Dear Sir, I am Sri Lankan buddhist meditating monk. Sometimes we have to deliver huge public sermons for our devotees. So I like to improve my voice in British Upper(old) Received pronunciation. And I like to find some vocal excercises for speak like UK first female Prime minister Lady Margaret Thatcher's male version. In a deep voice. Please help me. And my voice has improved a great amount. And so has my confidence in speaking to larger groups of ppl. I feel awesome. Thank you!
When I was assistant manager and eventually manager of a rim and tire shop with 100s of locations nationwide, even though I had record breaking results and had levels of success far beyond what my counterparts were capable of, to the point of being #1 in the entire company, and then transferring to another location that lost money month in and month out, and made profitable in only 2 months. I was never taken seriously internally. This is probably the reason for it. I've since left the company and make noticeably more, but if i didn't get discouraged and leave over that fact, I'd probably be district, if not regional manager, especially since i know both of mine are no longer with company. making exponentially more. I thought results are what motivates people, its simple things such as this that I've paid little to no mind to. And I don't have impediments or stutters, its just never been that impressive.
As someone who's gone from very vocal to extremely stressed and quiet, my voice has changed a lot in 2 years. Thank you for this video. I was told my voice was nice at some point and I hope I can improve again

That part about willingly engaging muscles activated during deep humming... I'm perfectly aware of my quiet voice, all my life too many people need to tell me that and share wise advice. This is the first time it actually clicked, instantly, and it feels natural, not like previous attempts. Thank you _very_ much!

"And it's the same muscle you use when throwing up after a party". Not quite what I had expected to hear but it's a very effective way to identify the relevant anatomy.
What a wonderful voice!!! I'm always surprised by how much time and money people will spend in looking their best - whilst never considering investing the same effort into sounding their best. Great videos, thank you.

I started Kirstin Linklater's exercises on a regular basis and it truly made a difference. She basically focuses on what you recommend, lots and lots of humming and relaxation for the voice box (she covers tongue, soft palate, jaw, neck and lips). This video is great to begin to understand those relaxation principles.

I have developed a good high and low range and my voice has gotten lower over the years but I keep working to expand that lower range.Your videos are so helpful for me. Thank you.

I was doing some demolition work on a house the other day, by myself, listening to Johnny Hartman on a very nice, bassy stereo, for about 5 hours. I was amazed by how, when someone came into the house to speak with me, my voice sounded so much like Johnny Hartman. I guess this is a phenomenon associated with relaxation, even though I hadn't spoken a word in those 5 hours?
Thanks for the excellent tutorial. Due to being on the road for months, and getting to a gig late (stressed), I lost my vocal range, especially notes in the lower register. Fortunately, I ran into a professor of music at the club. He trains opera singers in a conservatorium. He had me suck air in and make a sound, like a balloon squeeling, which is the opposite of forcing the vocal cords to produce a low tone. Almost immediatery, the exercise restored my low notes. Surely there is a name for the exercise. But humming works also.
Yes this can be successful but you have to be really careful you don't strain the sensitive vocal cords further. Thanks for sharing! Best wishes, Peter Baker www.VoiceoverMasterclass.com
After years and years of trying and exercising, really in 5 minutes listening, I found out that the puzzle is nearly possible to be solved, thanks mate

Amazing! In these minutes, I've learnt something surprisingly useful! I tend to squeak on a higher tone, thinking that way my enunciation gets more clear, but no. It can be exhausting. The relaxed throat control is a better idea. Will hum on every now and then, until I get things right.
Great video! And quite entertaining as well! Thanks! I'm planning to start doing voice overs for my app Walkbox to replace computer generated text-to-speech.

Possibly the most interesting video I have come across. Though I have a reasonably presentable body my voice is real squeaky. I would never have thought it even possible to improve one’s voice. I have immediately started on the humming though I cant seem to figure out the part about the other body structure referred to. But thanks a million.

The thing about making your voice deep has many benefits, one is it won't crack as much, its healthy for your lungs, and you lose the fear of talking in front of many.
Making long tones note by note down the scale as low as you can will a)immediately give your voice depth and b) immediately improve confidence. Doing up and down from normally comfortable zone a note at a time whenever you feel like it to generate confidence, calm focus etc. Also obviously a core, heart and lung regenerator.
Thank you Peter. i saw on another youtube months ago that humming was a good exercise to free and open blocked sinuses. since doing those exercises ( humming) i have noticed, yes my sinuses have opened and with yoga breath i am appreciating the benefits.

