    Thank you for these videos. I’m an absolute beginner at helicopters in the sim and they’re helping me get started.

    Thank you so much Fred! I did not know about input viewer, I learned in DCS this way until it became muscle memory, this will help greatly!

    Thank you for this excellent tutorial! May I say that your taste in aircraft is much better than your taste in title music? :D

    Nice to learn from you - I installed MSFS today and did the same with keyboard ... worked in the same way - but I think it's harder with keyboard. Numpad 8624 + Paddles Numpad 0 and Enter + F2 and F3 for collector I found out 🙂 What I don't know if I have to land on a specific spot on an airfield after I arrived it to finish it, or if it's just okay to land on the runway and taxi to the garages like you did here. Sometimes it shows me nice green bar on the right top, but don't know what it exactly means :-) There is no "Success" button or so :-)

    Very key is to look out in the distance, straight ahead, and pay close attention to the horizon position above the panel when you are in hover. For practice, try sticking the horizon in one spot above the panel, then wait and see what it does in that position. Give it 5 seconds to respond and check, is the helicopter accelerating? If it's going forward, hover will be with the horizon lower, if backwards, it's higher. Find that position and get used to what hover *looks like*. Of course, you're going to need pedals as well if you're flying helicopters without assist, and that's a whole 'nuther dimension to flying helicopters.

    What sensitivity do you use for cyclic axes? Is it the default straight one or have you modified it? Excellent video and series btw, I was really looking forward to hover as it is the most difficult for me, so thanks for the vid.

    • @airlandsim
      @airlandsim  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes al straight sensitivities, thanks for the compliment !

  • @tomas5577
    @tomas5577 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Yes, what sensitivity settings?
    Also,
    What peripherals for cyclic, pedals, and collective?
    How many hours of practice before you made this video?
    I aspire to do as well as you do, but that might be asking too much!
    Thanks for the video, well done.

      I am using a TM16000 with no separate pedals for these tutorials, as I expect most of the people to have a similar rig (so no pedals etc...) . The sensitivities are set as I showed in the Beginners Flight video. I have been flying in sim for many years, and also have about 30 hours training on a real R44...

      @@airlandsim Thank you so much for your quick reply!
      I have the Saitek X52, the spring return for the twist , which is bound to the tail rotor, is quite strong making minute adjustments very tricky, but I can sort of hover and taxi, and plonk it down after a flight.
      I use the white knuckle, teeth grinding method 😖

    For me, there is no hovering. The helicopter just starts wobbling and flips upside down. The game is broken.

      Can assure you it’s not broken. You need to set up your config better
