No one has reacted to the Heart masterpiece: Mistral Wind from Dog & Butterfly. Every song on that album is top notch.

Written by Holly Knight, Eugene Black, Ann Wilson and Nancy Wilson. Recorded in Fantasy Studios 🎙, Berkeley. Across the Bay from my hometown San Francisco 🌉.
On the self-titled album, Never is before These Dreams.
Geoffrey Tate of Queensryche, Ann Wilson and her youngest sister Nancy Wilson, the late Layne Staley of Alice in Chains and the late Chris Cornell of Soundgarden lived in Metro Seattle in the 1970s. They were students of the late singing coach David Kyle. Marilyn Horne and Frederica von Stade were his students from classical music. Frederica von Stade moved to my hometown area the San Francisco Bay Area 🌉.
Suggested videos 📹: 1 Heart performs There's the Girl 👧. 2 Queensryche performs The Queen of the Reich

Whoa.. was unaware how Holly Knight was influential in 80s tunes.. First time I heard of Holly was when her Heart Don't Fail Me Now came out in the late 80s. Loved it the first time I heard it, and pleasantly surprised to find out as well that Daryl Hall was part of it too. Ages later when I found out about her band Device. My fave is Who's On The Line?

If a 1980s record company wanted a female songwriter for a hit song, Holly Knight is 1 such songwriter: Aerosmith, Heart ❤, Pat Benatar, John Waite, Sir Rod Stewart, Lou Gramm had at least 1 hit song from her.

Definitely go see them in concert - I've seen them so many times! Just so you know, they hated this era (the high hair, the mist)- in the 80s they felt they had to be commercial to be a hit but they definitely put out a lot of bangers. A lot of their albums you can play from start to finish and you'd love every song. I'm seeing them again in NY in October!

"Mistral Wind" from Dog and Butterfly is the best studio recording Heart ever made. It's a slow burn that sounds like Seattle grunge but 15 years ahead of time. Easy to see why Seattle's grunge bands were such huge fans of Heart.

Fantastic song, I was 13 years old when this came out. The 80s were a magical time for music/videos. Hair bands and true entertainers . Not realizing that the 90s were going to be huge with the birth of grunge. Its one thing to react but to actually live and experience it. Savong your allowence money and going to the record store to buy the newest cassette tape of your favorite bands, was off the charts. Being the envy of all your friends because you just got the newest Def Leppard or Guns and roses etc. thanks Tasha ATB from 🇨🇦

I had to go on a sleep-away school trip in 85... was almost ten. My mom gave me a her-made cassette with this, and other shittier 1985 bangers... the Wilson sisters are different

My first REAL concert was Heart back in 1976. I have been a Heart fan since then. I have many of their albums. HOWEVER, I STRONGLY advise that you go watch you tube videos of them performing today. They do not sound anything like they did back then. Ann cannot hit the high notes anymore and frequently puts the microphone out to the audience to let them sing those notes. I don’t begrudge anyone trying to keep their legacy going but there are singers that need to hang it up now, Heart being one of them along with Paul McCartney and Pat Benatar (who I have seen many times in concert) Go look at singers from the Flower Power Cruise 2024 or the many other nostalgia tours that singers from the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s are on. It is cringe worthy. I am 71 years old and it is embarrassing to listen to this. I will give credit to both Ringo Starr and The Rolling Stones for still being able to sing and perform well. And I also realize that legends like Paul McCartney have fans go see him because he IS such an iconic legend but he needs to retire. His legacy is cemented for all time. This is strictly my opinion. If you actually believe that everyone that I’ve mentioned is at the top of their performing game today, then so be it.
