    this is great music. i am so grateful that none of these guys would be considered for that bastion of mediocrity called. the rock n roll hall of fame.

    The great thing about TH-cam is that I can see the greatest concert of all time (in my head that is) Incredible String Band, Gong and Kevin Ayres and the Whole World as headliners. Bliss!

    It begins with a blessing
    And it ends with a curse;
    Making life easy,
    By making it worse;
    My mask is my Master,
    The trumpeter weeps,
    But his voice is so weak
    As he speaks from his sleep, saying
    Why, why, why, why are we sleeping!
    People are watching,
    People who stare;
    Waiting for something
    That's already there.
    Tomorrow I'll find it ,
    The trumpeter screams,
    And remembers he's hungry
    And drowns in his dreams, saying
    Why, why, why, why are we sleeping!
    My head is a nightclub
    With glasses and wine;
    The customers dancing
    Or just making time;
    While David is cursing
    The customers scream!
    Now everyone's shouting,
    "Get out of my dreams!"
    Toujours d'actualité !!!!

    Given his family background, I'm surprised Ayers was given the first name "Kevin". From the little I know about him, and listening to him speak, one would assume him to originate from a solidly upper middle class background but Kevin seems such a working class name!

    • @elizabethhann4028
      @elizabethhann4028 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      [26 January 2022] I must confess, I always thought so too. If you just looked at his face (when he was in his prime) and heard his voice, before you knew his name, you'd probably imagine him to have a name like Cornelius or Julian or something like that.

    Sorry, but divorced from its wacky context, this 'music' really IS the most awful adolescent rubbish. Thank god we've all grown up. I liked some Soft Machine, Robert Wyatt, etc. But all of it - all that post Woodstock British groove, Caravan, Van D GG, it was all 95% pose and 5% music. Who tf listens to it anymore? Crystal Palace 2, Fulham 0.
