I just started to look into hotshotting and I stumbled upon your older videos from 2 years ago. Out of curiosity on how you’re doing, I decided to check your newer videos. My goodness how your business has grown! Amazing! Even your personality is different. You seemed humble and nervous, now you’re so confident and you’re a pro! Congratulations!
Man that’s awesome to hear! Not everyone can view it that way. We’ve definitely come a long way and it has not been an easy road, we just continue to believe and put the hard work in and always remain a student to the game. Thank you for this feedback, it was definitely needed 🙏🏽🫡💯
Everything looks good, man. I will give you a little advice from experience. That little small fire extinguisher won't do c*** In 2019my truck caught on fire In Missouri I had the same Fire extinguisher it last for 3 seconds. If it wasn't for the road crew working Across the street, my truck and trailer and load Wood have burnt up. Get you three 10 pound fire extinguishers. That's what it took to put my fire out on my engine.
Man that’s great advice! I’m going to consider getting more now just in case!! Sorry to hear that about the truck but good to hear the crew was there to help and reduce the severity of the situation 💪🏽🫡💯
Great video and awesome rig setup.. Not a hotshotter but like watching other successful people showing their business off. Keep it real.. thumbs up man!
When I was trying to avoid tint for DOT I used to take and cutout an 8" drop in visor for the front windows. Like the semi's have but instead of aluminum they're just cut up pieces of the foil we used as window shades. Keeps a lot of the sun out and can be taken out at any time. I loved them but now that I'm out I run 5% stacked tint. Tint laws are bs. I love how much it regulates the inside temperature of the truck.
Man that’s smart bro! I got me a lil window shade that I put up when the sun is beaming lol but yeah bro the tint regulations are out of control. Appreciate the feedback bro!
Been following you from the beginning and you’ve come along way. I have now entered the hotshot industry since all my box trucks are running smoothly. I will continue to follow for tips and tricks. Blessings brother. And info would be greatly appreciated. Running a non-cdl set up.
Appreciate the support from day 1 bro 🙏🏽🫡💯. Welcome to the hotshot lane, sounds like you are growing and that awesome man! My advice would be to work towards getting your CDL but until then build your contact list. Learn the partial game, hopefully you have a 40ft trailer. Rates aren’t so great right now so being patient is key. Negotiate every load even if it’s paying good. Go for the lightest loads paying the most money. It will be a challenge but you have to hustle and know where to put your equipment. Keep growing and stay safe out there 🫡💯
That’s what’s good, man! Love the setup! I’ve been doing a lot of researching myself but I just need a chance in life to succeed. If you need a driver for that no cdl truck…on my kids I’ll be the one for you. God bless! Stay safe!🙏🏽

Appreciate that bro. Just personal preference and business model. Bigger truck don’t always means more money. It’s all about using Speacialized equipment
Now, that's a good video!!! I used a fan, but the milwaukee battery operated fan. That way my m18 batteries would stay rotated in use when needed for tools.
Nice setup. I would be interested in the numbers such as empty axle weights, gross capacity, cost vs pickup truck with smaller trailer , mpg ect. Seems like this set up really fills a sweet spot between noon-cdl or even the the rigs just into the cdl range and a full semi with step deck.
Been watching you guys for a minute, finally applied for my authority last week. You guys have been an inspiration! Love your setup. Can you do a vid on filling out BOLs properly (tips etc. I know some brokers won't want to pay if receiver signature/info is not properly on it)?

Hey brother! Thanks man! When I load and unload I go “on duty” and in the notes type “load or unload”. You load an unload time will only count against your drive time if you’ve used the 3hr difference between your 14hr shift and your drive time. Hope that helps bro 🫡💯

Thanks bro!! Sounds like you got a dope setup. You running a stepdeck or the fmax? And great plan brother, stay safe out there and keep them wheels turning 🫡💯
I respect the set up you have and you're happy with it, but did you ever look into the Roadmaster conversions that they have for trucks like yours? A crew cab with the sleeper will give you some more room for your cooler and getting dressed in the morning. 😁 Maybe when you have some down time you can look at them for giggles. Maybe your next truck. 😁 If I see you up here in Kansas or on the road, coffee's on me. Good luck!

Does that hotshot CM bed automatically make your truck classified as a tractor? I kept getting hemmed up running a 40 foot with a pickup bed. I was exceeding 65 foot in total length. Hey bro, yes my custom tractor bed allows me to register the set up as a tractor allowing me to ignore the 65ft rule. Most of the hotshot setups with a 40ft are over 65ft if you have mega ramps. If you remove the bed you can register it as a tractor and not have to worry about that 65ft nonsense. Ive been hearing a lot of ppl getting hemmed up by DOT bc of it.
Buying the tradesmen dually truck including all the modifications like CM bed at the back just the truck itself what did you spend ? I’m really curious about the amount of cash you need for a truck just like that .

