Thank you for this Jamie. This is an incredibly useful and practical tutorial. I learned a ton. I put the times next to each of these tips if anyone wants to use this as a navigation guide: 1.Send clients an online preview 0:11 2 Better tones with camera calibration 2:24 3.Change preset strength/ opacity 3:19 4.Targeted adjustment tool 5:19 5.Automatically match exposures with different settings 6:25 6.Faster image rating and selection 7:30 7.Individual slider automation 8:16 8.Edit local adjustment tools (Shift+Double Click) 8:29 9.Bigger sliders 9:25 10.Precision editing view 9:50
Regarding camera calibration: none of the profiles in lightroom come close to what you can achieve with a color calibrating tool - you have to create the camera/lense combination specific profile using a colour table, and then you will be shocked to see the difference. I work with Nikon, and without colour calibration the color of the images look terrible, no matter what profile you use, nothing can compete with the real profile that you create. I use a colorchecker passport.
THE FADER ALONE MAKES THIS VIDEO ABSOLUTELY WORTH IT. My tip is to make another video solely advertising fading presets because many people don't know there's a free option.
if you click in the data field by the sliders, you can use up/down arrow to adjust them too... in single unit increments - if you add shift, it goes by 10's...
One of the most useful LR tuts available! Most videos simply talk about some basics and how cool that is. But your video gets down the most important things that will affect a long workflow! Kudus mate
You Sir, are a legend. As a canon shooter the camera calibration setting tip alone has made my year, regardless of all the other nuggets of gold in there as well. Nice one fella. Instant subscriber.
Dude! You literally blew my mind! I’m sitting here gobsmacked, watching the entire video with my jaw dropped! I can’t tell you how helpful this video was!! The most amazing tips and hidden features I’ve seen to date! Thank you so much!
Mindblowing tips Jamie. I'm a commercial director that shoots stills for clients from time to time. I'm a photoshop man myself but you made me jump into Lightroom with more confidence. By the way, I bought some of your presets they are game-changers these presets save me so much time. These presets are a great way of articulating a potential look for a client in quick order. keep on making tutorials, please and thanks. I'm a fan of your photos also
For 9th tip, you can adjust the slider finely by having your cursor over the number on the right of the slider, click on it and moving your mouse to the left or right. All the tips you have were very helpful!
I've been using lightroom for about 10 years, 7 of which have been in a professional setting editing for a few photo companies. I actually did not know almost half of these. Excellent content, thank you for sharing. I also downloaded your medium format presets which are spot on. Keep up the great work!
I’ve been using Lightroom for almost 20 years and thought I knew almost everything there was about LR. Your tips just blew me away. Seems I have so much more to learn. Thank you, my friend. Amazing video.
Hi, many excellent tips, thanks! Since I found you some weeks ago, my first cup of coffee very early in the morning is well spent watching your videos. Worth noting that the CAPS LOCK tip works for picking and rejecting photos too (P, U, X keys).
I just have to say wow man! As a full-time professional I thought I knew Lr pretty well, but tips like the caps lock rating are genius. I never knew that existed. I always had one finger on the arrow button and the other on the numbers. Thanks for the great video
I'm going to lend my voice to the choir here. I wasn't convinced how relevant these tips would be but ended up being pleasantly surprised by how useful it is. Thank you so much!
Stumbled on your channel by chance. By far away the best advice and tips I have come across. Learning alot from you, so very grateful. Please keep going! 👍
Thank you. The channel seems to be growing an audience which is good. The more views I get, the more revenue I make and therefore, the more time I can justify putting into making and uploading videos. At the moment, the only time I can make videos is if I take time off other work (as my weekends are spent looking after my two young kids) so the aim is to make a lot more content in the future. I have a list of literally hundreds of videos I want to make. Watch this space…
Thanks for your reply! I have had a DSLR for nearly 2 years now and am always trying to improve. From the few videos I've seen so far your channel is definitely one my favourites. I also have a young child so can relate to the difficulties of finding time to do things outside of the day job but I'm sure if you carry on as you are your audience will continue to grow. Good luck and thanks again! P.S. I should also mention you have a great portfolio :)
