I also enjoy this show and am eager for season 2. It would be great if Mizu and Taigen end up in a happy relationship despite their complicated past. Despite their childhood issues and occasional conflicts, they have been there for each other on multiple occasions and seem to have some underlying feelings, even if they claim to dislike each other.🥰

Not sure if ring would let it slip but totally agree with taigen staying at the forge masters place. While Akemi would not mind having taigen around I’m sure he would wanted as he was the only other person to witness the shogun’s disrespect death. The shoguns wife really held the power. Taigen having literally no other place as he’s probably wanted, no longer a student, his rival is missing, and he hates his home town I’m sure him and ringo would go across seeking mizu for 1 reason or another The big issue is what are they going to do about Japan since mizu is across the sea and ringo and taigen probably going to chase that leaves only Akemi left in Japan vs the shoguns wife
I hope for a more Taigen redemption arc. I think he can be a good man for Mizu. He realise people like him who called her a monster, treating her bad & the people who Create her, they made her this way & it wasn't her fault. Taigen realized something that bc Mizu saved him despite them starting out on bad terms & sense childhood bc she's mixed. Even if they don't end up as a couple, Taigen will be by her side & loyal to her till his own death.

This might seem weird at first but it sort of reminds me of Trigun in some ways! You’ll probably want to start with the reboot (Trigun Stampede) since that’s more similar to this IMO and much faster to watch (it’s only one season so far) but the old anime and the movie are also absolute fire. I won’t get into why it reminds me of Trigun to avoid spoilers, but it just does lol

I don’t think they’ll have a happy ending y’all, after all it’s not that kind of show. I think Mizu will die because of the whole “if you set out on the path of revenge you need to dig two graves, one for your enemy and one for yourself“ stuff. Maybe there’ll even be a point where Mizu might rethink her revenge because by then she’ll have something to lose, but then someone’s death becomes a plot device that drives Mizu to go through with her revenge plot to the bitter end.
