Since hearing this back in 74, apart from the fact I love Kevin Ayers voice, this remains probably my favourite guitar solo ever, and there were a lot of great guitar solos in the 70s! Sadly I missed the gig...
My favorite album for the last 40 years, I probably bought it because of John Cale and Eno, but the Side 2 became the great gift and the guitar of Ollie made me loose my jaw.
Remember seeing the same gig in Manchester I was just turned 18. Still listen to the concert once in a while. Funny I went to see Cale and Nico not Kevin Ayers . This was the song that blew everybody else away
@nicole marchand - it's a C3 organ - this is what John "Rabbit" Bundrick used around the time - effectively a B3 but in a different chassis/ casing = beautiful sound.
This is also one of my favourite guitar solos ever. I wonder what happened with the recording of this show. A single LP was released at the time, just five of Kevin's songs, one by John Cale and one by Nico, and a couple of Eno's. What about the rest?

Ollie Halsall probably 1 of the best guitarist ever.
Alonso Rodrigez absolutely right
Alonso Rodrigez Yes, maybe not the best guitarist in the world but in the top 2.
Yes great musical phrasing

Cuando escuché 'dance to my tune' de Tempest quedé impresionado. Para mi el mejor solo de guitarra.
Been listening to this album for 40 years. It never gets old.
