What Pokemon do you think will be best to solo Meganium?
Osiris if I were you I would do Grimsnarl
Lokix
KingGambit ❤
Scizor with Skitter Smack/Lunge (drops the Attack/Sp Attack, with the move choice dependent on Meganium's move set), Rainy Day (negate Sunny Day and Leaf Guard ability), Swords Dance, Brick Break (if it sets up defensive walls), and if you don't need Rainy Day or Brick Break, you can sub in Leer.
Awesome list Osirus! Was def looking at my Ceru.
Other possibilities:
Darkrai
Hoopa (both defs high)
Zarude
Pecharunt (Has high phy.def)
Scizor
With this dropping on April Fools I was expecting the answer to be Magikarp
That would of been hilarious.
That's a challenge I'm willing to try
Omg you are HILARIOUS!!! 😂😂😂😂 I can’t stop laughing omg 😂😂😂😂
Had my first solo success with Malamar and its hidden ability Contrary. Was thinking Skeledirge, but tired of using the same raid Pokémon all of the time. Malamar, Adamant, Superpower, Tera Blast, Night Slash, and Skill Swap. T1 swap abilities with Meganium using Skill Swap, then use Superpower 3-4 times until Meganium finally faints you. After coming back with Contrary again use Stellar tera and click Superpower x3, Tera Blast x3 then Night Slash for the rest of the raid. Night Slash towards the end is key since the crits will ignore any Defense Meganium managed to get.
I like the option of skeledirge being viable. He's probably my favorite S/V starter.
I did it with Annihilape and it works like a charm. First you make a Taunt to prevent its Curse. Then two Rage Fists to teralize later. Than another Taunt again and Rage Fists till you die.
After you come back, immediately terastalize to solo Ghost type. Then two or three Bulk Ups, a Focus Energy and then kill it with 4 to 6 Rage Fists. Fast and save...
The Raid will return next weekend, so maybe you can get some goodies then. :)
Annihilape (M) @ Scope Lens
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 6 Spe
Ability: Defiant
Tera Type: Ghost
Adamant Nature
- Rage Fist
- Taunt
- Bulk Up
- Focus Energy
Yep. Right on. Me too. Works almost every time.
I don't think any of us expected Meganium! thanks for the vid pal
Why not? It was 1 of the 10 starter pokémon left.
Grumpig- Simple Beam, chilling water, mudslap, snarl covers everything you need for support.
Incineroar- Power trip, swords dance, snarl, leech life. You shouldn't have any weaknesses, can snarl to support or set up swords dance and power trip for massive damage. Leech life as needed.
I was so very wrong lol
@RMSBones what happened
Gholdengo with Shadow Ball, Nasty plot, Metal Sound & Make It Rain.
Exactly what i was thinking
For players going Solo worried about screens and not having Brick Break or Drefog as options, the Tauros and Heracross you can get as random raid partners both know moves that get rid of screens
I used annihalape with shadow claw rage fist brick break focus energy with shell bell and one intimidator AI partner (staraptor works best since it can use feather dance) . Survived everything without any problem at all once rage fist starts to ramp up its damage every turn
A Grass/Bug-type sounds like the best option to me. Just in case it has Leech Seed. With it being Psychic, it seems VERY likely that it'll get a free Light Screen and Reflect at some point. Stay immune to Leech Seeds so its health recovery won't be so great.
So, the first thing I noticed is that Meganium immediately starts out with both Reflect and Light Screen. From there, it uses Curse until it's at least +5 then starts wailing on you with Zen Headbutt and Seed Bomb.
I only lucked out the first time I fought him because one of my AI allies paralyzed him.
Gonna use the unrivaled mewtwo with shell bell, nasty plot + shadow ball.. brick break & rain dance/ protect..
Had the toughest time using Skeledirge. Found that an Annihilape build takes Meganium out almost every time, with about 40% time remaining.
Do we like Volcarona for this as well? Bug Tera, Quiver Dance, Bug Buzz, Reflect and a 4th move, Shell Bell for recovery?
Also gets defog to remove screens!!!
volcarona can't learn reflect or defog unfortunately
@@beardedgamer14oh my b. Thanks for correction. Don’t know why I thought he learned it. If Meganium is special he does get struggle bug tho
In my opinion, having access to Stomping Tantrum and Body Press it would make much more sense to Meganium being a Fairy teratype, its move pool is better for countering Poison and Steel types. The defensive Psychic type is good too, but I think it's a missed opportunity for a harder challenge instead of a tedious one.
