I mean, realistically speaking, a stronger SWITCH with spec bumps is all that's needed, since the OG is running on architecture from around 2013. If I could add things I'd like to see, but aren't a requirement, it'd only be analog triggers just to make the barrier of entry for racing games lower.
6:48 On the note of Better Bluetooth, it's criminal the Switch has zero audio balance options. The moment the balance went a little off on my earbuds I've never touched using them on the Switch again
Nahh you guys and everyone else are overthinking it, every PlayStation since the PSone is literally "just another" Playstation, but with a added number and stronger hardware, same with iPhones and Samsung, and it all works and nobody is complaining. Thats what Nintendo should do too from now on, call it Switch 2, give it stronger hardware, put your next Marios, Zelda, Pokemons and Metroids on there and everyone is happy, the magnetic joy-cons are enough of a "gimmick" to differenciate it from the first Switch.
However, Nintendo fans aren’t PS or Xbox fans. We don’t know how they’ll react on a “just another switch” situation, where Nintendo releases the switch 2 with just hardware improvements.
Bluetooth as a standard has updated at least a couple times in the last 8 years. But whether any of those enhancements equates to better audio quality I'm not sure
The only game I recall using the trackpad was monkey ball. Your finger would raise the terrain and move the ball around the course. Resistance also used it for aiming weapons. They never felt comfortable to use.
I think it would be dope if it had a microphone so some of those odd retro titles that need it can, well, use it. I also would love for a proper IR sensor to come back. I miss light gun games and it’s the only way to do it on modern TVs…. and now, I’m not going to get a CRT again. I threw 3 away and I was glad when I did it.
Cameras on the new 3DS were required for eye tracking. The point by Felix on the mic is great, same as PS5. As is on PS5 it can be annoying when it's on by default without knowing.
A stylus! I can imagine Nintendo making a kind of 'magic stylus' that turns any surface into a graphics tablet. Internally, it could work similarly to a laser mouse.
I mean... I would want a camera back just because I miss being able to share QR codes to share stuff between games and consoles like in the 3DS days and not having your only way to share stuff like Animal Crossing Designs and Miis be tied to Nintendo Switch Online.
I think most people do just want another switch with enough power to play most if not all games with little to no slow down and maybe slightly better graphics. And some more qol features would be nice.
A more substantial vr mode than Labo VR. You toss the switch in a more sturdy headset that has inside out tracking cameras on it. The switch docks into it the headset and it’s got room scale and tracks the joycons as hand controllers
i doubt they will do it, based of the leaks, but i would love if the JoyCon2s had the Start/Select buttons swapped with the Share/Home. It is kinda awkward to pause games at times also for Touchpad, that would be a pretty good upgrade for the JoyCon Grips, add a battery, a touchpad, and make it wider & bam!
- also yes, USB-C on top & bottom of the Switch 2 would be amazing, you could even plug a USB wireless dongle for Headphones. or a Nintendo Camera + Binaural mic - Streetpass would be amazing - the issue with adding 3D to the Switch 2 is that TVs don't have 3D so that mode would be gone - they only did Swappable Faceplates for the "New" 2DS, & only in Japan. But yes i would love if the Switch back plates were swappable, i hate that not even DBrand does them outside of limited drops - the Alarmo sensor is basically the same IR Sensor as the JoyCon
I would like for the switch 2 to be able to use the original switch is like a wii-u gamepad, the wii-u had some great game ideas but it just wasnt a populair system, so we never really got the most out of what it might have been able to do. With the amount of original switches have been sold, its not that crazy of an idea.
A camera would be good, but not essential. Better connectivity between the Switch 2 and phone apps would give you access to a better camera, and more control over the angle you’re seen from. I play from bed a lot, and nobody needs to be staring up my nostrils while visiting my Animal Crossing island. If a camera was a peripheral sold separately to keep the cost of the console down, I think that would be the best solution. Particularly if using the rumoured second USBC on the top of the device. But a microphone really is essential to open up the console to different genres that have not been served by the current Switch, particularly MMO games. Discord really only exists as a gapfill for mics and cams for a lot of gamers, would be good to cut that out of the equation for a simpler gaming experience.
For the games for Switch 2, I want Super Mario Journey, Mario Kart X, a new Mario + Rabbids game, Pikmin 5, A sequel to The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, a brand new 3D Kirby game, a game similar to Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door, a remake of Kid Icarus Uprising, and a brand new Golden Sun game.
