    Just love the Haggard RC channel, raw, real and down to earth, I would advise anyone new to the hobby to follow the Haggard channel, no hype, no bullshit , just plain simple down to earth advise from a bloke with 20 years experiance of RC. Please keep the channel going as it is, a great help to many people out there including myself.

    Most valuable technique for starting (for me), before I start pulling away is to prime fuel, plug in igniter and slowly pull through compression. If all is well, it should kick back (combustion!). That means you’ve got air, fuel and glow. Good to go! If it doesn’t kick back, you can start diagnostics without getting a sore elbow. I’ve used old fuel (stored correctly), old glow plugs, all good. Usually the cause of a non start is something more simple than needing fresh fuel or a new glow plug. Engine heaters I’ve found useful but really only for break ins. I live in Australia 🇦🇺 though. Stay persistent guys! Nitro is its own reward. There’s also some great tuning flowcharts on RC Forums. Keep up the good work man. You’ve got a laid back way of discussing. 😎

    Hi haggard, I don’t comment on videos normally, but after watching the first 13mins of this video . I understand this is just your personal opinion or experience but if you’re trying to help out people new to nitro, I would definitely need to disagree with some of what you said. Nitro engines do not need to be preheated to be started and it defo doesn’t need to be above 15c or 20c degrees outside to start it without a heater. Also the factory setting on RTR cars in my experience are 9/10 are fine. This is the problem with new people trying to start nitro engines for the first time, they start messing with the setting and most of the time it’s not the setting that are the problem it’s something silly. And for someone new to rc messing with the setting they most likely don’t understand what they are doing. Example like the Ftx that you was given, this was a perfect example of someone new to nitro and they messed with the settings and made the problem. Also I don’t think it’s good that you mentioned easy start or using other flammable liquid to start it, they just need nitro fuel. Also nitro fuel it does go off and that could make it harder to start nitro engines, you should be telling people to use fresh fuel. And definitely if you’re trying to help out new people to rc. Not saying you can’t use old fuel but I’d would not recommend it. This is just my opinion and experience.

      Nice to have your input Alfie, I think an experiment is in need don’t you? Old fuel against new fuel 😁 up for it?

    When I'm stuck I go back to my engineering and mechanics from collage .When i first started nitro my RS4 evo3 didn't have the line from exhaust to fuel tank but did still run but not well and was pain to start unless it had alittle throttle.only other thing to cover would be that dreaded word a tune but there a few of ur videos they can watch for that. Great video again Haggard

    Good video haggard I was exactly the same when I first started 15 to 20 years ago with nitro so put it back in the box and put it away luckily I met somebody who was into nitro and thay got it running for me and he shown and told me the basics the more newbies in the hobby the better good for stress or feeling down having a bad day go out with your nitro u forget everything and come back feeling good

    I've got a little rh1006 buggy I'm going to run through these things with! I feel it could be more serious like that bearing by the flywheel but, this will eliminate other possibilities. Thanks again!!

    il give you a tip take glow plug out when piston at bottom mark the crank then prime from that point will start easy

    @bobdude2360 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Great video btw. I got to say you made a lot of good points and I must admit I agree with you on the fact that nitro doesn't go bad.But it can if moisture gets introduced or if it separates and people have to remember that nitro fuel is in fact hydroscopic which means it can draw in moisture if not stored properly. So just to let new nitro folks know he is right if stored properly nitro should and could potentially last almost forever. Also like he said a lot of things in nitro come to those with patience and common sense or somewhat have a little bit of mechanical back round or knowledge of engines to say whether or not they know what they are doing. With that said keep up the good work haggard and keep burning nitro and having fun with it my rc friend across the pond your rc friend from the USA. Take care brother and God bless you and your family. ✌️ Be with you.

    Like most of your videos, this is another clear and descriptive one. I always find your videos informative. I don't have nito yet, only electric, but i am very keen to get into them. Ive also found from your videos some half decent running spots as im local to them.
    Keep up the good vids mate.

    Hi Mate, I’ve been watching the posts for a while now and glad to support the channel as it has been really helpful and an inspiration. Hoping you can help me out a little further, I got my TT EB4 S2.5 running pretty sweet after 11 years under the bed, however I have shredded the main gear not appreciating the torque the .21 Pro puts out when tuning (MY FAULT). Should I just replace with the OEM plastic 46T gear or fork out for a steel replacement?
    Appreciate your advice on this as I see you are running a similar setup with the OEM main gear (AD0363 46T EB RG) in this vid.
    Keep the vids coming!
    Andrew

      Your Rovan Q short arse and the filters, have you managed to find a good one? I've got the Rovan AS1 and use the stock one, too. I bought an outer wear, but they're fiddly to put on, so threw it in the bin.

      2 tanks on tick over, two tanks driving around in a circle at no more than half throttle, then 2 tanks going to full for a few seconds.

    Ive never heard so much rubbish in my life!
    All i would say to people out there if you want hassle free nitro starting get help from somebody who really knows what they talking about. Ive been using nitro rc cars for over 40 years and never had a problem. You’re not giving your viewers the correct information. Dont take my word for it just go to your local rc shop and show them this video. Im sure they will have someone who knows what they taking about there.!!

      Buddy hobby shop guys usually have no idea wtf they are talking about

    • @bobcowley3849
      @bobcowley3849 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Ok if you think all model shops don’t know wtf they talking about go to a club ect ect. Shops have close ties with manufacturers granted some people who work at model shops don’t know there time of day. Look at it this way you buy new car! It goes wrong in first week who you take it too? Now I’ve spoke to much already. But if you new guys and girls are new to the hobby of nitro rc and your having problems first port of call I would say is back to the shop. If they cannot get it running right well your in a world of pain and I feel for you like I say I been using nitro cars, and helis for of over 40 years mainly cars helis last 25 years or so take it for what it is.
