Wow, I loved all the small bits of info that you packed in this video, like how (not) to use pedals in a turn! I never really flew helicopters with the old sims like FSX. But I tried the HPG H135 in MSFS and was hooked immediately. Proceeded to the H145 (my most flown aircraft in MSFS), tried the AirlandFS freeware helis, and now have a new favourite in the Asobo Cabri G2.
When you want to descend you always lead with power first then increase the pitch to adjust airspeed. Before take off you need to check your hover torque at 10 feet in the direction of takeoff. This will give you an idea what power setting you need to get to during landing/ takeoff. your Torque is everything in a helicopter. Love your video!
Thank you! You always have the best and most informative videos! I would be nowhere in flight Sim without all your videos. I would love to see a video of helicopter practice exercises that we could do to get better. It is easy to just get lost and always do the same mistakes without a teacher. Keep up the great work!
Thank you for these videos I’m really enjoying them and love flying around in the little Cabri. At about 5:03 you said apply a bit of left foot. Was that correct as the ball was slightly to the right? I thought you’d need a touch of right foot to centre it but I’m new to these contraptions so may very well misunderstand them. Learning how to fly “coordinated” is a bit different to fixed wing I’m sure. Also once cruising, do you need to keep the ball centered and if so can you trim the pedal force out? I find to keep the ball centered requires constant pedal force which gets tiring after a while. Thanks. 👍
Thank you so much for these. I was totally messing things up. My brain collective controls up down. So I've been trying to fly and everyday I lose lift I just pull collective and exceed engine limits and fall out of the sky.
As always a great video. I enjoy your enthusiasm and sense of humour (Canadian Spelling). If I may make a small suggestion: It would be helpful to show the actual movement of the collective and the other controls as you are doing your maneuvers - this way I could try and mimic what you are doing. I am a visual learner and need to see what you are doing with the controls. Thanks again.
I've been straglin with Cabri for a week! It is a joy to fly but pain in the neck to taxi and land. I am using T16000, also have Alfa+Bravo so tried T1600+Bravo, also Cesssna Ruder pedals. I sucessfuly flied Robinson R44 with 75% dificultu AirlandFS, and the collector was way less inert. On cabri it is jut impossible to stabilize the Helicopter. Go with VS 500ft/s than slowly add collector, but it goes down! Need to go the collector all the way up to stop it, then adain down and up... It is like when the car starts oversteer and goes into the spin and you try catching it. The same with the collector. I've set the secsitivity to -75%, and try moving HOGAS sooo gently but can't make it go down smoothly. It either goes down as a falling stone, or gets airbone. Tried Bravo but no much difference. With AirlandsFS it was much easier with the hovering.
It’s too bad you make look waaaaayyy to easy and then I get totally frustrated when I try. I would be helpful to know, maybe, what sensitivities you have set for the cyclic and rudder. I use a spring centered logitek 52 which probably makes it more difficult.
If you click the icon that looks like a check mark, it goes through the startup procedure step by step. The icon is in the 7th one down. Same place where you can change your camera settings.
"Transitional lift"?? So THAT'S how helicopters fly. Right i need to get Orange (james) on the phone and discuss an overhaul on helicopter flight. For a roblox game called Pilot training flight simulator. Or PTFS for short

There actually is a VSI on the Cabri, but you need to look down a little bit to find it.
Absolute best ever Cabri and Heliflopter tutorial I've ever seen, you nailed it... 🙂and my subscription!

Are you using controller?
Pleasee... Do you know how to do a Cold Start from Helipads???

Ever try vr?
You're in assisted mode, yea? Seems way too stable, I don't see the pedals or cyclic moving much at all. Maybe you are really good at this, idk.
