Those S10s will get some wheels with that 4.3 I had the same body style with a long bed 5spd man I could burn tires threw 4th gear easy. Great truck better grab that I would buy that for the right price,

Mach 1 was hard to watch. What a beautiful car it once was. I have fond memories driving my uncle's all around town. His was a 4 speed so lots of rolling burnouts 😃

That S10 is really cool! Reminds me of high school in the mid 90s. One of my friends had a similar 2wd reg cab/short bed with the 4.3 in it, I think it was a 92 or 93. That thing was a blast.....good little burnout machine and since it still had the older non electronic automatic in it you could hold it in first and accelerate then move it to second and it would bark the tire(s). Used to crack us up.....silly things high schoolers do. Don't see them around anymore here in salt belt....maybe once in awhile but mainly the guys that run around and pick up metal scrap on garbage night with rotted out ones.

The s10 is perfect for your channel. Simple junkyard column, a replacement rear window, a paint job from weird beard in the original turquoise. Man it will be a 5k time machine when done.
That S10 is a no-brainer. It might take a little time to find the parts, but it should be pretty easy to find them for sensible money. It would be worth trying cutting the primer off the outside as, if it was a quick blow over to hide the colour then there's not much there that'll need taking off and you could be back to decent paint. My guess would be that the last owner put the primer on it as they were getting ready to repaint it to deal with faded paint. But it's a 55,000 mile truck so it's still worth good money, so it should be money in the bank any day of the week...

My car needs the seats, door panels, and especially that console and guage cluster treatment. The ram air system would be sweet as well. Oh well I can dream. We had a 92 S-10 looked just like this one. Ours was red. Best small truck we had. We sold it with over 250k we still see it riding around town 10 years later. Can't beat an old 4.3L S-10!!
Anything is repairable but if the frame was bent (tbd..) probably not worth the effort. Definitely a good parts car with mint interior & running engine. Parts alone cars worth a couple of grand..
My mom and stepdad both had that same square bodied S10s, my mom had a 91 with a 2.8 V6 with a 5 speed manual and my stepdad had a 93 with a 4.3 V6 with a 4 speed automatic...awesome trucks
That is so sad The Mach 1 and 3 is my 3nd favorite class muscle car. First is the 66 Shelby cobra and the 2nd is the Buick GS stage one I got for my channel. My friends a cobra Mach 1 looks just like that one

I had a 72 Mach 1, 351C C6 but it wasn't a ram air car. Grabber blue w/ white and black interior, but the hood stripe and the side stripe was more gray than silver.. It got a lot of attention but people don't realize how BIG those cars are until you drive one & when you do be ready to be using your side mirrors A LOT, because even though the rear window is larger than most other cars of that era it's raked at an angle that gives the driver about 6-10 inches of visibility when looking back thru it from the drivers seat. It was pretty and it was sharp but it was also a boat on wheels with huge blind spots..
That XC-60 would be awesome, looks like only a little work and I don't know about your area but here in AZ they are a fast and easy sell. You hardly see them lasting on lots, even at that age. Great SUV, can't beat the comfort, with a fairly fuel efficient engine.
On the S10-LKQ and get a steering column with a key in it. Or have one made. Total $200-250 (best guess) $300 Maaco paint job. $50-60 for a tire. I like that one a lot.
Randy, about the 71 mach. I restored a 69 mustang convertible that was just about as bad. If a person wants to take the time and effort just about every part you can think of is available for these Mustangs. the value is in the vin plate that tells you that it is the genuine article.
Love the S-10. No worrys about the primer its a blank slate to paint whatever you want. I wish I could find one in that condition here in the Northeast, but all gone to Chevy heaven. Lol.
Question for @Angelo Bovara: It has been a while since I was considering a 71-73 rebuild and restoration, but the '71 had more HP than the 72 & 73 because of new emissions rules. The 351 4V was at or near the Boss HP level maybe 5 HP lower and easy to bump up well past the Boss OEM HP? Does that sound right generally? If had seen the video before the auction I would have been on a plane to OK to at least have a look and very likely buy it. If it couldn't be fixed, and I think it could, the parts on that puppy would make a fine Mach I for another body. I have a '92 Camaro Z28 in one bay of my garage and I'd love to put that Mustang project next to it. Actually, to hell with that Camaro I only bought it because I couldn't find a Mach I to restore. Camaro has 40K miles and a straight body and I practically stole it for $800, but a Mustang is a Mustang!

These days I have a 2013 Corvette with Edelbrock E-Force supercharger. Its going in for bigger fuel sys., more boost, bigger camshaft, exhaust system, oh!and more boost and a dyno tune. Goal is 600 HP at wheels.

Back in the day the most desired was a 351 Cleveland with a Canadian block. The assumption being that the Canadian iron and steel was of higher quality. Now, if it doesn't have "LS" in the name you get no respect...
Go for the S10 it will look great all fixed up and I would paint it bright red to make it stand out like it should as a real mini truck should. Mine was and I was when I had mine.
I work at an auto body shop in Missouri.. The Audi looks like one of those right on the line. Everything is bought new 16, 17 an up usually from the dealer so the parts pricing is almost double then you think. Paint everything that's new & blending anything close the the new panels shop labor $50/hr an up. It just adds up quickly. Idk the retail on that but say 45k::: 6k-10k or more parts and 3k-5k for labor & materials. I don't do estimates but I'd say that's a good guess..
I hope you pick up the S-10. It would be a nice project like the other truck was.. I can see lots of good content like you visiting a junkyard for the parts...
I had that exact S-10. I'd get it for sure. Cheap column from a junk yard, and back window. Could even go with a solid glass cheaper. MAACO Blue Paint Job, be a nice get around truck or quick sale with a good re-sale for that awesome mileage!! In Texas the value for that truck is 2500-2700. With those miles I bet the right person would pay 3000. I know I would've.. Good luck!!
for the s10, do a rustolium roller paint job or a maco special, and replace the column, tailgate and rear window.. I'd suspect it to go for scrap price .. could be a quick easy flip if you get it for scrap price.. or just tear it apart and part it out on ebay, then scrap the body.
Great video thanks. That Mach 1 could be a great fixer for someone that has the cash and time to do it all up and make it great again. Half the battle is the fact it ran and ran like the champ it is. I was personally looking at the body lines on it when you closed the doors it looked pretty straight yet even though it has so much damage in the driver side fender area. I was a bit worried about the back end though and how the rear passenger wheel looked so bit out of place.
Randy, Chevy S-10 is a great find. You can get some good content if you get this one. The mustang was such a heartbreak to see. Weird beard should get involved to get that and save her. The Volvo XC60 would be a good content and quick flip. The Audi would be a heck of a pit to try.
A V8 and strong rearend swap on a S10 like that is INCREDIBLY popular and would vastly increase the value and make it worth owning. (well to someone short enough to fit in it. My mom's best friend had one when I was 13 and I was already too tall for it then and I'm a foot taller now) The big problem with Audis is that the parts just aren't available on most models, they just don't make them and a professional body shop/insurance company will NEVER allow second hand parts on a vehicle. 351 4V.. if that's not just a sticker and actually the engine that's in it, that engine is worth about 7-12k on it's own.

Get the S10 truck, a lot of young guys love them for a LS engine swap.
I'd take it just as it is for the occasional hauling job. Take the battery out and it won't be likely to get stolen again.

S10 cab is dented in the back both sides. Might have had a rougher life than you think.
