Live Fire Cooking: Prime Rib Roast Asado-Style

  • Picture this: a massive 7-bone Prime Rib, slowing spinning on a rotisserie over an open fire. It's nighttime and the smell from fat dripping onto the hot FOGO Super Premium burning Arteflame (see the grill: bit.ly/2Ud2ZXv) grill is filling the air, while the Prime Rib slowly slowly spins and cooks to perfection Asado-style. Then I add some potatoes, onions and squash right on the coals.
    Sounds amazing, doesn’t it? It really was!! Asado is a style of cooking that comes from Argentina. It is very involved because you constantly have to watch and manage the fire, but you are rewarded with amazing tasting food and a unique way to entertain your friends and family or in my case, wind down after a long day.

      I wonder, how much wood do you need to get the same result as you would in a pellet grill? Also, whats the taste difference between campfire smoking or smoking in a closed environment like using a smoker.

    Nice cook, I'm digging that rotisserie. That would be killer for some campfire cooking. I need to try some of that Charcoal as well. I've been doing some of this style cooking on my KUDU grill and making TH-cam videos of it. Really and truly love this style cooking. New sub here and excellent video.

    I have a rotisserie and was thinking about doing the prime rib on it. But im curious... cutting it how you did and then searing it at the end again, why not just buy ribeye steaks & grill them in that case? Is there a difference really?

    Im sorry man, Thats called Kanka, which means Asado , but in Mapudungun, Chilean Aboriginal language, so its a CHILEAN Made Item, Nothing against Argentinian Asado, but thats chilean way man

    • @felipeganem6767
      @felipeganem6767 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      and those steaks are overcooked......theres no point in cooking the whole piece, and then slice it....... better slice them from the beginning...to get the real medium rare which that is not
