    I was really on the fence about getting a sequencer- It seemed like just a gimmick and I was worried it wouldn’t hold my interest more than a week.
    Fast forward to me still learning about the device and realizing it’s a full blown hardware fugue machine that adds a layer of depth to the sound design I already do.
    I learned two things; One, I hate piano rolls, 2, sound designing with contextual midi is a game changer.
    You can definitely recreate stuff like what I did in the grid, but I find the tactile approach to be much more inviting.
    Big ups ‪@oxiinstruments‬ . you made me a fan.
    and thanks to ‪@krazywabbit‬ for turning me onto the oxi one

    Ive gassed on this many times. But cooler heads always prevailed. I was going to use it in a techno live set context. I kinda use gas to motivate me to use what I already have. Super cool looking sequencer. I am glad your enjoying it.

      There’s definitely alternatives especially if you’re a bit savvy at building sequencers via grid or DRambo. Definitely enjoy the immediacy and lack of menu diving though

    For windows users it seems you need to install a BLE update to get it to sync to bitwig... I just picked the OXI today and I spent the last hour contemplating taking a hammer to the beautiful device hahaha.... great vids as always my friend...

      spoke too soon... seems like blutooth connectivity is finite... Did you ever have any issues with this? Im finding forums in OXI community complaining about this flaw... Otherwise great device for hardware and connected via USB...

      I’ve only used bluetooth via phone and tablet and haven’t had any big issues other than small latency, but that’s to be expected since it’s wireless. I always hook mine up

    I'm using the squarp hapax to control synths in bitwig (and external gear). Pairs up quite nicely. This was really cool, I never knew about rolling sampler but I might have to pick that up, seems very for grabbing bits of sound while experimenting.

    • @Alckemy
      @Alckemy  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That’s really neat! I looked up the square but went with the oxi bc of the portability. Even still, making a sequence and then destroying it with fx can be done in so many ways.
      Can’t recommend the rolling sampler enough though. That changed my life

    You should try the HY sequencers, Riffer, Stepic, and Stochas.

    • @Alckemy
      @Alckemy  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I wasn’t a fan of Riffer, I like the random stuff but it doesn’t have offset, nudge, etc. I have a review of it on the channel:)

    Asked this question elsewhere, but since you are using the OXI with Bitwig, I noticed that OXI has limited internal memory and no SD card. Can you download songs and arrangements into your computer, store them there and load it up for later?

    • @Alckemy
      @Alckemy  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@Alckemyagreed, but it's very hard to find all the settings, it's lacking of an in depth tutorial. Even dummy stuff like : reduce the pattern length or change the midi channel per channel in multritack mode are not so easy to find.
