@@michaelfranzese An early Michael Mann film. You can see many tropes, camera shots and beats used in the now famous film "Heat" (A work of cinematic genius in my opinion) that he invented for THIEF. If you read the Godfather Book first & then saw the movie like I did, you could not help but notice how great Jimmy captivated the character of Sonny Corleone. He played Sy Berman on Magic City. The only cast member on the show who dared tell Ben Diamond (played by excellent actor Danny Huston) what to do. He was excellent in the role as one might expect.
Michael, another great video by you. James Caan was one of my favorite actors also. And Elf was one of my favorites by him also. Glaswegian people have been known to "sort things among themselves". The whole community takes crimes personally. It's very old fashioned in a way. My daddy used to walk my mum away from the kerb, and walked at the road side. This goes back to Victorian times, when the carriage might splash mud, the gentleman is protected the lady's dress. One of the gifts I received for my birthday this year was a book of yours I wanted, From Godfather to God the Father. Just wanted to show my appreciation for that.
I've listened to several of your shows, Michael, and they are all excellent!! Keep up the good work.
Michael is it possible for me to become as eloquent and well-spoken as you are, without having the prior experience of being in the mob or pulling off a nationwide gas racket? because your videos are both informative and entertaining and I really appreciate what
you do. Have a great day sir!
Grazie Michael for all your contributions of stories we do not know about. Keep them coming!
This channel is one of the most unique. Great content Michael. P.S. I saw your Buzzfeed video from 2020, when you gave insight into the mob while playing Mafia 2. A show called Gamology on TH-cam does similar things, where people react and give insight on video games that reflect their own experiences. You would do awesome on that show, giving further insight on the Mafia series of games. Thanks, and keep the content coming.👍
AMEN Michael you are right on brother!
Hi Sue how are you doing😊
These guys are dropping like flies. Guess they don't wanna see how this whole thing ends.
Spoiler Alert:
On a long enough time scales it always ends badly.
Hi Michael! I wish you a speedy arrival to 1M followers; it is well deserved because your channel is lovely. I enjoyed your retrospective of Mr. Caan’s career. After the Godfather, I recall having seen him in Misery. Mr. Caan’s ability to communicate tension and desperation with his eyes in Misery was incredible. My condolences to his family.
I must say, I saw more tributes to Tony Sirico than James Caan. Love The Sopranos, but The Godfather is the best mafia movie, and indeed best movie, of all time.
RIP James Caan
Goodfellas is no.1
@Marco oh yes there is....it's my number one!
So sad 😞 loved Tony in the Soprano’s , Paulie was one of the best characters.Caan was an absolute legend, brilliant in every role and Ray Liotta was in some of my favourite films . Field of dreams ,Godfather and Casino to name a few.May they rest in peace ❤️ Thanks for your wonderful videos xx
Michael, I just saw "Mausoleum" starring Marjo Gortner. I was tripping out when I saw your name in the credits! Crazy flick that was...wow.
My favorite James Caan role is when he was in Las Vegas. Very underrated show! ❤️ Rest In Peace James thanks for the wonderful TV & Movie career you had
I know this going to sound weird but every time my husband watches your channel, the way you tell your stories reminds me of my dad. I’ll bet when you do a talk people are on the edge of their seats, hanging on every word. Anyway, just thought I’d toss that out there. Cheers and good luck 😊
Vario crew is getting together in Heaven.
RIP Paulie
That is the only positive I can think of it.
I'm glad you're enjoying your time in the UK. Continue your safe journey and have fun!!
I feel bad for people who think a political belief is the whole person. They're missing out on some great people.
If you read the Godfather Book first & then saw the movie like I did, you could not help but notice how great Jimmy captivated the character of Sonny Corleone. I mean he was PERFECT for that role and did a terrific job. Nobody could have played Sonny Corleone any better. He was my FAVORITE in the movie, even over Brando & Pacino who were both great.
