Lived in Asheville 20+ years and have been to the botanical gardens a few times and have never taken the time to learn the history. Thank you for the eye-opening informative video. Excited to go back now. Thank you....

Wow. Thank you so much for this history lesson. I was born and raised in NC. Lived in Weaverville all my life. I live in Asheville now. I never knew anything about the Battle of Asheville and I am 56 years old. I visited the botanical gardens many years ago. I am going to make a point to go back now with all this new information. Thank you so much again.

Askew's book is an invaluable tool I've used to research the war here in East Tennessee. I recommend it to anybody who is curious and having difficulty finding documentation of this mostly forgotten, but, highly critical part of the Civil War.

We plowed up a Union rifle in Candler nc in Hominy valley smith cove rd neighborhood in 1984 and wondered how it got way out there and some fired lead bullets were in the same field up high on a mountain .

Love Virginia ! Lot of that up there for sure. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment!
I have roamed a lot of that country and the parks are great but the many trenches and sites I have enjoyed were also on private property with permission. I am pretty sure most of the residents in Asheville know about these earthworks. I hope you will consider subscribing and sharing the videos you like as it means everything in relation to me being able to continue producing content and building my channel. I appreciate it.
