- This video details the steps to remove the front Accord hub rotor bearing assembly along with calipers. This task is time consuming and will require patience. It is indeed a long video, but details ALL steps needed to get the end result.
I need to replace one lug nut screw. So I just need to remove the hub from my 95. Do I have to remove all that? Or is there an easier way?
Obed Morales, if you are talking about needing to only replace a single lug STUD (the threaded part that the lug nut goes on to hold the tire), you are correct in that you DO NOT have to remove the entire hub assembly to do that. Once you get the tire off, jacked up of course, you should be able to turn the steering all the way left or right to get the best access to the back of the hub assembly. Once you've done this, rotate the tire until the stud you need out is in the easiest viewing area from the back side of hub. Take a small beater hammer (min sledge, whatever you call it) and pound the stud out from the front on the tip of it. Avoid hitting the rotor or hub with any large force from hammering. The stub has a ribbed collar around it that gives it a friction seal into the hub itself. Once it comes free from using the hammer, it should be accessible to get it out from the back. You may have to rotate the tire some to find the most easy spot to get the stud past the hub edge. The new one going in, goes in the same way the old one came out, except that once in the hole, remount the tire and put the lug not on this bolt alone, and tighten down as hard as you can. This will force those ribbs on the bolt into the hole where they are pressed against the wall and seal the bolt into place.
where did you go for the hub and bearing
Auto zone and ebay.