Even though this is from 2017, you have no idea how much this helped me! I do mostly video work, but with the photography jobs that I do, this is definitely a huge help! Cheers!
Seems like I’ve spent years watching Lightroom and editing tutorials....you definitely taught me a few new tricks I’ll be adding to my workflow. Much appreciated!
Great tutorial! So many of the Lightroom videos out there rehash the same common "tips" but these are genuinely useful. I was aware of some of them but the others were completely me to me and will REALLY help my workflow. Thanks!
Thank you so much 😊 Fantastic video. In regards to tip no. 9 there is an easier way to fine tune the slider Just click on the slider’s and then use the +/- buttons on the keyboard and it will be adjusted. Thanks again.
Outstanding tips. A couple I knew but the ones I didn't, I will be using for sure. Thank you. You have won me over, I will follow you since I like your other videos as well. Cheers.
Hi Jamie, wonderful tips. We all know we sometimes get to a point that improving workflow is one of our main goals. I would like to ask you a couple questions, and maybe you'll be so kind as to answering them :) 1: Is there a shortcut to bring up The Fader? 2: What do you recommend as a "general" sharpening setting for weddings? I use 35 - 1, 4- 15 - 60. Thanks
Leaving out the Fader plugin, I knew all except the selective auto settings which I will usually never need (but thanks anyway!), and I'm grateful that you've reminded me of the menu item for the automatic exposure matching because I somehow forgot it... Thanks again!
Expected this to be click bait - but super helpful! Lightroom is kind of like excel for accountants, knowing all the features and shortcuts speed you up infinitely.
And I thought I knew light room inside and out. Great tutorial!! I found the match exposure to be most intriguing. Please continue on with additional gems you find in LR.
I just created a new playlist and it will only have this one video because it showcases all the best of the Lightroom which is a total game changer. Thanks a lot.
Excelent tips! You sir just won a new subscriber! The exposure matching thing is amazing. I had no idea and i've been using Lightroom for a couple of years.
WOOOAAAH! That Matching Exposure tip is actually pretty amazing! I'll definitely be using that! And I've accidentally done the "Faster Rating" tip. Accidentally because it wasn't until now that I'm realizing it was because my CAPS Lock was On. Lol. The times it's happened, I thought something was wrong with my LR.
Thanks. I try to keep it as concise as possible. I hate it when you watch a tutorial and the first 2 minutes is someone rambling on about why you might want to do what you're trying to do.
If you hold down Shift and move a slider, it lets you kind of "micro-adjust" the slider. So, there's really no need to expand the panel to help fine tune. Shift works even better. Try it out!
Jamie, great video! I've been using LR for years and I didn't know the majority of your tips. Thanks for sharing. This is going to help me with all my future edits.
Holy crap. A legitimately helpful video with actually useful information! Thank you! Also THANK YOU for NOT writing your TITLE like THIS for clickbaity garbage.
So helpful thanks Jamie :) you were really easy to follow and understand, didn't have to stop and start to catch up which makes a nice change! Looking forward to seeing your other videos! I was struggling with LR video expert overload, causing total confusion, but you make me want to keep going! Thanks mate from Down Under
Just for the Match Total Exposures tip it would already be worth seeing this video! Can't believe that after sooo many years using LR (and watching tip videos) I still didn't know that one... Could have saved me hours of work! I've just tried it out and it's amazing! Thank you so much!
Glad it helped. It's kind of great but also frustrating when you find out how to do something after years of doing it a longer way around. We've all been there!
Brilliant. really useful video - i do a lot of food shoots and regularly have 600+ images to get through - the caps lock rating tip saved me so much time.
Thank you so much. I absolutely love ALLL your content. Very helpful for both beginners and professionals. Your video have gotten even better. You seem like an introspective and empathic person. Haha I love your portrait in this video! Thanks again.
I knew all of it and wasn't going to like the video then the bonus, solo mode... it's just saved me a lot of time! Thank you. I'm glad I made it to the end. Here's your like sir!
Man! your videos are really awesome, I have watched some of them and really liked it, you show and talk from a very different point of view, please keep doing this! I am already suscribed!
Thank you for this Jamie. This is an incredibly useful and practical tutorial. I learned a ton. I put the times next to each of these tips if anyone wants to use this as a navigation guide:
1.Send clients an online preview 0:11