Thanks bro, with the trailer having the deck over the neck, empty I get about 9mpg. I did one container but it wasn’t a normal container. It was a modified container that was about 12ft high. You guys that think you're going to start out between now and 3 years ago don't have the right mindset. This guy is just like all them buttons on Facebook that we tried to tell over and over. They finance themselves into a big ass hole then they basically have to live in the truck.
I feel you but nah that’s for the ones that only focus on the truck have to live in there. Not me. It’s debt but which business are you getting into these days without getting in debt? Ill wait. Unless you gain capital from a grant or other entities you don’t have to pay back then yeah that’s the perfect route but we don’t live in a perfect world. So please don’t categorize me with anyone else on this planet. But quick question…how have you tried to tell these guys over and over? In the comment section? Maybe create a platform that has a larger reach and show what you talking about?
She came with me many times but it is a challenge every time. Space is tight in these trucks. It’s more ideal for a 1 person operation but many make 2 work. Just depends on how you guys make it work.
@@trevey16 all those seem really fresh if say nothing over 80k for reliability. But if your mechanically inclined you can get one with a bit more miles. $50k isn't bad for those miles and you don't really need a 5500 to do the job. Really look into the 3500 high output they can tow more than the 5500
I’m getting them installed right now as we speak lol but why you say that? I like the option to change out my oil without having to remove the cap and they are more durable.
Bro you don't even have a sleeper like I seen in some other better hotshot setups. Took you years to buy a good a/c. How you gonna say ultimate when 2 people can't sleep comfortably in that truck. Highly doubt is a 150k setup when truck is a tradesmen lol and is only around 70k.
Lol. You must have watched the video and not listen but I get it, everyone’s attention span varies. I clearly stayed “MY”. I’m not comparing my setup to anyone else with a sleeper or what they got. And this isn’t a semi nor does it have a sleeper so yeah it’s not going to be as comfortable for 2. That’s obvious. Not sure why it matters to you when I got an ac unit 🤣 Another irrelevant statement hence the reason I’ve now stated this is my ultimate setup. One thing your right about is, it is a tradesman that was 70k but what you aren’t aware of is the taxes, extended warranties and other expenses like the custom bed build on the chassis. So before you go around on TH-cam with assumptions and unnecessary comments, get your facts straight and leave the hate in your truck or whatever it is your doing. 😎

Could’ve bought a Peterbuilt and rentouir trailer.
Yeah buts that’s not what happened.
Do you ride with your lady? Will 2 people fit fine or is it a 1 person operation?
She came with me many times but it is a challenge every time. Space is tight in these trucks. It’s more ideal for a 1 person operation but many make 2 work. Just depends on how you guys make it work.
Let me take an apprentice ride
Lol 150k🥴🥴mannnn I wanna invest in this. Get a business auto loan, get a 5500, get a driver and dispatch. Am I thinkin right?
Get it used for half the price
@@kingmach1621 how many miles is too many? I see a 2019 at $57k wit 88k miles. Another 2021 $56k at 50k miles.
@@trevey16 all those seem really fresh if say nothing over 80k for reliability. But if your mechanically inclined you can get one with a bit more miles. $50k isn't bad for those miles and you don't really need a 5500 to do the job. Really look into the 3500 high output they can tow more than the 5500
@@kingmach1621 whattttt? 3500 tow more than a 5500? Appreciate it
@@trevey16 the high output 3500 do
Not the but my🤙
Don’t waste your money on those hub caps bro
I’m getting them installed right now as we speak lol but why you say that? I like the option to change out my oil without having to remove the cap and they are more durable.
that aint 150 if you lucky maybe 60
Ok
@@HotshotMacc YOU GOING TO ADD WHAT YOU SPEND ALSO ON FOOD LOL
@@HotshotMacc there is always one hater in every group. He probably can't achieve anything you have. Keep up the work and steam forward.
@@mwattss524 I don’t know where they find the time for that energy. It’s gotta be draining. I appreciate you for the support and likewise bro keep moving forward 🫡💯
You can’t afford one ,stop the hate and appreciate.
That's crazy if you spent that kind of m9ney on a pickup and trailer
Yeah that would be crazy in a market like this but thankfully its worth the 150k but I didn’t spend that
How have the boards been
Lol
Been great for us with having the different options on the trailer. Allows us to negotiate better and take other loads that a basic hotshot cannot take. Of course rates are messed up so we do feel the effect but we’ve been able to sustain with the boards and our contacts.
