Thank you, thank you for being so generous with your time and sharing your process. I was stuck on one particular step, and was about to dismantle the entire desk until I found your video. Great job, and thank you again!
I ordered his and hers today. I get to assemble them both next week. I am one of those people who believe: The body cannot go where the mind has not gone first. You have shown me the way. Thank you for your video, I am ready to go!
@@abundantentropy5232 Your video made my setup so easy to assemble, I didn't have to look that much at the manual, only to make sure I have the correct screws.
THANK YOU! You kept me company while I put together my desk. I went back and forth between the directions and the video. I didn't use a drill; it was not difficult with the Allen Wrench and the screwdriver. Thank you for your time, editing, and posting this!
Thank you for the video. I was looking for pictures or videos of the Maple Laminate Uplift top to see what it looks like in real life beside from the picture show in uplift. I think I will get the white frames.
Great video. Can you tell me what shade is the Metallic - industrial finish? I want the exact same top you have but debating on the color for the frame itself, between gray and this industrial metallic. Ideally I would want a dark brown color for the frame but they do not offer that color.
Great assembly tutorial! Question.... 1) Did the crossbar seem like it could extend much longer... to about 70in? 2) when you attached the 2 crossbars to one another, i noticed that there was only 2 pre-drilled holes on ONE of the crossbars. when connecting them into each other, does it seem like those 2 screws will actually hold the crossbar in place - and not move?
I'm glad you liked the video! Answers to your questions: (1) The cross bar installed is currently 53" in width between the legs, but the top of the desk frame is 59.5". So, my 60" desktop is extending 1/4" over on each side. If you want the actual dimensions of the cross bar, the outer sleeve portion measures 33". Unfortunately, I can't access the inside bar without disassembling. But if you go back to the beginning of the video (th-cam.com/video/adM9aJKADz8/w-d-xo.html ), it looks the inner bar is just a tad bit longer. So, 33" + 33" only gets the cross bar to 66". Not quite 70". But if you add 6.5" (the difference between my cross bar length and the top of my desk frame) to the 66", you get 72.5". This should fit at 70" desktop no problem. (2) The two screws are actually set screws. So they don't screw thru the inner bar, but instead press into and really squeeze the inner bar to hold it in place. I tightened the screws pretty tight and feel like the cross bar isn't' going anywhere as a result. It has felt very sturdy in the few months that I've had the desk. I move it up and down ~ 3 times a day. When sitting, I've been using the cross bar as a foot rest and it hasn't felt anything but strong and stable the whole time. I hope this helps!
Thank Dan P! On my desktop, there were indeed pre-drilled holes for the wire management tray. The instructions said "Most UPLIFT desktops include holes between the grommets for attaching the Wire management tray. If you choose to place the tray in a different location, make a pencil mark at each mounting hole location and attach tray to your desktop using two #10 x 5/8" wood screws." (These screws were included with the desk.) "If needed, follow the instructions in Step 5 for pre-drilling tray mounting holes." So, I guess not all of their desktops come with the pre-drilled holes like mine. Hope this is helpful!
No. With my torso touching the desk, there is still 8" before my shins would touch the cross bar. I sometime use it as a foot rest when I'm feeling lazy.
Thanks. I'm glad this video was useful for you. I really like the desk so far. I move it from sitting to standing or vice versa ~ 3 times a day on weekdays and it still very solid. I really like being able to use the cross bar as a foot rest and the desktop surface has held up really well so far too. Everything still looks and performs like new.
@@abundantentropy5232 Hi! You mentioned the cross bar being a good foot rest: do you find it uncomfortable with bare feet? Also, have you used a foot hammock? Just wondering how they compare.
Thanks for commenting! 1) Not for free. I purchased the desk myself directly from Uplift (www.upliftdesk.com/uplift-v2-standing-desk-v2-or-v2-commercial/) and paid full price for the configuration details I have in the video details, except I contacted their customer service and negotiated a $50 discount. If you are looking to purchase the desk yourself, I'd recommend contacting them directly to see if you too can get a discount. I'll add this website to the links in the video description. 2) Yes. 2 years later and you're still helping people build their desk. (You helped me build me this week). Thanks! 😊
I liked watching it in 2x speed. It looked like you were the world's hardest worker!

Hoping to purchase one of these desks I'm trying to decide which colour combination to get. Enjoyed watching the full assembly, thanks for the upload.

Does the crossbar ever get in the way? Do you ever smack it with your legs?
what are those black brackets for that you sent aside at the end? I have them too and I have no idea what they are for lol.
Same. I didn't know what they were either, but ended up googling it. This reddit forum was helpful --> redd.it/jd8k6r
Thanks for the helpful video. Were there pre-drilled holes for your wire management tray that was included?

Does the back under bar hit your leg?

9:30 shouldn't tighten these all the way at first just in case you need to make an adjustment
love you mam
53:40 if the control box is not secure, it will not operate
Maybe I'll watch this later. I watched until the drill came out at 6 minutes (only a knucklehead would use a drill to assemble something like this.)