Hi! thanks for this! only thing is (Shift+Double Click) is for #7 ^_^

This is fucking incredible. This just changed my entire workflow after nearly a decade of Lightroom usage. You deserve a metal of some kind.
Thank you. I'll take Caesium please. That's always been my favourite metal.
I completely agree! #2 is a game changer!
lol!!
lol!.. ROCKED MY WORLD too!
@@jamiewindsor Aha so English.
How about the kind of metal a medal is made of?!
THE FADER ALONE MAKES THIS VIDEO ABSOLUTELY WORTH IT.
My tip is to make another video solely advertising fading presets because many people don't know there's a free option.
I've watched SO MANY Lightroom videos, yet most of your tips I had never seen covered before. Thanks!!!
Ive also watched many lightroom videos. There was some genius tips in this video but the one for me was the 'Increase slider size' Really helpful.
if you click in the data field by the sliders, you can use up/down arrow to adjust them too... in single unit increments - if you add shift, it goes by 10's...
As others have said, this is one of the few tips-and-tricks tutorials where most of the info is actually new and useful.

You can hold ctrl while adjusting sliders for the fine tune, great with making them wider too.

As a user of only the main basic lightroom features for several years, these are awesome tips that I never even would have thought to look for.
Probably the most valuable 12 minutes of Lightroom tutorials I've seen. Awesome!
And who the hell are the 67 idiots who gave this a thumbs down :-)
Hi, many excellent tips, thanks! Since I found you some weeks ago, my first cup of coffee very early in the morning is well spent watching your videos.

Wow Match Total Exposures is the best one, I did not know. Thanks!.
bratvlad Yes! Match Total exposure was a well kept secret! That tip made my day!
Same here! Love this tip!!!
That one is amazing, and I've been using LR since v2 and did not know that !!!
Was about to comment the same thing
loved this one too
Man, I add your videos to my "photography playlist" so quickly. Completely changed how quickly I edit, thank you.
The first video that actually had useful information beyond the usual 'how to use a brush'. I hope you have more tips to share
I'm going to lend my voice to the choir here. I wasn't convinced how relevant these tips would be but ended up being pleasantly surprised by how useful it is. Thank you so much!
Wow! Not the typical "hints" you see all over blogs and internet. Very helpful. Thanks!
I watch so many Lightroom Tips videos and often learn nothing but this video includes several I didn't know, clearly presented.
Stumbled on your channel by chance. By far away the best advice and tips I have come across. Learning alot from you, so very grateful. Please keep going! 👍

This was extraordinarily helpful - especially considering I've used lightroom for almost 5 years now!
MATCH TOTAL EXPOSURE. Game changer. Thank you.
Why did I not know that... after Lightroom for 10 years!
This could have saved soooo much time.
some of these tips are so basic but they make such a huge difference in the editing process! Great video!
Best Lightroom tutorial I've ever seen. Learned a lot here, and I've been using LR for 6 years.
This video been in my watch later play list for ages... Why didn't I watch it sooner! But just in time for my next photography adventure ☺️ thank you
WOW! Out of 10, 9 were new to me and -more impressively- 7 demonstrated functionalities that I do need in a Daly basis. Thank you!!!
Great tutorial! So many of the Lightroom videos out there rehash the same common "tips" but these are genuinely useful. I was aware of some of them but the others were completely me to me and will REALLY help my workflow. Thanks!
Omg I can't believe I missed all of these stuff. Makes editing whole lot more efficient. Thank you!
Awesome, Jamie! I'm glad to see that you're still making videos. And this one is the best lightroom video I've seen yet
Loving your videos - what a great teacher you are! Straight talking, no jargon, informative and very easy to listen to and learn - THANK YOU!!! :-)
Wow that was a really helpful video. I like your teaching style, easy to keep pace and never boring. Looking forward to new videos!
Just finished editing photos from a graduation party. Wish I had know about the synced settings. Great video! Can’t wait to try some of these!
Like many others said, I've been watching many LR videos, but they all give the same tips. This one is a gem. Thank you!
Thanks. I’ve been using Lightroom for over ten years and you still showed me a couple of new things.
Usually not a big fan of those top 10 things, but glad i watched this one! Cool Techniques!
Thank you so much 😊
Fantastic video.
In regards to tip no. 9 there is an easier way to fine tune the slider
Just click on the slider’s and then use the +/- buttons on the keyboard and it will be adjusted.
Thanks again.
Easily one of the best Lightroom videos I’ve ever watched thank you for this.
Good Morning Jamie. Many thanks for these. Great tips with excellent presentation and delivery. No "niff naff" just the facts. Thanks for sharing.
My favorites were the camera calibration profile one and the photo ranking with the Caps Lock on. Thanks!
You are the best youtuber! It’s not an opinion it’s a fact! Love how you zoomed in on your presentation makes it easy to follow. Very helpful tips!
Thank you. Glad you found it helpful.
This was probably the single most helpful lightroom video on TH-cam! Thank you!
Outstanding tips. A couple I knew but the ones I didn't, I will be using for sure. Thank you. You have won me over, I will follow you since I like your other videos as well. Cheers.
Thank you. Glad you like my videos.
Tons of Lightroom tip videos out there, but this was the first one i found really helpful.
Thanks a lot!
Loved these tips. Namely the fader plugin, the exposure matching and the targeted adjustment tool. I will be using these more often now.
BIG BRAVO, Jamie! Even for me as mostly German speaking Guy, you’ve done a Great Job!
Hi Jamie, wonderful tips. We all know we sometimes get to a point that improving workflow is one of our main goals. I would like to ask you a couple questions, and maybe you'll be so kind as to answering them :)
1: Is there a shortcut to bring up The Fader?

