Sick video and thanks for the shout! regarding the clip loop points, I believe when you scissor a clip it leaves the loop markers in place, you need to open them up and manually edit or ctrl-C, ctrl-V from the clip size to loop size in inspector :)

I knew I did something weird with the loops. Oops

Thanks for this! I’ve done a lot of similar things in Bitwig and on my iPad, but my challenge is always taking it from the generated melodies to something that sounds good in a given genre with its instruments (ie. Dubstep lead). I liked getting a glimpse of that at the end; if you’re ever looking for more content I’d love to see more of you going from generated content to a fully fleshed out melody with instruments and beats.

Thanks Joe! Every track I’ve made the last 5 years have been done live on stream.

As you said, chords are a secondary effect of the simultaneous movement of lines. In counterpoint - something they don't teach in music schools anymore - there are strict rules governing both how the lines move and how the lines relate to each other. This was how harmony developed in Europe. FWIW there isn't really a concept of harmony in Arabic/Turkish music, nor does such an idea exist in classical Indian music. Interestingly, I know that Mr. Bill also doesn't consider chords as a primary starting point, preferring to get there via the interaction of lines moving at the same time. He's a 'traditionalist' in that sense. : )

The Sequencer looks really nice , might have to treat myself when i have the money

This is my favorite piece of hardware I’ve owned that actually fits in my workflow but there are definitely other sequencing options like the one I covered

Interesting to see that Bitwigs own inbuilt fx produced the most pleasing results, the OXI 1 is way over priced & useless for me as I have no outboard gear, so certainly wouldnt pay for the functionality

It’s good to have choices :)

Yeah Nice if you can make good use of it, I doubt i'll buy any outboard sound gear, except controllers. I would have loved a room full years ago, still havent got round to sequencing with the launchpad, just do everything on screen, but love the fact there's plenty to do just within Bitwig, the other day I was trying to emulate in BW, the microcosm a nice little thing i'll never buy...but It's easy to get sidetracked along the way :) @@Alckemy

I think a stochastic sequencer is a bit different- the oxi has one included but it is a neat way to get some midi, too!

Best is to learn theory to have human emotion in melody, but now I think the AI takes over its useful ofc to get inspired, but I think Bitwig is all about modular, robotic approach..future

I’m not really sure why the clips weren’t launching differently, I think it was either because of where I set the loop points or because of bitwig being in beta. Hope the concept was at least easy to understand!

@ Alckemy Neuro Do u know if it’s possible to easily achieve something like Fugue Machine using the new Midi sequencer in Drambos latest update?

    • @Alckemy
      @Alckemy  ปีที่แล้ว +1

I don’t know of any midi sequencing modulators DRambo has other than the Euclidean, so I don’t think it’s possible yet.

Open the list of all modules, click Midi, scroll down to sequencer

If you’re updated all the way, of course.

@@Pogi-fo1dzjust checked it out. So, kind of. You can’t have multiple sequencers on one source as far as I can tell but you can put one on multiple tracks and have it bounce around. May do a video on it sometime^^

Ah ok. A video would be cool tho. Just to see how to use it more professionally. There really isnt any vids on it as of now so yea. Thx
