Macc, good looking set up. My 5500 is at Road Master getting a sleeper now. What gears did you go with? I ordered mine with the 430 something gears instead of the 488s hoping for better mileage. I am also thinking on getting the plastic fenders off for fabricated steel fenders mounted higher. On my 3500 with a tractor kit I would have to remove the fenders to chain up. I hope never to need to, but hopes not a plan lol. Also the tubing used to mount steel fenders could have boxes mounted on them for more storage. As to the CM bed, it will just hide whatever rusts. Salt spray is going to go where it goes and a bed just makes it harder to wash. You did good with your choices.
I just ordered a Ram 4500 last week and as soon as it comes in it's going to Roadmaster! How long has your 5500 been there? You gettin all the bells and whistles?
@@DrSamBeckett its going to be pretty loaded and the biggest sleeper. I ordered a 120CA truck. its been there about 3 weeks and its said they have a 12 to 14 week back log right now.
@@rodmyers5187 That's awesome man! I ordered the 120CA as well. 4500 SLT 4.10 gears with a few upgraded features. My Roadmaster sleeper is priced at about 26k right now, but it'll certainly be worth it. My truck probably won't even be in until June or July
Good looking rig, you did it the right way those 3500’s are to light to work them the way these guys do and then they complain they keep breaking down, if your gonna do Hot Shot you gotta go with 5500 or bigger

Only downside is the insurance is more it won't pull anymore weight than a 3500 because of derate and truck weight tires brakes are double the price and the ride will kill your back but keep moving and stay safe

You didn't want to just get the CM Hotshot bed? It already comes with the fuel tank platform, toolboxes on each side under the platform plus a headache rack with lights. And it's interchangeable between GN & 5th wheel hitches.
@@HotshotMacc they're pretty close in comparison, TBH. I do dig the CM HS bed though. Trying to get my hands on one because I had a blow out on my dually and it fucked up my factory bed.

I like the 5500 video you have done the point you have made I wanted a 3500 but seeing how the 5500 is more stout built this would be a better choice yeah fuel mileage might suck but you got to have great equipment to do a great job
I took a referral to get the $20, but found driving .5 mi away from the truck stop it's $.30 or more cheaper. The truck stops are just marking it up, to mark it down
Thanks bro! For non cdl I’d recommend 2500 or 3500 SRW to keep weight down, but if CDL is in the plans go with Dually that way you won’t have to stress upgrading the truck but only the trailer.

Truck is awesome. Got that 100g tank is great. Although fuel is $5.00 per gallon now. Crazy times. I use Mudflap and have saved a ton of 💰
