I was having some issues with the audio I do apologize. **Wheels are sold
check podcastage and/or Curtis Judd here on youtube for audio recording advice
if your just going to use the engine in something else I might be interested in the rest of the bike love the builds brother can't wait to see what you do with it .. no hard feelings if not 🤘🤘🤘
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Could of been driven in a hurricane on the beach. Either way I'm sure you'll find a way to patch her up. I'm excited what kind of turbo your installing and what the build will be.
@@ronniewelch7817 He said in the video that he is going to build a project out of the rolling chassis
Contact the guy and ask him if he's having trouble with his ex girlfriend. Looks like sabotage to me.
I promise you I was thinking the same thing. LoL
Yup!
Yep looks like play sand or a kid
Regardless of the condition that price is something you can’t pass up no joke can’t wait to see what you do with it
Once he fixes it the bike will be worth way more every TH-camr needs a sports bike
I could've passed it up. Lol. Just messing with you
He ain’t fixing it
He’s using motor on something else he said sn selling the parts off bike
Boy got ripped off 2200 for a busa with a trashed engine is way to much 1500 maybe if the rest of the bike was pristine wich it wasn't so 750 to 900 would have been a fair price for that junker.
As far as welding the machined parts bolt a stainless steel bar across the opening and weld against it till the hole is fixed it should give you a fairly flat surface for a gasket
YES! DO THIS! GREAT IDEA MAN!
You should still plane the surface after. Soo. Weld in a section and resurface
We need to setup a gofundme to get Vasily a truck already. Love your channel bro. Your my favorite TH-cam builder
maybe the Goonzquad boys will sell him one...they have more trucks than they know what to do with
And a Handy lift. I wouldn't waste your time with the engine. It's gone!!! In addition of the bottom end, it has to have a valve salad up top.
If every subscriber gave just one dollar, he'd have nearly 300 grand!
I think he can buy it by himself if he has 2200 for a scrap motorbike
@@Egon1982 makes sense
I definitely think the tiny hole happened first and it still ran. dude said fuck it and kept riding it till it got to much road debris and threw a rod. cant wait to see what you do with it tho!!
The hole has to come from somewhere. When shit goes bad enough inside an engine where it starts poking out the case, it's not likely to keep running.
@@eyeballengineering7007 Yeah I agree it definitely would not be running still.
Dude said it was making "pumping sounds".
Maybe a minor low side allowed a rock etc to bust the case but think that's unlikely. The holes were in line as if a rod suddenly decided it needed fresh air.
It's possible to injest road debris in a crash so maybe the bike blew and then went down or atleast off the road at speed causing the foreign matter intrusion.
Idk. It's very suspect but if it was introduced into a working motor there would be signs of it everywhere, not just in the pan.
Definitely sabotaged...good luck with the rebuild on the Busa! Can't wait to see the follow-up on it! :)
Very interesting episode Vasily I reckon almost definitely sabotage. Hopefully sand not able to get through oil pick-up. Price was honest though... Just have to get bearing clearances data regardless of matching halves. Lining up crank bearing caps, you should see if anything looks off when you take head off engine(looking through).
Well its up to personel taste. I think the bike looks dope with the fat rear wheel and the custom exhaust and chrome stuff. Looks really sick, but I understand what you wanna do with it. Looking forward to it.
No half measures with you vasily! can't wait to see what you drop it in but just be careful bud it's a beast of an engine
Flipped sparkplug socket and an extension works for the front axle, too
Thats how I did mine, accidentally figured it out while bending my brain on how to get it off 😅
if the hole was underneath it could simply be sand / dirt of the road which was blown into the whole, he will have driven it a fair distance before it completely tanked. It not sugar though as it not sitll be crysalised. I guess there is a chance its sabotage but I think my first guess is more likely.
Hole
Vasily, I think you will have no problem getting the engine running once again. You have the skills!
Appreciate that 🙏
Yes agreed , time for another rebuild..
I've been working on Hayabusas since the first one made in 99, they are amazing engines. There are lots of good parts there to use or sell, but do yourself a favor and get another engine, that one is toast. Don't forget, the Buss engine has no sleeves, just coated aluminum bores. Those motors are plentiful, don't waste a bunch of time on that one. On a lighter note, I wonder how much of that bike isn't stolen? Lol
He said clean title. Why would you randomly assume a theft is associated?
