To be honest, this is very expected of Pacquiao considering the renewed image he has with his religion and beliefs. However, it really cannot be seen as inclusive if he stresses his point too much. He could have probably just said that he is not for it but is willing to listen to the opinion of the other side. But maybe he’s also saying that this issue is non-negotiable to him. So in that effect, I respect him maintaining his stance.

Filipinos need to understand the difference between a civil union and a (Catholic/Christian) marriage. Not everyone in the country is Catholic/Christian and if Manny wants to preach the word of God, then tell him to build a church and not run for public office. The president is an executive head of the state that represents all Filipinos, not just Catholics/Christians. Manny doesn’t belong in the government of which there should be a separation of church and state.

Following script and books that were most likely mistranslated and following the ideals of the people of the past who used religion as an excuse to exert power is not something I think is progressive. Besides Spain has already legalized it, so i don't get why we can't? I have not experienced the joy you say it gives me, i have only seen how people treat each other differently once they realize they don't conform to the "right" way of living. It is not progressive. No culture from before was pure and did no bad, but are you really saying that it was okay that people were oppressed and exploited? It's bad period, you are allowed to like things that colonialism has brought, like the food, fiestas, and culture, but you should never forget how and why it happened.
Go read a history book, oh, and actually try and learn about Pre-colonial philippines. The pre-colonial philippines had a different view of gender and sexuality, it would be considered lgbt friendly today, you were allowed to change your gender identity, women were respected and had authority, and the people didn't see the difference between one couple who was same sex and the other wasn't. Pre-colonial philippines had a society, they weren't dumb people smashing rocks together, they had a language and society, and it was destroyed.
Though I don't agree with his stance (because I'm gay who dreams to have same sex partner in the future), I love how he never changed it despite of backlash. Just continue exercising your faith but at least allow those who can't conform to your faith to have their own harmless and loving life.

As long as it is legal, meaning a bill must passp into law. It is in the constitution that the union must be for man and woman. Personally my stand is against, I feel it taboo, biologically can't imagine but I respect their decision with all my heart. We have different ways to enjoy God given life. As long as I'm not aggravated, my privacy, my profession, my job, my family then you go for it. I don't understand as for now, God said go and multiply for male and female, but their clan is also multiplying with + which means still counting. I'm afraid that the straight male and female will in compromise soon. This matter is actually a matter of choice. Make the union legal and let them pay the tax. If I insist on my stance on the ground of ethics, one week of heated argument is not enough. I just want to make appeal that they're not deprived with their rights as to Filipino citizens, as to human beings, as they cried foul except maybe the legality of union, even in paying taxes. Same sex marriage is constitutional (our Constitution is silent about the gender of party). If it's between the man and the woman then Presidential Decree 1083 that allows polygamous marriage in muslim would be unconstitutional. That's why the framers didn't put "a man and a woman" in the Constitution because it would be discriminatory to polygamous marriage od Muslim (between a man and many women).
I mean no one is forcing straight people to take gay marriage the same way how religious people enforce the idea of heteronormativity and patriarchy on gay people. Our law is PUBLIC and SECULAR not religious
It’s not about happiness. They are deprived of marriage rights. The Rights that only legally married couples can do. For example, They cant visit their partner in the hospital because they aren’t spouses. also, religion should not be meddling with government

Wouldn't the laws that protect all citizens rights be the laws that protects LGBQ+ citizens rights?. If they do not than that is a problem with the governments enforcement of current law, right? To give the extra rights would be unconstitutional. No?

Forgot it was a Filipino artical. Good point. But legally, I'm more for civil unions. Marriage is more of a religious thing in my eyes. My opinion is the state does not have the right or authority to sanction a religious act, in general. I that sense there are several issues where the state involves itself to much. That said. A civil union, by definition, is for the legal state recognition of an action. For mainly reasons like child support, legal inharitance... . medical and life insurance for dependents.... I'm curious, what are some other unequal issues here that the state enforces?
@@jmr1512000 actually some religious sects do allow gay marriage. I think it should be up to the sect if they want to officiate a marriage. There should also be religious freedom. If it is outside of a religious event it would be called a civil union.

We have high regard with LGBTQ+, but to redefine marriage which was instituted by God is a grave sin before Him.

How can anyone call this a presidential debate when there is no one debating. Another problem is these questions were not on the spot questions. The questions were given out prior to this show.. if the questions were on the spot then each candidate would have to thi k real hard and will say like "UM and UH". As it clearly shows each candidate had their answers prepared. Especially leni Lebredo. Compare her to all her other speeches she has given out even on her campaigns. She says UH and UM. Nothing in her speeches are perfect but in this show all her answers were to rehearsed. Even MONTEMAYOR said it himself this isn't a debate. If this was a debate everyone woukd be using their brains. This is more like a beauty pageant were questions were already known and and answers were rehearsed. And another thing why isn't too many questions given to leni lebredo? Always the same people get picked on. One last. The host said that there are 9 out of 10 candidate present meaning not enough time. They knew it was going to be a debate and there were alot of candidate then they should of given this show more time to give all candidate enough time to answer and give others time to debate the candidate's answer. Why does Isko have a copy of receipt meaning that the questions were given out prior to the program. How woukd he know that someone woukd ask him about the money? This show is rigged. CNN should of done a better job. Presidential debate then make it a debate and not a pageant. And why do they keep on saying 9 out of 10 candidate's present. People can see that BBM isn't there but yet keep on printing out thelat one candidate isn't present. This show is based. How many questions has leni answered? Mangondato can answer better than leni. Also during the SMNI presidential debate where were the other candidate's that say its important for a candidate to be present and present their platform. I say let there be a real presidential debate where the questions are not given out prior to the show. All the questions come from audience and who they are for and give each candidate to debate. Thats a real debate. Rigged show. Rigged show. How come there isn't 1 million viewers for this show. When BBM had his presidential debate with SNMI over one million viewers. This show isn't worth the country's time because they are sure who they will bite for. And thats BBM . 9 candidates and not even 1 million viewers with 3 candidate's during the SNMI over one million viewers meaning they are interested in what BBM has to say. How he can answer on the spot questions . Questions that are not given put prior to show. CNN should be ashamed of themselves for doing what they have done. During the SNMI debate they did need to say that there were only 3 out of 10 candidate's present. People can see that there were only 3 candidate's present. There was no need to make a question saying How important is it for a candidate to to show up for a presidential debate. But since you did answer that question it just falls on the candidate's face because they didn't show up for the presidential debate priority this show. How embarassing is this tv show to even to do this. It only goes to show that this a based program and that shouldn't even host an even like this.
BBM did not attend as the questions were not given out prior to the debate. Him not being able to rehearse is the main reason he did not attend.
You lost me at the attendants being rehearsed because they didn’t have fillers like “uh” and “uhm” - people who are used to public speaking will always show confidence and will always rise to the occasion especially when rehearsed. BBM did not attend because he knows that attending meant him showing his lack of speaking abilities and making sense. Much like Sara who cannot handle pressure and would resort to insults and shaming when pressured.