Thanks again!
Thank you for these tips Jamie. I hadn't heard of the match total exposures setting before. That will be a game changer for me!
These videos are typically tedious because they are saying things any beginner knows. This video awsome 😍
Expected this to be click bait - but super helpful! Lightroom is kind of like excel for accountants, knowing all the features and shortcuts speed you up infinitely.
Really genuinely great video of useful tips and no bloody grandstanding or ego trip. Excellent.
And I thought I knew light room inside and out. Great tutorial!! I found the match exposure to be most intriguing. Please continue on with additional gems you find in LR.
This is now one of my all time favorite videos on TH-cam 👍🏻 Thank you!
This is incredible - a whole new world! The fader presets especially! Thank you!
Jamie, well-done wish other tutorials were explained as well as yours
Great video! The caps lock for photo rating just blew my mind.
My favourite photography video so far! Thanks heaps.
Bro been using lightroom for quite some time but these tips just made my life so much easier haha feel so dumb that I wasn’t aware of some of them...
I just created a new playlist and it will only have this one video because it showcases all the best of the Lightroom which is a total game changer. Thanks a lot.
That tone curve target adjustment tool is amazing
Some really useful pointers that are missed by most. Brilliant
Fantastic tips!!! I'm a little surprised that I knew about a few of them, but most of them were totally new to me. Brilliant!
Excelent tips! You sir just won a new subscriber! The exposure matching thing is amazing. I had no idea and i've been using Lightroom for a couple of years.
NEXT PINT IS ON ME GEEZ. So much gold in here. Thanks mate!
WOW... so many helpful tips in such a short video. Learned more from this than dozens of other videos. haha
Great voice, great instructional - flows easy and super informative. To the point. Thank you!
Possibly the best Lr tutorial I've watched!
Great tips. Thank you for keeping it short and concise. No long winded nonsense. Cheers dude!

You are such a boss! I've never seen these tips! That first one is actually freaking amazing
Great video man! I learned a lot of new things.
Would love to see a video on your workflow. There are lots out there but even so, I'd be interested to see your method.
I love the way you explain and demonstrate things. Thank you for such a helpful video!
Jamie, great video! I've been using LR for years and I didn't know the majority of your tips. Thanks for sharing. This is going to help me with all my future edits.

#4 made me mouth out a swear. I had no idea what that thing was to the left of the tools. Thank you!
Many thanks for sharing & especially for tip 9...been wondering if there was a way to adjust the sensitivity of the sliders!
The fader is great! also really liked the auto exposure match function!!
You can also get to Auto Advance in the Library module -> Photo -> Auto Advance, then it is always activated.
Brilliant. really useful video - i do a lot of food shoots and regularly have 600+ images to get through - the caps lock rating tip saved me so much time.
Thank you so much. I absolutely love ALLL your content. Very helpful for both beginners and professionals. Your video have gotten even better. You seem like an introspective and empathic person. Haha I love your portrait in this video! Thanks again.
This video was incredibly helpful. So many things I didn’t know and expanded on things I already knew. Thank you!
WOW, this "MATCH TOTAL EXPOSURES" is incredible! THANKS A LOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow! This was the most useful video on editing I've seen in a while! Thank you so much!
The fader! I've always wanted the fader. I'm gonna have to give this a shot. Thanks for sharing Jamie. Cheers!
This is what I've been looking for, these tips will make life so much easier! Thank you, subscribed.
Great tips...All very informative...I liked the sharing collections and targeted adjustment the most...but all great.
Some really great tips here. The fader plugin was something that I have been looking for recently. Thank you so much for saring these.
I knew all of it and wasn't going to like the video then the bonus, solo mode... it's just saved me a lot of time! Thank you. I'm glad I made it to the end. Here's your like sir!
Came here for the preset opacity plug-in, and stayed for the rest! Thank you so much!
glad i watched this. these tips are gold. never encountered these tips from other videos. thank you so much.
Man! your videos are really awesome, I have watched some of them and really liked it, you show and talk from a very different point of view, please keep doing this! I am already suscribed!