Only thing that's obvious is your racist personality.
@@muhammadsteinberg 🙈🙉🙊
@@muhammadsteinberg why would that be racist
@@IStarryZz Don't know if you're playing stupid or just naieve. In case you're naieve...You don't see unnecessary comments about something being stolen on other innocent post when restorations are done.. This jerk is playing up on stereotypes because the seller happens to be black. The poster said it was a clean title.
@@muhammadsteinberg Are you really blind to the fact that your statement is racist? Sounds like you have a lot of hate in your heart for whatever reason. I pray that you find some peace 🙏❤
you can cut the oil filter and see if there is more sand or whatever
That's almost a guarantee. I would probably replace the oil pump too. It has to have been thrashed. Hopefully, the filter caught everything and the bearing journals aren't absolutely wasted everywhere. It should have. But, there is a bypass on almost all oil filters after they get plugged up to bypass the filter guts and make sure the bearings don't starve. I've never cut a sport bike filter apart for some reason though.
@@eyeballengineering7007 yes of course, I was just curious to see how much sand was trapped inside the filter
I'm interested in this project. I bought a new '06 'Busa too. Still have it. A fantasy has been to use the motor for something wild. Probably never will.
I hope you can get parts put it all back together and get that motor running love to see what you do with this and the frame love the channel keep up the great work
you are 100% correct. Somebody put a handful of sand into that engine. Probably somebody that did not like those short muflers and was sick of all the rev bombig and shiny chrome from that bike. Good luck rebuilding the engine. Cant wait to see a "big" turbo on that engine.
Damn sounds a little personal for you bud lol. Anyone who sabotage someone’s build is a piece of shit. And very well could’ve hurt the rider or killed them doing so.
Or clutch material from abused clutch.all ends up stopping up oil pump pick up
Id guess the bike slid down the road, wore a hole in the engine cover picking up sand and other road junk. Travis swapped out the engine cover with the hole in it with a new one and didnt bother to clean the debris out first.
The whole thing with case half’s being machined together as matching pairs is mostly a myth. I’ve ordered case half’s many many MANY times on eBay individually and only had an issue once and still was able to make it work with some gentle machine work…. Castings these days especially from Japan are done to such tight tolerances and so many are made the quality is unreal. The likelihood of you having an issue with buying a spare half is slim. Also I think the engine either threw a wrist pin, or they where beating the balls of it doing burnouts with a crazy hot engine and the big end just let loose. It’s more than likely dropped a valve and ruined a head aswell.
Sport bikes cases are nothing like dirtbike cases.there cast as a matching set due to clearance reasons. Just like you can’t replace cam caps with other cam caps off another bike cam caps are clearanced to the head it came with from the factory . Blow that bogus advice up some one else as’s. A dirtbike case can interchange on every brand but Kawasaki. Kawasaki is the only one that cast matches them as a pair. Has to be a matching set with Kawasaki. Honda ,ktm, Yamaha, Suzuki sells both engine sides separately so obviously they don’t cast match
With all your experience can I ask u have u ever had an issue with out of round or tapered main bearing bores I’ve measured up three sets of cases if FZ 750 Yamaha ones and they all have the same prob ( no brg shells in ) any recommendations on fixing the prob besides binning the cases btw all the engines were runners Can I ask how u plastigage your brgs and crank do u measure two sides at once or one. Thank u
@@karlvanboxel561 get it bore honed. Any good machine shop can do it . . Make sure they know what there doing first.
Case halves are line bored together, any fool saying otherwise is just that, a fool. Your crank has snapped, that's why the you have a rod popping out.
@@thedirtyworkshop thank god for people like me and you that don’t spill out bad advice . I can’t stand kids that spew out bullsh’t . Thanks for telling him what’s up.
Don't hurt yourself man your builds keep getting crazier 😂 love your videos keep em coming
God bless you sir! Love to see this busa work!!
