I just got a 93 w250 5 speed a couple weeks ago, I'm learning alot from your videos! Thanks for the wealth of information! Any steering stabilizer recommendations?
My dad won't be out there at the meet he's living in Ontario still. Looking forward to the meet though! Make sure to send me an email with a pic of your truck if you haven't already! The bilsteins helped dampen things a bit but it's tough to avoid the front leaf spring ride quality.
It has been some time since this was posted. I'm completing a full restoration on my 91.5 w250. I am wondering if you would still by the same Bilstein shocks you installed in the video or something different
Did you notice a rougher ride or smoother ride? Usually when shocks are wore out you will get a softer ride with leaf springs and when you put on a new shock it is so stiff that you can feel every little bump
I ended up just going with the Monroe shocks for the front end on my 92 didn't really get much of a ride difference for my 2nd gen with the bilsteins all the way around. Might do bilsteins for the rear of the 1st gen I'm not sure.
So could I essentially measure my current shocks on my truck and then buy some that measure out the same? I’m wanting to put some Fox or King remote reservoirs under it but I can’t find any info on anyone doing it. I’ve got a 1992 w350

Glad they are helping! I haven't installed any steering stabilizers on mine yet.
Old school tip...Clean your threads, dab of anti seize, dad of grease on the bushings to reduce wear, keeps them fresh forever.
Looking forward to meeting w you and your dad at the meet in august. Would have liked to hear what a difference in the ride the new shocks made?

Yeah that been working great for me since I installed them!
thanks for the video, tyler. any torquing specifications for the nuts and bolts you know of?
How are the shocks holding up? I just ordered some for my dodge thanks for the part numbers.
They are working great! Been loving them.
try liquid dish soap for rubber bushing/hoses , from a 40 yr HD Mech
Thanks!
On one of your videos you talked about a speed reducer a little do you remember what website that was I would really appreciate the help
What were the extended/compressed lengths on the front shocks?

Things were less bouncy that's for sure.
I put bilsteins on my 1st gen and it feels a whole lot smoother
do you still have the truck?
Yes! Ol' reliable. Shocks seem to be holding up since I installed them. You can still tell you are riding in a first gen though... lol
@@OvensGarage what a clean truck. I can't even find one like that here in Florida

That BIll StEin suspension
Hell yeah, fellow QR fan
What size tire is in the video? I'm trying to figure out how much lift mine has.
235s
What is your front suspension setup? Are you leveled in the front any? I’m not sure if these shocks will work with my stock height W250. Thanks!!
My front is leveled (about 2 inches higher than stock)

Yes as long as the travel of the shocks won't be over extended
What did you end up using?
Nice! but that undercarrage needs a wash!
is this the stock ride height?
The front of the truck is leveled (so about 2" on front lift)
Is it a Cummins
Or a 302 boss??
Cummins
My friend you install the shocks upside down....
You sure don't cut any corners on that old Dodge lmao
Thanks!
Wrong shocks, for sure
Cheers
