Never broken the 10 second mark yet though. Insurance. never a problem. The only cops that have pulled me over have been friendly ones to have a look at my bike or tell me to take it easy with the speed. Never had a ticket. The 'cop problems' we don't have outside the U.S. ...
I had a Gen-1 Hayabusa back in '03. It was my first motorcycle. I put 10k miles on it in 4 months of owning it. I loved riding it, it was just so much fun. I totally agree on #10 of your list. If one is not very careful and cognizant of their speed on this machine, the points on your license will start accumulating at a fast rate. I got two speeding tickets on it, and almost a third. The only reason I didn't get the third ticket was because the officer received a more pertinent call while he had me pulled over, so he had to leave. After that, I purchased a "Valentine One" radar detector for the bike. That helped. I eventually wrecked the bike. I was coming up on a traffic light in a 55 zone, and the girl in front of me (in a green Saturn) hesitated at the light as if she was going to go through it (the light had turned yellow), then immediately braked and stopped. I had my head turned away when she braked as I thought she was going to go through the light, so I was going to go through it too right behind her. So, that was the end of my fun with the 2003 Hayabusa. That was 21 years ago, and I haven't rode a motorcycle since. I'm now ready to get back into it, and going to look at a Gen-3 Hayabusa this weekend. There's just no other motorcycle for me. It's Busa or nothing. I'm pleased to see that the new Gen-3s have all the tech, including CRUISE CONTROL. That should help me keep my speeds down. I'll still get another Valentine One radar detector for it though. I"m 21 years wiser and mature than I was the last time I had the beast, so hoping that helps as well.

I have no idea how that's even possible. That is who I use for everything, home... auto... bikes and even with all my discounts, no points on the license, I was still over 50 per month. That's full coverage and 500 deductible.
I can’t wait to get ticketed for so called speeding when I get my Hayabusa. The state/department/precinct will get tired of getting embarrassed/losing court cases due to me having a recording of no speeding and the cop not having a speed reading to prove his ticket💯 Definitely going to rack in more money off of lawsuits than all my yearly investment dividend returns.🎩
My neighbor kid (25ish) got one after riding my 2019. He ended up getting the 2021 model and after a week of ownership ended up smacking a dear at 75mph. Insurance totaled it and he refuses to buy another bike, and yes, he was a noob rider. But you are correct, its a hell of a lot of fun! I’m in my 40s with a good record and experience and if I recall, it was considerably more than my current Geico policy with a bunch of other bikes; hence my comment at the time. I just don’t remember anymore what the number was and perhaps it was based on other factors like where I live and all that other stuff. However I also do remember that I put down not more than 3,000 miles to be ridden a year so even considering that, it was high.
I live in a small hic town in Tennessee and the police are corrupt, sherif daughter got kicked off the force when she was caught with meth, his son (also a cop) was sent to jail for beating an inmate while he was in handcuffs (on film), and the sherif himself tried everything in his power to get them reinstated. They all play dirty around here.

Insurance coverage is ridiculous for the Hayabusa. I have 2 1260cc Ducati, and a 1250cc BMW. Those 3 bikes MSRP are all higher than my 2022 Hayabusa. $1,300 a year for the other 3 bikes combined, and $1,800 for just the gen 3!!! That’s full coverage for the year with a $100 deductible. Needless to say, I had to make some changes, raising the deductibles and changing coverage.
In every aspect of it. Welcome to small town America. Where the cops are dirty and nothing we can do about it. Actually, last year, the sherif was finally thrown from his seat after 15 years, only after his daughter was kicked off the force for getting caught with meth amd his son got kicked off the force for breaking an inmates jaw, on camera, which the inmates hand handcuffed behind his back. I have no idea how that's even possible. That is who I use for everything, home... auto... bikes and even with all my discounts, no points on the license, I was still over 50 per month. That's full coverage and 500 deductible.
It is only for PLPD coverage full coverage is around what you said
State Farm is one of the most expensive insurance companies, especially of your under 40 years old
I can’t wait to get ticketed for so called speeding when I get my Hayabusa. The state/department/precinct will get tired of getting embarrassed/losing court cases due to me having a recording of no speeding and the cop not having a speed reading to prove his ticket💯 Definitely going to rack in more money off of lawsuits than all my yearly investment dividend returns.🎩
I pay $11/mo insurance for my 1300 cc bike....cruiser tho
Just quoted a bussa I am looking at it’s $556 a year or 47 a month
this is more like 8 cons on why not to buy, i absolutely love mine, if you arent a noob, you gonna want 1 of these!!
I ended up selling mine because I had a hard time just going the speed limit. I'll be sticking to the cruisers instead. Cheers.
I concur on the insurance. it was quite the shock!
I think it's an age thing, I have full coverage here in the states and mine is like $40/month
Which insurance company? I call progressive n geico both Is $500 a month
Number 10 was the best point 😂😂
Lol my insurance through geico is $113 a year!
Wow that's crazy. Is it full coverage, what's your deductible, what's your zipcode?
@@BentOaksGarage 67154 $500 deductible. But I'm also 48 and Mike is a 2001 but still a busa. Lol!
That’s not full coverage and no add ons. Nothing wrong with that but some ppl want assurances if stolen or wrecked. JS
Racing?!?! Man, that’s BS. Sorry to hear that.
@@BentOaksGarage wow!!! That’s crazy. Like a movie or something. Lol.
@@jray7265 it is, but sadly it's life around here. If you ever get bored and want a good read, Google Ed Graybeal - washington county sherif. He just resigned cause they wouldn't reinstate his kids.
@@BentOaksGarage I’ll do that as soon as I get home. Very interesting.
Got a 2008 and pay $125 yr
Gen 2 factory kickstand is faulty
Insurance = 😢😢😢
Factory limited 186/299
Mediocre tires
Lack of electronics
Wheelie happy
Well known bike
Relatively cheap
Good acceleration
Cop bait
I got a 2002 busa and no governor
Gotta love it. That special year before the gentlemans handshake agreement between the motorcycle companies. How fast have you had yours up to?
80usd/year for insurance and i have a K6 1000 gsxr in Hungary im lucky i guess🤣😂
My Gen 1 busa is the same as my 2002 SV650S ... class here as Sport Touring.... 450$ each
If a cop pulls you over and gives you a fals tiket, thats calld corruption,
In every aspect of it. Corrupt... currupt... currupt...
186 in under 9 seconds ?
I have a video of it being done under stupid shit people do channel.
My tires lasted 10k
My insurance is 100 dollars a year
Not true.. My 1800 m109 is cheaper than my Busa
What he said but opposite I find.
What “cons”...
&
“WHEELIES” a CON, for a 450lbs bike?🤨
Must be 2 & 3-Gen probs.
#BUSANATION🇺🇸🔥
Had busa gen/1. $3500!!! Burnt that baby up😂😂😂😂
#10 😂😂😂😂
Why would you buy a Hayabusa while the Zx14 is still around?
Because I hate Kawasaki!
@@BentOaksGarage nice
@@BentOaksGarage LMFAO
Kawasaki is a Busa wantabe.
