  • In this short clip we are trying out Natural Polymers 2lb HFO closed cell foam. We have been using Demilec 2lb HFO closed cell foam for the last 5 years and really like it best above all others we had sprayed up to that point. Unfortunately, Demilec from Huntsman Building Solutions has been in short supply so we may need to switch suppliers until they can provide an adequate supply to support our needs. Only time will tell with the COVID-19 supply chain issues everyone is having. #satisfying Spray Foam

    For any Brits thinking about doing this, banks will not give anyone a mortgage to buy a house until it is removed making your house unsellable. Your better off using something like rockwool, kingspan or superfoil. Cheaper, cleaner, better for the environment, less chance of it turning toxic and easier to remove if you ever need to.

    • @seanwood1791
      @seanwood1791 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Also Rockwall is toxic and really bad for people with asthma

    • @WhiteManInAVan
      @WhiteManInAVan ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@seanwood1791 also there are thousands of cases of spray foam insulation being far more toxic if it doesn't cure properly (which it seems not to a an alarming high rate) and rockwool is not toxic, its only harmful if you breathe in the fibres. Solution = where a mask when you go into the loft, unlike spray foam, which when done badly actually releases extremely toxic fumes into the environment making your house inhabitable.

    • @WhiteManInAVan
      @WhiteManInAVan ปีที่แล้ว

      @@seanwood1791 what a load of BS. Shows you know nothing about British mortgage surveys. Check out the guidance by the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors. They quite clearly state that spray foam insulation will make your house unmortgageable and thats why the same companies also have spray foam removal services.

      Foam is now so expensive that if having to pay up front many smaller companies will not have the on-hand cash to do it.

      Sick and tired of people spreading the lie that this stuff is “extremely flammable”, like its made of gasoline or something. Its not, do some research. I believe most if not all residential spray foam insulations are class 1 fire rated. You know what IS extremely flammable? Wood! But there sure is a ton of that in everyone’s home.

      This is well known "unvented roof" insulation system as prescribed in the building codes. Sometimes referred to as a "hot roof" system. This has been around for decades and works well as long as the insulation is closed cell foam and not "fibertrash".

    • @liammcgarrigle
      @liammcgarrigle ปีที่แล้ว

      @@KyleSonSprayFoamInsulation while fiberglas is trash against a roofline, it would be stupid to write it off for any application. A line like that would make me not want to work with someone

    • @KyleSonSprayFoamInsulation
      @KyleSonSprayFoamInsulation  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@liammcgarrigle Well, I've seen multiple failures in every scenario where fiberglass can be used for insulation, hence my opinion of the product. I will say it could provide a certain measure of sound dampening if used in interior bathroom walls, but rock wool works better for that. If someone is on a limited budget, then I would recommend cellulose instead of fiberglass. Not really applicable in this situation though.

      Not rot. They probably had a ventilation issue and that causes the nails to become rusty and create black spots in the wood. No need for venting with foam, so the problem is solved
