Ok this one has two explanations that make sense: it could be that the AI misunderstood the request and excuted all of the people that are in the picture instead of removing them from the picture. Or, all of the people in the background of the picture are AI
While I'll admit there's no way to be sure which interpretation he intended (or whether he meant for it to be ambiguous), I will say that if he meant for it to be interpreted as him leaving all the robots in the picture (only removing humans), it would have IMO been a better idea to only erase one person who's easy to spot (like the biker in the photo) to clue us in on that being the case. I lean towards the second interpretation (him offing all the people in the photo other than the man making the request to "remove" them), because it's less likely that he looks away and pauses after studying the image if he doesn't need an extra step to execute (it would make sense that it takes a bit more time and "effort" to see to that they're all "taken care of"). Seeing as he didn't change the photo at all, it seems unnecessary for him to have to look away and process anything after he's already scanned the photo and, presumably, can already identify who's human or not without having to look away or "post process."
For the people who don't get the joke: Al asked for the ai to get rid of the people in the background, the ai interpreted this as 'kill all people in the background' so it killed all of them, that's why the photo didn't change and why Al suddenly gasped in realisation
