Nah sonic style is more of a memorization and reaction type of game. If sonic was like this it wouldn't be nearly as popular or fun imo. Pizza tower is a phenomenal one and done type of game. If they ever choose to make a sequel then it'll be like a decade from now. I really don't think sonic should strive to be like this imo.
@@ShurikanBlade isn’t this game also a memorization/reaction game? I’d say the S/P-rank runs are literally “memorize everything in the level to get the perfect run. If something goes wrong then either improvise or lose your combo” I assume the original comment was talking about 2D Sonic and having played Sonic Mania and Pizza Tower, I can 100% say this game does the memorization and replayability aspect 10 times better than Mania. IMO of course. Honestly a Pizza Tower sequel just seems so easy to do. Keep the same gameplay and level design formulas, create a bunch of new levels, with new gimmicks, maybe different playable characters from the get-go, and keep the same absurd humor and artstyle… Boom it’s a best-seller
@@lowrngy It's hard to interpret what I meant over text but what I mean is that pizza tower feels like pure memorization while sonic is both memorization AND reaction but emphasis on reaction for stuff like 3D ganms (I'd say pizza tower isn't both since stuff like enemies and obstacles are all countered by Mach 2 while in sonic you actively have to react to threats). I think this simplicity is what makes sonic as good and popular as it is cuz it offers you a simple playstyle while also rewarding those who put in the time. While Pizza tower pushes everyone to optimize even if it's just a little bit. It encourages getting better and going for higher ranks while IMO sonic isn't really like that. It's casual enough for everyone and designed to be mastered by some. It strikes a balance that pizza tower lacks (on purpose cuz pizza tower and sonic don't strive for the same result) which is why I think they shouldn't strive for the same thing and why sonic feels more infinitely reproducible.
Pizza Tower is one of my favorite games from the last few years. I used to follow the game's development since the SAGE demo! Great stuff, love the animation, soundtrack and level design, a worthy spiritual successor to the likes of Wario Land 4.

...but you still gotta be fast on the way out, and I have a terrible sense of direction.
@@PauLtus_B its ok, man. ive seen people play TERRIBLY and they still have, like, 50 seconds left after they finish the level. and also, while youre escaping, two characters point you in the direction you need to go. Gustavo (your friend), and Mr.Stick (some guy you need to pay for boss levels)
Definitely got the game journalist gameplay with this one
just bought the game tonight . I saw some streamer last year played it on Pc. Tonight I saw another streamer playing it on Switch and cool this was the time to buy it !! Wooww incredible game. Already played it 4 hours in a row .. but now 3 am have to sleep !! Very good video review !! thank you !
This does look great. I personally preferred Wario Land 1 and think they took the series into a too puzzly/speedrunning territory as the games continued. For those that loved that aspect of the later Wario Land games I'm sure this'll scratch the itch.
play the game bro the only complaint they had about it was because they didn't take the time to learn the bosses
I like nintendo switch but nothing beats being able to play egg's lap mod.
YEEEOOOW
Good review, you guys.
I got this game for my birthday. Best present ever.
Reminds me a bit of Adventure Pals. Which was fantastic.
it would be awesome if they add a wario skin to the switch version
I have this game on PC but damnit if this game isn't a Nintendo type of game you want on your Switch collection.
Hey! At least they patched the Secrets of the World level where it just flashes
So did they censor any of it for the Switch?
No
Can you make a video about it
IS THIS TRUE IS THIS GAME ON THE NINTENDO SWITCH AND SWITCH LITE!?
Yes sir. It'll run ya 20 bucks though
ye
Lol, love the artwork, reminds me of my 90s childhood. ☺️👍
Grabbing this as soon as i finish gunbrella
After beating the game 101% on PC well before this game got anounced for switch, watching him dilly-dally after a combo in this video was kinda anxiety inducing😅
Secrets of the world glitches out
honestly the only part of PT i didnt like was the bosses. Everything else is great.
also the noise bonus campaign is great.