my second time here, and this time I was really ready to learn... I'm amzed that I now can access the voice from the muscle you pointed out... priceless advice... thank you very much
Before lockdown I was singing five nights a week as well as doing a few voiceovers for video promotions. Since March 14th NO SINGING! I have noticed my voice has changed. The day after singing a two or three hour live gig I would always have a low sound in the voice, great for recording. Now six months without singing its not there so much. Also I've noticed a distinct lack of cash since then...
This is normal. The lower you go, the breathier you get, the harder you need to push air from your lungs to reduce breathiness, The exception is if you can do "fry tone" or "gravelly".
TY!! Had a TIA in 2012. From the stuttering my voice box has become very stressed. I no longer stutter(thankfully!!) But, my voice is very raspy. My singing voice though is to high. Want to have back my old regular voice. I'm from Maine where my R lol is the northeastern R.
I was looking for a great Coach like you.. and today is the day..👍👍 you are doing a nobel job by helping others out.. keep sharing your best tips of practice with us..🙏❤️

Thanks Fritz :)
His voice is so great.
Best wishes, Peter Baker www.VoiceoverMasterclass.com
relax and you'll come out sounding deep... this is so true, and not just voice-wise
Thanks for this, it helped me
After years and years of trying and exercising, really in 5 minutes listening, I found out that the puzzle is nearly possible to be solved, thanks mate

Amazing! In these minutes, I've learnt something surprisingly useful! I tend to squeak on a higher tone, thinking that way my enunciation gets more clear, but no. It can be exhausting. The relaxed throat control is a better idea. Will hum on every now and then, until I get things right.
The tips helped me deepen my voice a lot. I used to sing, the reason why I didn't develop my voice deep enough. No regrets this time.
Glad they helped and thank you for your comment :)
This guy is so adorable
Great video! And quite entertaining as well! Thanks! I'm planning to start doing voice overs for my app Walkbox to replace computer generated text-to-speech.
Thank you so much for the specifics you mentioned, the training you gave, and the demonstration you made to prove your point. Well done

Its enjoying having some vibration in my voice
Possibly the most interesting video I have come across. Though I have a reasonably presentable body my voice is real squeaky. I would never have thought it even possible to improve one’s voice. I have immediately started on the humming though I cant seem to figure out the part about the other body structure referred to. But thanks a million.
it's referring to the larynx. Also known as the Adam's apple. You can feel it move by putting your hand on your throat and swallowing.
I listened to my recorded voice and I must say HELP ME 😭 Thanks for the tips
Also the microphone being used here makes a massive difference 😮
Thank you Sir for all the tips on working on our voice. I like your deep ,relaxed voice. Listening to you is a great pleasure. Liked your demo on vibrations of our voice. God Bless you

*HOLY COW MAN! You have the coolest voice I think I have ever heard in my ENTIRE life! XD*
Learned some good things about my tight voice. Tnx! The trainer is so personable that he would be enjoyable to listen to no matter what he talked about. Of course the vocal delivery would still matter.

The thing about making your voice deep has many benefits, one is it won't crack as much, its healthy for your lungs, and you lose the fear of talking in front of many.
I've since left the company and make noticeably more, but if i didn't get discouraged and leave over that fact, I'd probably be district, if not regional manager, making exponentially more. I thought results are what motivate people, its simple things such as this that I'd paid little to no mind to. And I don't have impediments or stutters, just nothing special.
your voice brings spiritual peace
Yes i'm learning now thanks...
best video ever.
Excellent video! This was exactly the information and voice exercises I was looking to try. Thank you!
Excellent advice thank you lots regarding humming, QEQR mouth workout.
I can't hum in a low voice because when I do that, my dog looks at me in a funny way.
Making long tones note by note down the scale as low as you can will a)immediately give your voice depth and b) immediately improve confidence. Doing up and down from normally comfortable zone a note at a time whenever you feel like it to generate confidence, calm focus etc. Also obviously a core, heart and lung
regenerator.
Hello Kimberley
How are you doing today?

i saw on another youtube months ago that humming was a good exercise to free and open blocked sinuses.
since doing those exercises ( humming)
i have noticed, yes my sinuses have opened and with yoga breath i am appreciating the benefits.
My voice is one of my biggest insecurities🙂

HAHAHHAHAAHA u dabest!
Not an aspiring voice actor or anything, just generally trying to improve my voice, thanks for this video!
my second time here, and this time I was really ready to learn... I'm amzed that I now can access the voice from the muscle you pointed out... priceless advice... thank you very much
You have a very natural way of connecting to an audiance, thanks.
I’m just here to listen to that gorgeous voice ...
My voice just doesn't "catch" when I try to go low. It just sounds like low breathing when I speak.
This is normal. The lower you go, the breathier you get, the harder you need to push air from your lungs to reduce breathiness, The exception is if you can do "fry tone" or "gravelly".
You should always speak on your exhale
Breath from stomach or diaphragm, speak when exhaling.
TY!! Had a TIA in 2012. From the stuttering my voice box has become very stressed. I no longer stutter(thankfully!!) But, my voice is very raspy. My singing voice though is to high. Want to have back my old regular voice. I'm from Maine where my R lol is the northeastern R.
I was looking for a great Coach like you.. and today is the day..👍👍
you are doing a nobel job by helping others out..