Mic in the joycon and pro controller would be used alot I think. 1 if they bring system party chat (Which they better) if you forget a headset it's great. But 2 I know nintendo would use it a ton in their games and I'd like to see that brought into Mario party button, motion, HD rumble (surprisingly unused in Mario party for some reason), and mic games to choose from would be awesome. Mario Party ultimate all old mini games return from all the games and 100 more with mic and or rumble support.
I had an idea of a "Weird Joy-Con" pair with a Control Pad instead of Directional Buttons and a Touch Pad instead of a Right Stick that would work wirelessly and could be mixed and match with other Joy-Con. HORI made an officially licensed left controller that only worked wben paired, and there's the Split Pad controllers they made as well, but I do want that touch pad. Since the next Nintendo Switch will likely be out within a year, I've seen legitimate concept art that indicates that the screen will be larger and the side controllers will be as well. I think the Sticks, Buttons, including the shoulder buttons, will likely and should be larger like the Pro Controller, but if there's space, put touch pads on both Joy-Con, below the Directional Buttons and the Right Stick. The left touch pad could be modified to feel like a Control Pad (like the Steam Controller, alrhough I don't remember if this very effective the few times I felt one) and the right touch pad could be used for aiming or item selection.
Ring Fit Adventure use the sensor as a vitality sensor, yeah. ;) Also the ability to set alarms and use the Joy con without the Switch to count ring presses.
If the Switch 2 incorporated a heart rate monitor into games, I would avoid it like the plague.... Focusing in on my heart rate gives me anxiety, and even panic attacks. So HELLLL NO, please don't do that!
The one thing I want, really really want.... is the ability, to play with the console in your hands, and the dock connected to the tv...(Like the Wii u, my all time favoruite console).. even if you have to use it with a wired, just as an option, to have the screen, and tv simultanisly playing at the same time, and just go crazy with wii u online, possibly with some enhancing, not neccasary, remastering.. just give a menu of manual settings, to increase the power, have a default, and if stabile, enhance the color and framrate..., with just wii u roms... anyway, what I want is the dual screen setup... so if the dock has it own little video out, not full processor, or gpu, just empugh to recieve, and send video from the switch 2.... or possibly have it use 2 switches, as local play type, the can work together to become a wii u!!))) ... also the wii you had a fantastic menu, also quite like the 3ds one.. and there was much more charm with the eshop, atleast with the wii u... I really hope they bring the charm back, and more customizable menues, the simple ability to view your start menu in a grid, I really don't like everything on a line... but after just started on the zelda ehoes of wisdom... I think nintendo is against grids, in menus.... so probably will not happen.. but I hope the menu will be more customizable... different themes, loved those on the 3ds, but yeah, I wish you could just completly customizze the start menu. with nintendo charm.... they could make like a charming wii creator, just with the menus. while I liked the things you coulld get from the crane game on the 3ds, while it took many years before I even discovered it, and I did not really care for the low pixels stuff.. Im really glad I got a few of the consoles pin, I used it on the folders on the 3ds, with the games I bought, so I had a folder with the g&w pin, and had all the dsi g&w ports. also the gameboy, and gameboy colour pins, for those games, I never did get a nes.. only fammicom pin, so I had a few bought nes games in that folder.... I mean, the switch 2 can have a simple menu as default... but if you want to make it more like the wii u and 3ds, as an option. Im glad for the dark theme on the swith, and prefer that over the white.. but they could add so much more. I really want switch 2 to become capable of dual screen, for wii u ports... but also anyone who wants to take advantage of it, especially if it is capable of it alone, without an extra switch, or accesories on modern games, or enhanced version.. I still want the original zelda breath of the wild, with all the ideas they had for the wii u, I even bought the wii u version after the switch, just too see if they had it there, but all was gone, or otherwise people would just buy the wii u version as the better one, even with lower fps and quality, gameplay really matter, and having the second screen on that game would be amazing. just look at the version of the 2 other zelda games on wii u, these games especially windwaker, really benefits from the second screen, just being able to look at inventory and maps without pausing game is amazing.. there is alot of potential with dual screen, that wii u never did... have standalone app, you can use on any games, that does not require 2 screens... like a map drawing app, with screenshot build in,. a bio notebook, or like quest notebook, again with screenshot, adding notes and stuff, mayby linked with the map app... also ofc a internet app... lets not forget one of the greatest thing from the wii u.. the digital manuals... seriously, if anyone look closley at those, atleast some, are really good, but I do think having the possibility to look at manual without pausing the game would help alot... again kinda like what people might use the internet for.. add like a gameplay, nintendo power type manual, and have that as an app, you can have on your screen while playing on the tv... seriously just rerelease all the nintendo power magasine as app, especially if the switch 2 has the 2 sreen, possibility with tv, playing nintendo online, with nintendo power, or modern recreation, or just websites, on the screen would be awesome.... with all that said, the dual screen possibility would create lots of possibilities for retro, simple games, have app to run while playing, like map drawing, notebook, gameplay guides.. and ad nintendo charm... I would be sold... also wish they bring street pass back, I never got to use that while it was popular, I try to use it now.. but.. give us a new streetpass