I was thinking Lokix early but someone said Meganiums Leaf Guard, Weather Ball Combo ruins it! But ah gud old Skeledirge!!
I had ceruledge in mind myself as the best option, kingambit is 4x weak to fighting type moves so if it has body press especially before terastalisation it will be hit very hard
Can Ceruledge use skillswap? Might be useful.
Question, why do you think it would have Stomping Tantrum over Earthquake? Both are TM moves, and I'm guessing they'll take the higher dmg option
I was wondering the same thing, are we missing something? Why would they use Stomping Tantrum over Earthquake?
Finally the johto starters are coming hopefully we’ll get our gator boy next
Aren’t they in the dlc or you mean coming in terms of raids
We already had one of the johto starters in typhlosion
@@FaolanMacDuncan your right i actually forgot about it lol
You could also use Tera Stellar on Skeledirge & Skuntank due to the potency of their type combination, making it more consistent in more raids than the Unrivaled Meganium.
I think there is the option for the Tera Stellar Malamar. Won't resist Grass, but if it's a Physical Striker, you can cancel stuff with Superpower, and then you can Tera Blast for guaranteed Super Effective, or Dark Move hit.
Solos with skeledirge and beat it with rage fist annihilapes though that seemed very RNG dependent. Going to cook up a support armarouge next
Still have that Mew build on the ready for this coming raid. Want a little variety so shiny hunted Nymble x2 as my initial mon to solo meganium with an npc team for both SV. Currently raising them to Lokix with the specified build on this vid. Going with bug tera to get a little stab with lunge move. Skeledirge is also good, can raise that build fast easily and is ready available.
If Meganium is a special attacker, it might make more sense for it to have Tera Blast, like the Charizard did. But that’s just my opinion.
I'm thinking about running Scorching Sands over Lick on Skeledirge. Seems like it may do more damage, and burn seems better in this case. Though, Lick is understandable, as I think Scorching Sands is DLC exclusive. Or is it?
Do we need to purchase anything in order to fetch these raids? Or does it automatically show up. I play the game but i have not bought any dlc packs.
The raid is available from the base game. All you need to do is to check Poke Portal News from the Mystery Gift menu when the raid goes live and find the sparkling black den on your map.
all you need for 7 stars raids is finish base game
Atm i am on the fence on what to use.
Personally my main option is shellbell ghost tera annihilape.
I am not yet sure of using any bug types/kinggambit mainly because of sunny day. If meganium has sunny day. Lets not get rid of the possibility of it having weather ball. If it has weather ball bug types and kinggambit will be destroyed.
One unit i am looking at is roaring moon, dark tera dragon dance focus energy crunch with shell bell. Also if meganium uses sunny day it sets up protosynthesis.
He has Zen Headbutt as his physical attack so I am using Skeleridge Level 100 with Shell Bell and the moves Hex Shadow Ball Torch Song and Protect as my moves of choice I also EV trained my defence and special attack
Meganium moves are Curse Reflect and Light Screen and Zen Headbutt so be on Guard and enjoy
Sableye is also a good option as its immune its psychic and fighting moves.
Was thinking just Nasty Plot Dark Pulse Chi Yu but dont think would be good if Meganium have Stomping Tantrum/Body Press
It it has both screens, i think focus energy or a high-crit move (e.g. night slash) + scope lens would be the way to go
How many starters are left?
I kinda want to see 7 star raids for other pokemon especially those that are home transferable only
After Meganium? Feraligatr, Sceptile, Swampert, Torterra, Infernape, Serperior, Emboar, Incineroar, and Primarina. Maybe Meowscarada, Skeledirge, and Quaquaval if they want to include the current starters/first partners.
I think a Sap Sipper Wyrdeer Bug Tera would be good. Put the IVs towards Attack, HP and Defense with the moves Protect, Lunge, Psych Up, and Megahorn and a Shell Bell.
Disclaimer: I am a novice to this. Lol
Tried mew with dark Tera type and kept getting my butt whooped. Changed it to bug type and the first time I beat it. Bug definitely makes a difference. Especially since he had body press. Thanks goat
Damn yall quick on this 😅😅😅
Going with the ultimate Swiss Army knife for this raid: shiny Arceus… again!
Didn’t know Osiris was a Newcastle fan lol seems fitting
He clearly has a Newcastle accent, so I wasn’t surprised.
Which special ball to use?
