I already own a 2006 dobbin, 1.9 jtd. One of the very few cars that I can simply step into without being a contortionist.
Bags of headroom and bags of legroom, even for passengers. Also, plenty of grunt. 5 (big) adults plus luggage plus large bbq and 2 gas bottles and still happy to sail along in top gear. At 17, it owes me nothing but starting to show it's age.

I would be tempted by one of these, but for the fact that it only has a 3-star Safety rating from Euro NCAP. For this reason alone I would look elsewhere.

There's no such thing as safety
@@ifyouvote.5005 I beg to differ. A friend of mine (a careful driver) was driving his car in the Pennines, but was hit by a BMW which was being driven recklessly. The BMW driver only suffered minor injuries, but sadly my friend was killed outright. The reason was that the BMW had a 5 Star Euro NCAP Crash Safety rating, where my friend's car only had a 3-star Euro NCAP safety rating.
Granted, nothing is 100% safe, but some cars are a whole lot safer than others in the event of a crash.

No that's life, that was his time, like I have mine you have yours, I never worrie about safety, you can be in a tank and still get killed, live for today.