I'm hella surprised u got that bike in a Honda Odyssey 🤣🤣
Right! That was my thoughts as well and I can't believe nobody else said anything haha 🤙
dude, everything FITS in a honda odyssey... lol
I got a Sportster in a Honda Odyssey
@@turbomustang84 u must be good at the game Tetris 🤣🤣
I was like wtf???🤣🤣🤣🤣👊
my theory is they blew a hole in the block but the engine still ran so they said fuck it and kept riding, dirt got in the engine through the hole and eventually the 2nd hole happened
Exactly what I was thinking once he showed the second tiny hole
I don’t know if anyone has said this already but a good way to tell if it’s actually sand in the engine is if there is actually an air filter in the filter box.
usually on suzukis, you can see if the crankcases are matching numbers by removing the left engine cover and then the flywheel, the codes are right there; and as far as I know, motorcycle crankshafts can't be repaired as they run on very low tolerances(less than 0.004mm, that's like 0.00015 inches)
Oh yea you can rebuild cranks, you need a press and good measurements like you said and more but people do it. clearances will be different for different models and manufacturers but I would guess you measure it before you take it apart and see what it is.
Chrome don’t get ya home!! Love watching the channel dude!!
That will be an awesome motor can’t wait to see what you build! There’s a guy limitless builds that is making a turbo hayabusa Willy’s jeep that might give you some ideas
Homies ex girl for sure poured sand in oil fill 😂
Holy smokes I think your right 🤣
Be very careful if you rebuild that engine. If thats sand, glass or whatever its going to have gone through everything. Getting it all out will be almost impossible (especially from coolers/etc) and even the smallest piece left will destroy it again.
Not something you want happening when you've got something capable of 200mph+.
Get another engine and sell the good parts from this one - it will pretty much fund it, save you a heap of time and you're less likely to die.
Maybe the engine can go into a classic Mini Cooper? Good luck with it, catch you on the next one.
No matter what happened to that engine I have no doubt you will get it back up and running. Anxiously awaiting to see what you will build to put this engine in.
Why care? Kids care about so many pointless things it's incredible. Yet the world is failing and they could care less. Kind of amusing though tbh.
Enjoy all your content from the scratch built from the ground up projects to your ripping around on your wicked creations. That said it’s super cool seeing you rebuild engines and this busa rebuild is going to be a lot of fun to follow. Okay keep up the good work!
Looking forward to the epic project you’ve got planned for this monster! Drop that motor into an aluminum jet boat, and hit Cleatus up for a collab’! Keep doing what you do!
5 speed gear box jet boat?? There’s multiple reasons people don’t use bike motors in jet boats. Hayabusa severely underpowered compared to supercharged seadoo motor.
That would be INSANE
Or a Toyota starlet
I've heard of sand put in fuel tanks to destroy engine's, but sand added to gearboxes that's a new one. I'm thinking it would sink to the bottom of the casing and most of it would stay there with the engine running. Maybe cut open the oil filter to see if it was circulating through the engine.
19mm hex keys are pretty available and inexpensive. they may have over revved it and blew the motor...and from sitting around sand got into it...or it was laid down in a sandy area after it blew... Marine Crankshaft does great work on crank repair.
I own a 2007 hayabusa recently got it tuned getting ready for the summer. I also have a 08 zx6r. I love riding.
Wow, that thing is thrashed! Hope you can get it running again.
My guess is the previous owner was bouncing off the rev limiter out of gear and the engine gave up. The filter probably caught whatever the sand like stuff is from getting into the engine.
1:16 - The precise moment you got ripped off.
You have a hitch on that vehicle. U-Haul rents a motorcycle trailer for $16 and it makes bringing bikes home so much easier. I brought 2 bikes home recently and used a U-Haul trailer behind my minivan both times since it gets better mileage than my truck and I didn't need the truck since bikes are light.
That’s exactly the same way I removed the front axle on my triumph. I just used a flange nut for one of them so the socket stopped at the first nut.
Bro, first time I ever seen a full size motorcycle loaded in a mini van, I subscribed just for that. Nice work and beautiful bike Sir!
I am patiently waiting for a new Hayabusa upload... good luck bro!
Will be out later today
You seem to know a fair bit about rebuilding engines so maybe this is a moot point but yummy noob has just finished his turbobusa‘s second rebuild because the first time they used the wrong pistons. Something about too high of compression pistons. Anyway can’t wait to see what you’re up to because just what you’ve described sounds awesome!
