    Request for a practical way to help: mixing colours on the palette. It is helpful to see sped up on many of your videos, but what about one that focuses on those little techniques and brush work, amount of paint to add, cleaning brush between colours, and such.
    As you say elsewhere, different paintlines have different results in colour result, and that's not what I mean. I mean more about the actual techniques of mixing colours. This is something I struggle with personally.
    Thanks!

    What would be suitable colours from popular miniature paint ranges to create the zorn palette? For example, I have a whole bunch of vallejo reds, but I'm not sure which would be the closest to cadmium red!

    • @mikepearse5196
      @mikepearse5196 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can rock the exercise by picking the colors. You really do not need to think like it's inside a box.
      Grab a red along w a yellow and blue. Add in black and white and have a blast.
      I paint with burnt sienna yellow ochre black and white. Tons of fun.

    • @paulmichel5883
      @paulmichel5883 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The problem with using typical miniature paint is that they are often not pure pigment, so they don't mix well which sucks for limited palettes. Typically they might contain some amount of white which makes it hard to mix a deep desaturated green with black and yellow ochre without ending up with something grayish for instance. So as far as hues are concerned you can substitute anything that looks remotely like a primary red and a yellow ochre, but I would test the mixes beforehand.

    this is what it was like for us all in the old days as kids we could only afford the basic 8 colour set from citadel but thats all we needed as we mixed and made are own colours as we move on in the years and companies start to appear dedicated to paints we just started getting hooked to them. i have myself i got the box set of army paints. tbh half the colours in it are just paler shades of the colour next to it. rather than colours we would use. if i want a gray i will make it from black and white if i want a blue gray etc so over the years we now just reach for the colour we need rather than making it from a limited pallet. we are all guilty of this. we all have paints we hardly use etc. we fall into the marketing gimmick thinking more is better. when we was kids we only had a limited amount of sweets in the shop. it was easy to pick the ones we loved. now like paints you spend 20 mins staring and wondering what paint or sweet we want. great video. great paint job. as expected :)