I just hope the weight doesnt increase too much, I already struggle to hold it as is (my joints are f'ed) and with all the talk about bigger screens and whatever extras they might include Im worried it won't be properly functioning as a handheld anymore
That would be pretty cool if they put a touchpad on the next Nintendo system because there may be lost winds 1&2 HD couldn’t finally end up on console and not just exclusively on PC, not that I’m complaining mind but if more people wanted to play the games… What about similar solar panels to that you see in Samsung TV/Monitor Remotes
A dedicated party chat, so I don't have to use a phone to voice chat. Wired Lan port day one. Some form of achievements/trophies for all games. Streetpass... I miss streetpass
I want support for cameras and mics. I don't want them actually on the console. The quality of the mic and camera would just suck I'm sure. So just don't include them. However if you could connect a camera, if you are the type that wants that, (I am not.) it is a good idea. Like the USB That has been mentioned on the top. A camera could just clip on to the top there. Same for the mic. Their is nothing worse then playing a game with someone that has a really crappy mic. So don't put a mic on the system but a AUX jack to plug your headset into on the joycons and on the pro controller instead is a good idea. Then give us in game chats that we can use or discord support or something.
I own thousands of Switch games, I don't care about any of this shit. The only thing I want to know is whether Nintendo is going to screw over its hardest fans by not making the cartridge slot backwards compatible. I'm honestly feeling insulted by the games Nintendo is playing and I've decided to stop buying Switch games, and I may never buy another game from Nintendo ever again. I don't even play in handheld mode, I was just buying games because I like Nintendo, but if Nintendo wants to screw me over to make an extra 10% profit then they can say goodbye to a customer of over 30 years. 🖕
Honestly, I just want a refresh and to hardware and some quality of life improvements at this point. I really hope Nintendo doesn't pick up a new gimmick that is another Wii-U.
all these ideas remind me how right Nintendo got the Switch, it didn't do anything silly, it's just the perfect console, I can see it live on in a fanless version at some point with extended battery life, maybe as a classic version. And the Switch 2 offering more of a 'Pro' experience; I don't think Nintendo need to go silly with that either
12:03 Peripheral for a port in the top of the Switch 2? IR emitter! IR emitter and then add sensors to both joycons. Give me my Wii-era IR pointer controls back so I don't have to rely on gyro and recalibrating it every three minutes! IR remains the king of pointer controls. Gyro has its uses but for pointer / light gun style controls, it's IR or nothing.
I just don’t see the point in incorporating gimmicks into console hardware because developers rarely use them. It is an additional cost for them to utilize in their games and when developing multi platform games developers prefer a streamline approach. Can you all remember how many games utilized HD rumble in the switch joy cons?
60 fps is a game developer thing. The current Switch can do 60 fps, but many game developers don't target it. The Switch 2 will certainly offer the option.
All I want is a proper game activity tracker much like the 3ds.
Zion approved
The Wii had a rudimentary activity tracker but the one I had the best experience with was the one on the Wii U.
This! And please add an automatic game diary for every game. A bit like the old pokemon games dat summarized the story so far.

Needs native backwards compatibility
@@mikeuk666 Nintendo confirmed that a few weeks ago
However, Nintendo fans aren’t PS or Xbox fans. We don’t know how they’ll react on a “just another switch” situation, where Nintendo releases the switch 2 with just hardware improvements.
I miss streetpass
Not the same with iPhones - they’ve been adding hardware and software features all the time.
A lot of options will be connected to the 2nd type-C connector available, like camera with mic and NFC(will be remove from the new switch)
Internally, it could work similarly to a laser mouse.
clever idea
I mean... I would want a camera back just because I miss being able to share QR codes to share stuff between games and consoles like in the 3DS days and not having your only way to share stuff like Animal Crossing Designs and Miis be tied to Nintendo Switch Online.
Make it immediately launch with Nintendogs II
It's puppy time 🐕🐕🐕🐕🐕🐕🐕🐕🐕
Alternative title: Features that would kill the switch 2
I wish the winner was shown in the background smash gameplay, it's annoying to not see who won in the end.
always enjoy these discussion videos!!