I just found out today this game released on the Switch
Thank you pizza man for bringing your pizza stress here 🦆👍
6:24 stop running into pepperman and press the X button my guy
Or just jump him (although I prefer using the parry)
Great game but I had to put it down upon reaching the final boss. I struggled with every boss fight in the game and this last one is just too much. Multiple phases and no checkpoints in between. I've been spoiled by modern games and their checkpoint systems 😭
Not a game that hooks me I'm afraid.
Can't wait to pick up that physical version from Fangamer
To think a game about being a superior to a Nintendo title would end up being praised by it. Huh. 🤔
It's how Sonic games are meant to be designed.
@@ShurikanBlade So... you haven't tried to P rank this game or have even played it? lol
@@Warrenoh I've played the game and P ranked the first floor but okay. Sorry that my opinion is wrong to you
@@ShurikanBlade isn’t this game also a memorization/reaction game? I’d say the S/P-rank runs are literally “memorize everything in the level to get the perfect run. If something goes wrong then either improvise or lose your combo”
I assume the original comment was talking about 2D Sonic and having played Sonic Mania and Pizza Tower, I can 100% say this game does the memorization and replayability aspect 10 times better than Mania.
Pizza Tower is a pathetic attempt to uphold the legacy of a series whose reputation has been tarnished permanently by Nintendo.
I want this and Anton Blast!! Since Nintendo won’t make a new Wario Land or make Wario Land Shake it HD
Pizza Tower is a must play
Bro there is a noise update
Title: is it worth it?
Me: Y E S
Is pizza delicious?
Yes
Buy this game everyone!!! It's so fun in every way.
Bro forgot about the noise update and swap mode
... That are meant to be New game+ "Secrets"
I oh ready have it on steam
I miss Shake It....bleh.
Anyways I may get this on Switch, I have it on Steam but...barely played it. The controls were a bit wonky and I dunno if it was because of the Switch Pro Controller being used on Steam, maybe it controls better on the Switch itself... :/
i love the art of this game but the controllers are kinda odd to me and the game itself is stressful
yes
worth more than any modern nintendo game, that’s for sure
The review was read by Zion, BUT it was actually WRITTEN by Mitch Vogel.
I will never get my head around Zion's "A, but B" editorial choice.
I went to my friends house multiple times a week to play this game like we was in 2009 or something and since I'm a broke ahh MF i never bought it for myself, I beat the game at his house and then he got it for me for my B day the day after on steam. I'm close to beating it a second time then 100%ing the game then tryna P rank everything.
Oh mama mia, it's a Pizza Tower on the Nintendo Switch-a, E-YA-A-A-A-A-A-OW!!
Pizza Dinosaur is back! Get em' Wario!
If that's what it looks like on the switch I would call that an instant yes does that mean I'm going to buy it probably not I I just don't know if I want to buy anything on the switch I don't even buy anything on the Xbox even though at some point I want to get those principal too on it just because my systems can't handle tells principle too they probably can't even handle tells principle one I mean technically they can but does that mean I want to play telephone one no I've got no point where there's no point getting further technically I could go through into heaven I just haven't done that yet
What it was bugging up on was Talos principle
you sound like that pizza granny in floor 2
@@5FriedFrittersOnAFriday theres a pizza in your tower with this information
I'm just waiting for a PlayStation port
Game of the year, every year
Yes, it is.
P-P-P-PIZZA 🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
9/10🥺
Yes… yes
Gutted gonna have to stop playing it. The bosses are too challenging for me and I hate how it punishes you for failing to escape by making you do the whole level again. I’m a massive Wario land fan and this game feels so great to play but I can’t overcome the difficulty.
Omg love it
The playthourgh hurts
It played great, but I don’t have the skill to play it very well
Nothing about the performance?
Nothing to say. It’s perfect.
It's a 2d platformer, it'll only lag if you got this game running on Microsoft word
Yes. It's worth it.
YEEESSSS
Based on my experience, the short answer is yes
Pizza time!