This is gonna a pure tanky annoying mon. Dual screens, Leech Seed, Sleep Powder, probably Shield Up Turn 0. I dont think it’s gonna be as easy as we all think.
Agreed, I have a feeling this is going to be a DPS race against the clock more than anything else.
As long as it doesn’t have cheese whizz, it should be fine.
PS. If you don’t know what’s going on, join us in the livestreams!
Incireroar is another great choice! Fire/Dark or even dog Houndoom lol
I was a me to use the Skeledirge build but was only able to defeat it by having a NPC that had Gardevoir that was using life dew
Dansquared's mew build might better, the tera type is still bug, but the moveset should be: Lunge/Struggle Bug (depending on physical or special attacks, leech life, swords dance (metronome held item), and Brick Break to break screens
Thank for info bro and your service bro ❤❤❤❤❤❤👍👍👍👍
Idk man maybe mew only because I'll only need a few tweaks hehe I'll wait for Friday for your vid on the actual raid mechanics 😊
Malamar 252 attack 252 def 4 hp
Metronome
Skill swap reflect night slash and move of choice
I believe Meganium can actually learn Earthquake as well! Fire types gotta be careful 😩
I might use my Tera bug scizor and forretress for this raid.
has the best solo build video been done?
You going to post the best build for meganium raid? You must have tested them by now?
It's near the end of the first half of this raid, what's going on? Did you forget to test your builds to see what's going to be consistent?
He isn’t going to post because he’s in London, he posted an explanation on the community tab on his channel!
I'll probably use Dada Zarude bc it has acess to Jungle Healing
Where do you get that status page?
I feel like Urshifu-D has potential, and Anihilape-G @Defiant would counter a charm set.
I'd be interested in seeing how well Zarude would do
It’s better to use will-o-wisp instead of lick for Skeledirge
I wish they gave Meganium Leaf Tornado, Serperior family certainly isn't using it
I feel like these videos are not worth it so early before we know anything about the raid moveset. For all we know, leech life mew might be the best.
And here I am still doing Charizard raids for herba mystica
Osirus im amazed u didnt try incineroar
Meganium also gets access to Knock Off.
Need to wait till it is out to make the right strategy.
Will mew.. Or two show up again.. Or walking wake?
Walking Wake just came back. You're gonna be waiting a while for that to come back most likely.
Got to release some Pokémon now
If Meganium didn't have access to Zen Headbutt, I probably would think about using Heracross
Edit: Meganium also has access to Earthquake
This is so funny idk why
Any way we can get a run thru video
Psychic grass meganium spoiler starter for legends ZA
I prefer keeping my charizard raid or as I call it herbs farm
Sorry, but isn't the Skeledirge shown max Def instead of max HP? Thx anyway, as always.
In the info is 252 HP. In the Video ist's def.
Slither Wing Bug Tera with bulk up and leech life :)
Have you tried that? The zen headbutts before tera sound a bit concerning
How can I get a mew?
I was about to waste an Ability Patch on a Feraligatr, but it’s pretty obvious we’ll get him after this one. Can’t wait to demolish this guy, definitely in the running for one of the worst starters.
Weather ball will be there in think
I use annihilape beat it twice🎉
Soooo annihilape?
It's been live no vid on how to beat it or and builds yet lol
It's most likely because he's busy attending the European Pokemon tournament going on this weekend. It's been a day since you commented so you might've already beat the raid but if not, it's best to find the best build elsewhere
Try the whole scyther line lol.
Im struggling because you dont post new vid to easily solo meganium. 😢
Anything with powertrip
Mew bug terra from the master mark Mewtwo raid
I gave up on this raid after several tries .
Let’s go
I'ma bring single strike urshifu
Very confusing as to why they chose psychic.
Might be hinting at a new form or something for a new game who knows!
ever heard of rage fist annihilape ? lmao xD
Tbh this took longer to get mentioned than I thought, the ape might be good depends how well it can handle the initial onslaught from zen headbutts tbh
@@Osirus well just saw the video and u didnt mention the Monkey boy 😆
@@isaacclarke5606had to be done appreciate the ape propaganda ✌️
LoTix, lolol
I hate how everyone uses shinies for videos like this, I like to be surprised by the shiny colors when I hunt a Pokemon I've never seen it for, so its a spoiler for me when videos do this and I don't feel like watching it even though I want to know how to do the raid. :/
It's been more then a year since launch, you can't reasonably expect people to worry about spoilers at this point.
Cannot tell is this a joke?
