The best time to visit Rannerdale is when the bluebells are in bloom in May.
This route is 4 miles and includes the bluebells and Rannerdale Knotts 355m and the area is North Western Fells. Great views of Crummock Water and Buttermere. It is a circular route back along rhe Ridge with 1 small section of scrambling. The route then heads back to the Rannerdale Valley and the bluebells.

Hi Tracey, I think that was one of the most beautiful videos I have seen of the Lake District, what it must be like to see with your own eyes and smell must be incredible, beautifully filmed and I love the raptor between you and your sister. Doggos had a nice time too by the looks of it. Cheers Glyn.

Lovely shots of the bluebells in the sun and great views down the Buttermere valley from the top. Terrific views from a small and attractive fell. Looking forward to the next.

Hi Tracey. All the hype about the Rannerdale Bluebells is definately true looking at your video. What an amazing sight! No wonder it was so busy. Looks like you bumped into a bus load at the summit haha that was so funny. All the Best

Hi ladies, Billy and T Bear.
Absolutely beautiful those blue bells and the gorse together just looked amazing. I thought you’d happened on Snowdon summit when I saw all those people on the top! I can only imagine what Andy had been saying if he was there. 🤣🤣
    All the best
    Dave

Wonderful. I got lucky and managed to squeeze in the small car park and walked through the valley, with Rannerdale on my right. I rhen turned right and up the ride and to the top. Along its ridge to the peak and then down the nose. The bluebells were wonderful and was quite emotional not another person about.
I had to do a double take when i saw you and your sister, you both sound the same lol

    Hi Tracey,
Wasn't expecting to see you at Rannerdale after what you were saying about crowds. Bluebells done in Berkshire, but we've just got back from Shropshire where they were perfect, even found a mini Rannerdale. We just don't have open fields of them here. Hope Billy (Oreo) was well behaved with Teddy bear, you once mentioned he can act up a bit with other dogs 🐕 . Your new camera picked up the colours well. Did you manage to see last Fridays light show? I bet even your parents would have seen that in Cornwall. I miss the fish at Buttermere, many a good meal over the last 30 years. Trust you to find a school outing.
    Cheers
    Graham

Hi Graham glad you got to see some bluebells, I did get to see the lights at my home , it was strange to see with rhe naked eye , you could see the shape and outline but it was like a misty cloud until the phone was used and then wow 👌 just class
