I want to see the girl more. Love the ram 5500 .84 inch is what I would buy. I think I want one in the limited trim. Now I’m cruising with a 3500 mega cab Dooley from 2014. Limited have you heard about all the ram trucks that leak from the third brake light or the sunroof or is it the rear window trim even our 2006 leaks which is also a mega cab. The one truck we have which does not leak is our dually 2006 quad cab, no sunroof, .my dream is to get the 5500 and put a 12 foot toolbox bed on it we do construction and repairs .we think the money is in plumbing and electrical. Thinking about hooking up the car charging stations or maybe even solar panels. The guy on the river told me if you don’t want to be homeless, don’t quit working, you guys are killing it and inspiration to us all. Thanks man for showing your set up. This is a great truck. I got a 22 ram 5500 myself and I’m pairing it up with a 53’ stepdeck that should arrive any day now. My 40’ big Tex was a great trailer but I needed the upgrade

5500 actually pulls less weight because of de rate and no software to tune or delete the 5500 insurance is substantially more expensive plus resale or trade value is poor because it's a partial Vin most dealers won't take on trade.. the only benefit is bigger brakes she rides rough but gets the job done good luck macc you killing it
Idk bro but my experience is different. I wasn’t too focused on what it can pull. It pulls what I need it to do and with the 4:44 ratio my mpg is great. Insurance from my non cdl set up (2500) was only $100 more. The main negative is the rough ride but that can be corrected with airbags. I really like the fact that the drives are rated to 13500. Huge difference. Appreciate the feedback bro 💪🏽💯
@@HotshotMacc it reads the truck info from being plug into the port, the Bluetooth goes to your phone/tablet, it’s reads you are driving from the port.
Nice setup, preventive tip where u have your cb cable running into the back of the cab take u a piece of rubber hose and cut a slit and place it on the metal hole some it cut the cable over time
Like the set up looks great. Just had issues with the trailer brake controller showing "check trailer brake wiring" then went completely disconnected. Had to get a curt aftermarket to get it to work. "Emergency status" once I got it to ram dealership turned out how wires in dash where ran it was grounding out on metal dash support. Just a friendly heads up and some support. A back up brake controller may be a good idea. As it took 6 hours out of my work day locating one for a ram. Stay moving bro

Yes, he needs a CDL because in California at least anything over 10,000 pounds on the trailer, including the weight of the trailer requires a class A license

Do you put a tune on that engine? Seems the weak point in the system.. The torque and hp, is the offset of the higher gearing in the back end make up the difference? Tow more seems it could be wanting for a bit more horse and torque.. ?

why hotshot? why not a semi truck single axle with a 48 or 53' step? You will make way more money and less maintenance. also have a sleeper. If you can get into a semi, I would. hotshot market is really cheap right now as well. I ran hotshot for 3 years then purchased a semi from auction and a 48' flatbed. best thing I did. The hotshot game is saturated.

Out of the 2 i would have spent the extra money and got the 3500 it would be a better truck overall. Also that truck was cheap because it is a basic work truck model!
Personal preference my guy. And exactly, makes more sense for me to pay for a work truck that I’m using for work rather than a “nice” pick up truck with less drive axle capability. So I disagree, it’s not a better truck overall.
