    Love colors in eyeglasses, the Lucas and la eyewear are beautiful, especially the opal looking color way. My goodness, the McLaren unibody one piece😳 looking forward to the review 😎

    J F Ray and LA Framework are more for me. The last LA Framework Housecat is to die for. Really beautiful and elegant and I'd really like to see it on. The hint of metallic is so enhancing to the wears eye color. My eyes are hazel blue green and think this frame is definitely my elegant style winner. The J F Ray are fun to wear every day charming and easy to wear. Thank you for sending out a lastest frame video as I was getting a bit confused about what to look for as I was getting caught up in technology of the frames. These are fun and wearable.

    The Lucas de Stael frame looks amazing in that colour combination. What tints would you recommend to match to the frame?
    McLaren always impress with their innovation and technology too. Really interesting video!

      I think I'd go with Cinnamon (it's got the kind of light brown colouration to tie in with the Tan leather) and either Amber Flash to blend or Ruby, Sapphire, or Jade Flash to contrast. I have a nice feeling about Jade on this one for something very different.
      The Cinnamon is usually 25% but I'd go 35% to make it more noticeable.

    Hi Robert, just discovered your channel and love some of your recommendations, found it by chance after searching for the glasses I selected randomly because of the looks and feel. Yes they are Reykjavik Eyes! But I wonder what your thoughts are on my previous eyewear, Titanflex by Eschenbach. A brand you don’t appear to mention on the channel? Think. I’ll need to use your services in the future.

      Cool! Look forward to that. So we used to sell Titanflex. Like ALL memory metal frames, they always fail eventually. Usually around the 3 year mark. So I'm not a fan... pure titanium like you get in RE is far superior in my experience. Still, Titanflex were fairly good value I guess since they weren't expensive.

    Hi spectacle factory. I am relatively new to the optical glasses market, but i saw that video where you ranked the brands in categories and all my favourite brands where in Luxottica. Therefore I am unsure what to buy. My preferences are full rim, no metal. When it comes to style I want something very classy, elegant and sophisticated. I am wearing most of the time suits therefore it should be not tacky at all like TOM FORD. I have pretty similar face shape like you I´m blond and white. And there is no budget limit. I would really appreciate it if you could help me out here. P.s. Really good content

    I am sure they are all well made but personally I don’t like any of them. For the gold sunglasses the Cartier ones you showcased some videos back I think are better, but then all of this is pretty subjective. Great video as always though. Forgot to add the Mclarens look interesting though, that will be a video to watch out for.

    • @thespectaclefactory
      @thespectaclefactory  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      That's cool. These are all pretty different frames so I can totally understand a lot of people not liking them. In fact, none of them are my taste except the Lucas de Stael, but I can see the beauty in all of them for the right person.

  • @DuncanKay
    @DuncanKay ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I'd still go for simple.
    Though adding Boss gold-plated ones for collection wouldn't be all that bad.

    I feel that I am alone in the world of fashion frames, and wish there was more design creativity with wire rimmed styles. My parents made me wear heavy black plastic frames through the 60s. Even crystal frames feel visually heavy on me. I do like glasses that are a bit "out there" in design, but with my thin short white hair and very fair skin, bold heavy frames don't work for me. Big round lenses almost always touch my cheeks.
    All your introduced choices are beautiful, just not for me. My favorites are LA Eyeworks, maybe with Adaptive Sun lenses...

      >My personal suggestion, i wouldn't change what i like to wear just because i feel like it "doesn't look right on me", if i were you, wear what you like anyway. If somebody can't accept you for your personality and expression of what you like, then they for sure aren't people that are very healthy to be around anyway. You live your own life and you wear what you want to wear. I think they DO work for you because that is what u like.

      >Look all around the internet, different brands, and you can even find authentic vintage frames out there that are nice and are literally from another time period. Or use the website where you can try on glasses virtually. You can get any style or shape you want, as long as lense, bridge and temple sizes are YOUR size. Do what I've been taught to do. Go to an eyewear store, try on different SIZE glasses, doesn't matter the shape, and feel what the perfect size is for you. Not too wide on the sides of your head, or too narrow like I've made the mistake of doing and they dig into the side of my head causing a lot of discomfort, then you go search for glasses by your size, maybe like 1 or 2 mm slight differences. You add "lense width" + "lense width" + "bridge width", and that's how you get the total mm length of the front of the frame, give or take a couple of mm because of the width of the piece that connects the arms to the frame itself.

    seen a great bunch of frames on your channel, but I'm reluctant to order frames online without seeing how they fit in person. Is one's only option to hope that your local shop carries the very set of frames you're looking for?

    • @thespectaclefactory
      @thespectaclefactory  ปีที่แล้ว

      Our channel is more about giving people inspiration. We do offer virtual consultations where we will help you with getting the right fit, look etc, if you like, and we now have hundreds of clients all over the world.
      I know it's the way you've always done it, but trying glasses on in front of a mirror has its drawbacks too. Most people tend to choose based on what they are used to and it prevents them getting the best style. Ideally, you shouldn't really choose your own glasses - it's better to be guided by an expert who sees you without any preconceived notion of how you ought to look in glasses, with your input of course.

    • @alanbennett8951
      @alanbennett8951 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@thespectaclefactory OMG, you get on line and do a virtual consultation (actually it's a real consultation, just done via Zoom conferencing I suppose) with someone? How does that work exactly? What's the cost involved? And although those JF Rey frames look really good, and even if you could photo-shop them onto my face, it still wouldn't duplicate how they actually fit on my head. I suppose you can only give guidance on the style to look for locally, etc.? Still, I'm sure your fans would like to know the details of your virtual consultations.

    • @thespectaclefactory
      @thespectaclefactory  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We don't charge, and no obligation to buy... basically I will get to know you, understand what you're trying to acheive from your new pair, and help you select the perfect ones.
      You don't get to try the glasses on before you get them. But if you somehow don't like them we will exchange them.
      Obviously don't do it unless you trust me. I've don't this for hundreds of clients now, including many of the fans commenting on our videos.

    I look forward to your video on the McLaren frame. I must admit to being a bit disappointed with the finishing on the one piece Ti front model I looked at. There were a lot of nice elements to it, but it felt like it was missing something for a £1100 frame. Hopefully they tidy up the details for the next iterations.

    • @thespectaclefactory
      @thespectaclefactory  ปีที่แล้ว

      What aspect of the finishing did you not like? I'm really curious

    • @iamgeoffclements
      @iamgeoffclements ปีที่แล้ว

      @@thespectaclefactory The main one was the junction between the arm and the front was inconsistent side to side which surprised me.
      On a more subjective note, I'd have like to have seen that join being much closer fitting so you don't get the softness into the split line, but that is probably difficult with how the two parts are individually finished.
      They were nice, but I didn't feel they were £1100 nice, so I'm in some ways glad they aren't in the back of my mind tempting me to spend the money!