If Suzuki builds engines like the ones I build at work the lower block has its own number possibly from an outside supplier and once it’s mated to an upper block that has its own number it will receive a new number for the machining tracking.
So it’s not surprising to have multiple different numbers stamped/punched/etched into the various castings.
A numbers matching engine just means the numbers match the build sheet, not each other.
You are correct about the parts being machined as a set. You might get away with replacing one component but chances are it won’t work without getting a shop to line bore the journal’s.
Some valves are hollow and filled with sodium, so maybe the sand you see came from the valves. Just an idea worth looking into.
Toss the entire engine and find a new donor engine. You're going to have debris everywhere in the oil journals and possibly all the way up to the heads damaging those cams. It is absolutely not worth your time and money to restore that engine
Hell yeah to picking up bikes in Honda Odyssey!!! That’s my designated bike hauler as well
awesome vid man. good luck on your build. first bike I took down all the way to bare frame was a old school gold wing. fun times !
How about the new 459 V-twin Predator engine in the bike frame?Use the bike engine for a SxS cart?
🤣🤭
Could you fix it and ride it for few days at least and than use it as a donor wehicle or engine etc
In the hands of a patient man.. It can be fixed. 🔧
Will be fun to watch..
🏁😎👍
I was wondering if a mini van could make a bike hauler lol. That's a clean bike even if it needs work, definitely not a rust bucket! Looking forward to your builds, I subscribed!
Cr500 swap? Just gonna send it on that rebuild!! Great vids!!
Honestly should've bought a Suzuki bandit 1200 and did turbo build they love boost and are oil cooled simple fast bikes
I wish all the luck in the world, you might want to look at some of Allen Millyard's videos where he makes a 2 cyc bike engine into a 4 cyc engine maybe you can see how he does blocks...
i bought a 2004 busa and paid 4k has no problems and runs strong and it has low miles. You won’t regret it man
I parted many of those 1st gens, I have the whole stock bottom end of the engine in my garage, been sitting for over 10 years 2005 model.
Is that saw-dust in the oil pan? My guess is saw dust to try to stop it from burning oil or a nasty oil additive... maybe send Blackstone a sample.
Gday Vas,,
Id say the foreign material is likely to be clutch , the bearings will tell the story.
The dude prob thrashed it ,smokin the tyres till he cooked it,
If it is still in spec & can be rebuilt ,,,
It can be rebuilt BETTER....!!!
Lookin forward to this one,,

nothing brings me more joy than a new vasily video, much love my man!!!
Great and Motivating to hear!
I didn't know you liked clapped out machines. You should look for a front lifted truck too when you are in the atlanta area.
Remove the swing arm and wheels can get the amount purchased out of them the exhaust around $4-600 not many people like the double exhaust or yoshi mainly brocks system is go too best power gain outside of turbo
Gen 1 cases are great strong and hold power us 2nd gen crank and cams whatever rods pistons you please stroker build significant power gain low-end have the transmission undercut and polished while engines apart 1st gen are known for killing 2nd gear without that work done
Seeing u break down that bike with basic tools and no lift, it reminds me of myself doing the exact same thing decades ago. U have a very bright future ahead of u if you chose to continue doing this. However, it would do u good to invest in new equipment. If u can. It makes the job a lot easier. Also, at my shop…. We build engines for racing or jus simple rebuilds. I would recommend that u NOT try and weld those holes. Even though it would work for awhile. It would best to just purchase another bottom half and top half. Also, u need to measurements of ur crankshaft and connecting rods. Hope this help. Good luck to ya
Smart car with this engine.
I can see it now and I know you can build it!
Sabotage is the best theory. Ground glass, silica from a sand blaster or road junk. Any one of those foreign substances are the culprit. As long as you were going to tear it down anyway, it’s a moot point. Looks like it’s going to be an exciting build.
While you have the engine out get that second gear undercut. Guaranteed to start slipping if it’s not already. Just a heads up. Good luck on the build!