Sonny: *_”You mean to tell me the Tataglia family will guarantee our investment...”_*
Vito: ** *_As you can see, I like to indulge my children, sometimes they speak when they should listen...”_*
*BEST SCENE EVER WITH JAMES CAAN and MARLON BRANDO*
I was reading the "Godfather" book for second time today and as I read I can feel that Caan gave absolute justice to the Sonny character.
Great compliment!
Sometimes when an actor dies you feel the loss as if it was a friend or family member. This is the case with James Caan. He was so loved and respected. We'll miss you for the rest of our lives but we have your films which keeps you with us.
“Thief” is a masterpiece. Caan and Mann made a great team.
Hey Michael, did you ever watch the movie: "Mickey Blue Eyes" ?
Is also a Mob Comedy starring James Caan and many characters from The Sopranos like Vinny Pastore and Tony Sirico. Absolutely awesome and funny! Would be cool if you do a review of this movie sometime :)
wish you the best! 🙏🏻
One of my favorite movies. Fogetaboutit.
He mentioned it in the video, except he called it "Jimmy Blue Eyes". It really wasn't that hard to figure out.
Sick film! One of my all time favourites
@@mrbaker6440 Love when the two families meet at the warehouse. Needs to be translated. Couldn't understand a word. Lol
@@espo7182 Yeah, Mikey isn't infamous for doin' his homewoik...lol
Michael, thank you so much for all your insights, your attitude, your energy and your will to help and spread not only sheer interesting content but also a message of positivity. Much appreciated. Maybe one day, we in Portugal can see and listen to you speaking and sharing wisdom. You have a good following here, i can tell you that :) all the best!
James Caan left a great legacy as a star in one of the great movies of all time!
Great sit down Michael, three of my favorite actors discussed, I'll miss them too. So many of my movie and TV favorites are departing, I hope to meet some of them in person after I leave. I would Love to meet your Dad too Michael, He fascinated me. Take care, be safe and God Bless you and yours. Come home to the U.S. soon...
Great actor, I thought Misery was played brilliantly. But he could be convincing at any role. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Brilliant tribute. Yeah he was great in Elf. He was great in everything. Thank you Mr Franzese. Have a great weekend ahead. We love you brother. You are a blessing to all.
Mister Franzese, you should run a music label........and you should hire me as an artist and advisor......Oh well, can't blame a guy for trying :p. Thanks for the great videos. The most recent ones and all of them really. Keep doing a great job :).
@@michaelfranzese I wasn't expecting an answer, but the music business truly needs a new, more personal approach if you ask me (I'm not saying it will replace the actual business as it is, I'm just saying there is money to be made).....and if I'm lucky enough to submit something at some point, I'd be more than honored. All of that being said, what you are doing is great. I hope you keep doing it for a long time, and I'll be more than happy to help if there ever is anything I can do.
Edit: Oh, and my sincere thanks for taking the time to answer. I truly appreciate it.
Thanks Michael. If there is one movie that showcases Mr. Caan"s talent it is Thief
I don't believe the movie was called "Jimmy Blue Eyes", I think it's called "Mickey Blue Eyes".....
James Caan was 1 of my favorites.
Will be missed. I loved films like Kiss me goodbye, Misery & Alien nation. My james as Sonny......BRILLIANT!!!!!
Michael, I love your channel .
Stay cool in England.
I loved James Caan. Tremendous actor. He was always one of my favourites in The Godfather. He was also great in Misery. I think you mean Mickey Blue Eyes. That was a very funny movie. Michael, I'm looking forward to hearing what you think of Belfast when you visit. Enjoy
@@michaelfranzese Looking forward to it! 😁
Interersting that Michael's in the UK right now as Caan dies, Mickey Blue Eyes (1999) starred British actor Hugh Grant.
Michael, thank you! Great tributes for all 3. We’ll miss these guys forever. Glad to have you around to share this all. God bless.
He played Sy Berman on Magic City. The only cast member on the show who dared tell Ben Diamond (played by excellent actor Danny Huston) what to do. He was excellent in the role as one might expect.
