I did it! I finally made this using your recipe . The only thing I did different was adding shredded coconut to my sticky rice and a can of coconut milk . I wanted to challenge myself by not cooking the rice beforehand for easy folding. Came out great! Thank you so much for the easy to follow recipes . I really do appreciate all of the videos that you upload. Growing up, my family and I used to make these together. But now that most of the elders are gone, the younger gen doesn’t have the motivation to want to make it. I’m 33 and I am so happy about finally making it myself. I can start the tradition again. Thank you again

Thank you for explaining the stir fry part. I was confused why some people cook it and some didn’t.

This was awesome! I love that you speak both Khmer & English. I've made this only once before as a kid with my mom, so I needed a refresher. It's definitely a lot of work but so worth it. They freeze well too.

Definitely Khmer house, everyone's got a mural of Angkor Wat setting in their living room or entry way :) My family is Khmer and this is the only thing we never make but question, instead of frying the sticky rice, could you not mix the rice with coconut milk? It would make the easier to wrap and give it a nice flavor.

When you stir fry the sticky rice is it cooked already? Or it’s only been soaked

Update! I made a vegan version of it using an electric pressure cooker and it was done in an hour! So yes it does work.