2:57 They could bring back that one N64 Tetris game that used a pulse sensor to adjust the difficulty lol
I think most people do just want another switch with enough power to play most if not all games with little to no slow down and maybe slightly better graphics. And some more qol features would be nice.
The only way you can top the switch is by adding vr support and backwards compatibility
A more substantial vr mode than Labo VR. You toss the switch in a more sturdy headset that has inside out tracking cameras on it. The switch docks into it the headset and it’s got room scale and tracks the joycons as hand controllers
16:13 The Wii Remotes had that feature with Mii’s, so not a weird idea!
i doubt they will do it, based of the leaks, but i would love if the JoyCon2s had the Start/Select buttons swapped with the Share/Home. It is kinda awkward to pause games at times
also for Touchpad, that would be a pretty good upgrade for the JoyCon Grips, add a battery, a touchpad, and make it wider & bam!
- also yes, USB-C on top & bottom of the Switch 2 would be amazing, you could even plug a USB wireless dongle for Headphones. or a Nintendo Camera + Binaural mic
- Streetpass would be amazing
- the issue with adding 3D to the Switch 2 is that TVs don't have 3D so that mode would be gone
- they only did Swappable Faceplates for the "New" 2DS, & only in Japan. But yes i would love if the Switch back plates were swappable, i hate that not even DBrand does them outside of limited drops
- the Alarmo sensor is basically the same IR Sensor as the JoyCon
I have 3 wishes for a switch 2:
1. Much bigger, slimmer screen main screen.
2. 3DS and Gamecube games added to NSO
3. Dual Screen
I would like for the switch 2 to be able to use the original switch is like a wii-u gamepad, the wii-u had some great game ideas but it just wasnt a populair system, so we never really got the most out of what it might have been able to do.
With the amount of original switches have been sold, its not that crazy of an idea.
15:36 like the Pokemon Go+ Plus!
If it's literally a "switch 2" and not an actual new console im tweaking
Use the Switch 1 as a second screen monitor that helps and supports the Switch 2
The moment u hear alex his voice you cant help but get happy 😂
For me: No friend codes, no godawful voice chat, better and more lively UI, eshop that actually functions well and doesn’t have loads of shovelware
Agree. I turn all that stuff off on my watch and phone etc
Holodeck Capability is what I'm hoping for with Switch 2.
Been thinking the middle of the puppy dog controller could be a touchpad
Themes?
All I want is them to bring back analog triggers with digital click like those on the Gamecube. They will need them for the GC games for online,.
Using the switch 2 as a second screen like the WiiU
That would be pretty cool if they put a touchpad on the next Nintendo system because there may be lost winds 1&2 HD couldn’t finally end up on console and not just exclusively on PC, not that I’m complaining mind but if more people wanted to play the games…
What about similar solar panels to that you see in Samsung TV/Monitor Remotes
A dedicated party chat, so I don't have to use a phone to voice chat.
Wired Lan port day one.
Some form of achievements/trophies for all games.
Streetpass... I miss streetpass
Hopefully games can run at 60fps especially some of the ported games like Nier Automata and Doom Eternal.
My prediction is they’ll add a camera for augmented reality, and no games will actually use it
I want support for cameras and mics.
15:40 You wouldn’t even need to take a Joy Con with you, just your phone lol, using the Nintendo Switch App.
Use TMR joystick sensors
I mean, if we're making a wishlist, how about optional VR?
Epics Smash battles in the background
12:03
Peripheral for a port in the top of the Switch 2?
Idea: please add blue light filter 🥺
The Wii motion capture system back.
How about a more feature rich home screen?
what about an integraed zapper in the docking station ?
Where are those Zion videos? Used to love them.
Wii remote connectivity, usb sensor bar
I just don’t see the point in incorporating gimmicks into console hardware because developers rarely use them. It is an additional cost for them to utilize in their games and when developing multi platform games developers prefer a streamline approach. Can you all remember how many games utilized HD rumble in the switch joy cons?
Make it so it can wirelessly use a switch 1 as a gamepad controller.
Semi-labo style VR mode
Here's a QOL one: make the cloud FREE instead of being tied to a 90 day expiration date
I just want analogue triggers, 60 fps and an achievement system.
60 fps is a game developer thing. The current Switch can do 60 fps, but many game developers don't target it. The Switch 2 will certainly offer the option.
@@logicalfundy I know, it's just recently, Mario & Luigi, Luigi's Mansion, Paper Mario, Zelda ... I need those games to run 60. :/
idk i appreciate nintendo switch not having any hardware that could be watching me or eavesdropping on my conversations.