I've been waiting for this!! Thank you!! Loved James Caan
Michael, another great video by you. James Caan was one of my favorite actors also. And Elf was one of my favorites by him also. I dated a girl a while ago back in Connecticut whose grandmother lived in the building where Sonny was beating up his brother-in-law. She told me they were actually watching them film the movie from Grandma's window from above the street I believe it was 116th Street.
Another great actor is gone , and we fans will miss them greatly. 😥 Truly what impresses me the most about you Michael, is your faith . How you chose to walk with Jesus vs. Living that what you've described as an evil life. I never even knew you were in the mob, until I came upon your testimony some years ago.
Thank you for all of this information sir!! It helped me with my homework with the VA regarding my own heavy depression. Thank you; thank you very much!!
Thank you for all your say you are amazing person enjoy your days in 🇬🇧 bless you take care
2 days ago??? How am I just now seeing this? Great video, Michael. RIP Jimmy❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏

I hope you enjoy your stay in London & the UK 🇬🇧 in general Michael . Sending Love & Peace from East London
Love your work Michael.
Your sense of reality is second to none.
This channel is at the top of my priority watches. 👍
Thanks so much for the tribute video Michael! James Caan was brilliant in so many movies: Alien Nation, Misery, Elf and of course The Godfather; Sonny literally left Carlo laying in the gutter; I'd never seen a scene like that before! RIP to James Caan and God bless you!
Air went out on my grandmas birthday from Palermo to the mitten Detroit and just got it fixed today god bless mike and happy for the channel blowing up like I thought it would
Great info. on JC and sincere message as always Michael. I’m really glad you’re enjoying the UK. I’m up against some stuff of my own at the moment so I probably won’t make it to the show but it’s great just to know you’re here! God bless!
Thanks for sharing Michael. James was a great actor and will be missed. Sadly Paul Sorvino passed a couple of days ago also. Maybe you can do a tribute to him as well. God Bless!
God Bless You Too Mr.Franzese .. Great Tribute to James Caan & love how you ended the last few mins. of it discussing/being on point upon our troubling issues here in the U.S. that need to be resolved... I'm in my early '50s cant fathom/comprehend the senseless nonsense that has been going on here.. I'm sure I'm not alone on this but " I MISS THE AMERICA I GREW UP IN ".... J.R. 😎👊👊
Loved him in Las Vegas on NBC . Keep the clips up and stay safe Michael !
Michael I greatly appreciate you posting g this video, James Caan was truly an amazing , once in a lifetime talent!!
James Caan was a Great Actor for being in many diverse Films but We will always Remember him as Sonny Corleone in The GodFather that is correct Michael!!. That other Movie you mentioned of his called "La Cosa Nostra, This Thing of Ours is Free Here on TH-cam and I have not had Time to see it yet but I will Now!. Thanks for sharing that Michael. Take care and Be safe in London and God Bless You and Your Family, Michael. Thanks for doing this Tribute of James Caan, a Great Actor!!!😁👏👏👏👍
I'm Jewish and I appreciate your respect for the Jews and acknowledging their role in the formation of the Cosa Nostra in the U.S. back in the day. It's fascinating history and you really bring it to life with honesty and clarity.
900k followers now Michael definitely a million before the year is over God bless 🙏🏻
Great sit down! Enjoy the rest of the trip and be safe during your travels!

Next time your over here Michael I would love to meet you.love everything your doing .may the lord shine down on you and yours Michael.🙏🏽💙❤️🇬🇧
Great actor, he will be missed. Have a great tour, Michael. Stay safe!
Jimmy cann always had a joke and a cheeky smirk on his face. Loved him - he will be sorely missed . Lovely tribute. I'm in Scotland, and ladies who are in their own areas are usually safe. I loved that my daddy was like that. Took a lighter everywhere,to light ladies cigarettes - yet - he never smoked
Love mags 💗
@@michaelfranzese how could you not love a man, who left acting - to coach kids baseball? Thats a real man (as don corleone would say😉) he came back with his amazing performance in Misery! I feel for his family - he must be so loved. Bet he is having a beer, whilst brando plays his drums up there in heaven, with john cazale of course x
