I have this same machine! And love it. It’s a Perfect all in one! And I feel like it does a better job pushing and all then my d4 but vs letting my d4 go I kept it and use both 😂 but you will like the case!

What a brilliant bit of kit well done to Case for listening to the customers, I wonder if Case are looking at a quick change system from steel tracks to rubber tracks, would save people like DP's business a whole lot of time and therefore money, as you would definitely only need one piece of equipment to do many jobs. Getting Jerry to sit in it, might take a minor miracle, mind you he jumps into the 850 now, with no problem, especially when it's hot. 🤗

Ah finally the Minotaur video. I’ve gotta get on another one. I’ve spent about 6-8 hours on one. It was weird in its own way, but it works very well for what it is (compact dozer/skidsteer combo). This and a similar weight excavator would be perfect for a small excavating business. There’s still a need for a smaller skid steer due to the size of the case. But you can’t have everything although they did a very good job trying and engineering everything

I can’t actually see them or another company eventually making additional implements that can be attached in place of the ripper for added functionality. It would be really cool to be able to have access to an extra tool on that tractor. Saw another review that said the rubber tracks surprisingly pushed better than they thought and that they pushed better than the 18” triples. Really like that bigger screen for added information.

Sure looks like it brings a lot of quality versatility to the job site .
Versatility is a challenge , quality versatility is a whole other dimension .
Lots of times you end up with a multi tool that can do many things and cannot do anything very well versus a dedicated purpose built tool .
So this Case machine looks to really up the game , especially for small to medium operations who can consolidate machines , add flexibility to their fleet , and , the ability to step up to larger projects .
It is an impressive machine .
I wonder if a mini tile plow attachment or one for PEX water supply is in its future ?
Just make sure Matt knows it does not float .

  • @pjs5191

First thing I noticed was the exposed hoses on the back of the machine and if that would become a problem when mulching brush or other times when branches or something might catch and tear them up.

I don’t get jealous very often but man I’d love to get my hands on one of these. I have been following this machine since it debuted at con expo. I would love to see this thing with a forestry mulcher. I gotta upgrade my case 445ct and this monster could replace the 445ct and my worn out Komatsu D31. The only thing that scares me the most is all the technology and computers that must be in it, the more sophisticated these machines get the less self service an owner can do. Looking forward to more content and you feedback.

Mike once you get used to sitting in the engine room and not on top of it like the 850 you will fell right at home and at ease along with its useful traits. When you go to some of the projects that Matt finds where you could use a dozer, skid steer and a loader you would chose this machine against at least two trailer full of transportation to and from site. The only thing missing is the backhoe attachment and you could lose the little kitty Cat Mini. Looks awesome shame about hinged fixed door and not an up and over one. Always think of Farmer Chris and him getting stuck that day is my concerns with fixed doors. Stay safe and well and above all enjoy the Case and I await your posts to travel that journey with you.

The distance from the front of tracks to the back of the blade looks longer than is typical for dozer. If I am correct, that will really affect performace.

Wow, if the Minotaur has the capability of the D4 it would make sense for a contractor. Two pieces of equipment for the price of one (and a half probably). Looking at the mounting points on the top of the blade, is it capable of "machine control" for grading?
MBTS will REALLY like those steps when he checks fluids in that machine.
A suggestion for Case. How about an optional "snow plow edge" to replace the cutting edge on the bottom of the blade? Something a bit cheaper to replace after it gets worn down scraping on pavement.

I like the concept... I am not a full time operator, but I do run "rental" equipment on commercial construction job sites. I think this is a brilliant concept for small, congested job sites. First question is how will it handle when on side-hill? CTL's tend to be top heavy and want to roll. Will you be able to blade off pond dam faces? Second question is the track base seems to be shorter than your D4. Will the shorter base affect grading ability? Will it washboard?