On everything my 2nd gear slipping. I quick shift to 3rd everytime
Guy down the street from me has a Datsun B210 With a Turbo zx14 with over 400 H/P The thing rips. He Rally cross races it in PA.
interesting i sold my old fully working busa for a bar chocolate and cup tea as I was leaving the country I have since been told that picking up a free busa is not that big a deal. Good luck with build
Good price buddy check the frame for cracks last thing you want is the front fork split into half causing your head to split open, 2 wheels means no joke this shit will kill within seconds.
I have a complete Prostreet spec low compression engine with non intercooled turbo set up. “Stage 1” would be the easiest way to say it. Made 380 on 30 psi on C16. Can provide more details if interested.
Good luck and sorry for the engine i saw lot of ppl put sault, sugar and stuff in others tanks or mix em with ether oil or gas this is so evil
This is ganna be a epic build for sure. Keep it street Vasily, we really wanna see you smoke that supra😂
Ole Vasily is a busa boy now... I can't wait till he's a boosted busy boy I'll be watching closely for your next few videos!!!
Looks like 80 grit glass beads. I use them in my blast cabinet.
I like the exhaust! I like big bikes they last better if you go easy on them! Everything bigger and tougher.
Gotta love the plastic chrome frame guards..what a state that poor thing is in. Good to hear you're putting a stock swingarm back on it. Good luck.
IF that is sand in there and the bike was purposely sabotaged - Oil pump will be scored, MOST of the bearings will be gone, the HEAD will be trashed where the cams ride in the head- basically, all junk
I love how y’all got that bike in a mini van. HELL YEAH
Sombody dinden't like the guy 😂😂😂 great vidéo man🇺🇸🇫🇷
I wish you take your time and build the whole motorcycle... and post it one video...With few time laps and explanation clips... it would be sooo cool...
for 2.2k usd, the fastest way to get out is probably to find on a grey market complete engine and swap to a frame and sale it...selling it by parts will take long imho
You got that thing in minivan? Wow!!! Dope purchase.
Did mice get to the air filter? You need to do a full teardown. What do the top of the cylinders look like and check the gas tanks. Somebody might have tampered with it. It culd be it was smoking and they thought it was on fire and put sand on it.
in 2000 I bought new busa to use as a drag bike. after a little work it made 172hp to the wheel and I sold the bike after five years of racing. Not one engine issue. all stock bottom end. If this guy scattered the motor on a low miles bike he was bouncing it off the limiter
You can make that money back just by selling the rims and tires. You have a goldmine on your hands and if you part the parts you don't need
thats glass sphere beads used in floor coating to stop people from slipping
Good heavens, people have grim tastes, lol. That poor, poor 'busa :( Surprised it didn't have Pep Boys plastic chrome fender vents stuck all over it as well...
could be sugar... but that is mainly pored into gas tanks to ruin the engine by gumming up all the fuel system
if u plan on turboing it u better undercut the transmission 2 gear is common issue to go out
I would say this engine was absolutely thrashed while waiting at traffic intersections.
I have nothing to say about the engine, but I can't quite remember the last time you did an electric bill of some sort. I say you should take the roller chassis and turn it into an electric build
Good buy! Great content! Sick ideas bro keep them coming!
Suspect! The bike was sabotaged! What you pulled out of there looks like it wasn't there long. If you can successfully remedy that engine, you are the man. Alas, best of luck man!
What tool is that to take the header bolts out?
If you get this running again and want to Turbo it I can put you in touch with a great firm here in the UK, they know their Turbos and have over 30 years experience in that field, there are kits for the Busa but if you have the funding Turbo Performance LTD can supply a serious Hybrid Turbo and a wealth of information
I would fix it and run it as those were some mean bikes back in the day. There are crashed bikes out there with engines that still run so you should be able to find another block for it.. I remember people putting those engines in cooper minis back then. You can part it and make your money back and then some if anything. Good luck.
someone pour sugar into the gas tank... LOL
Personally i would scrap the engine, sand or whatever it is would of got everywhere, and caused no end of damage to surfaces, looks like sabotage, get in a bit deeper and see if the valves are snapped,i doubt if that amount of sand would get into an engine on the road, might of been ridden in the desert, that would do it LOL,i just wouldnt trust it at high revs on an expensive rebuild & ive rebuilt a few engins,i trust my own work to deliver.Good luck, subbed.
