Great time out Clay. Only found Xander a few months ago but he is good guy and its great to see he's got you and Benji to mentor him. Hope he catches the bug. Nate
Clay, this is awesome to see. I've thought about asking you a few times for this type of experience but then never got the gumption to actually ask. I grew up fishing I have come to love hunting but getting into it as an adult can be a huge and daunting task, and sometimes it is a little overwhelming. I appreciate your videos and the others in this community who have been a huge help in learning these skills.
This video is fantastic! So glad to see you and Mr. Budnick together for a hunt! Great content as always. Thanks for all the hard work you put into these videos. Cheers!
Awesome video and can't believe you have Xander on here. He is becoming one of my favourite people to watch on TH-cam . Looking forward to the next episode. 💯 😎
I always enjoyed my hog hunts in the coastal marshes of Georgia with PBS...always exciting, never easy...and someone always ends up crotch deep in pluff mud or water...hahaha. Good job fellas.
I understand the dnr's reasons for culling the herd, but I hate to think the hogs are wasted when so many people could be fed. Wishing you guys best of luck harvesting some hogs.
Having lived near some marsh wet area water 90% of my life I would know better in big marsh areas to have the muck/wader boots for the day if really going into those areas as that one guy did not have that first day. There are some Ithica models that are not that expensive for the few times I would be doing this. I do not have the almost hip wader boots/muck. Yes I like you Clay grew up hunting in South Dakota but not any Bow stuff, so I like your content for this type of info on hunting animals with a bow.
So, never hunted down south, just in the cold north woods. What about gators, and snakes? How do you handle them, or are they not in those areas? Looks like fun.
I live in wisconsin. Go do it. Cheap hunt. We bring a chest freezer filled with froze 5 gallon buckets.30 years hunting them only seen 2 diamond backs. Shot one cuz I stepped on it.Lots of moccasins, but it is winter and all reptiles are more sluggish. Trail cams the first run out helps find em, a big help.I buckshot em. 14 in 6 days this year. Left early .freezer full. Central or n florida is great. We hunt a central florida wma connected to every other central florida wma
Clay - is that the heat-treated bow that you featured in one of your videos? The one where you took it up North for a couple of fellas to help you finish if off. If so, how many inches of set is it now retaining (after being strung all day long)? Finally, is it as good as one of your prime Osage bows?
It's not the same one but very similar. Same design just a little wider. This one started with nearly 4 inches of backset and comes back with straight limbs immediately after unstringing after being hunted all day for several days in a row. A top quality osage would do better than that. But, that's not to say that fire hardened hickory isn't, or can't be as good as osage. I think it owes more to my knowledge of the process than to the wood itself. I still have much to learn!
I'm sorry that one of our politicians used your name to try and get a lawed passed without bothering to research and educate themselves on the training that you do, it's obvious that this politician hasn't even watched any of your videos. There are certain dogs that our people can no longer own due to laws passed on their so called aggressive personalities! The RSPCA say they are protecting the animals but euthanasia is common outcome for dogs that have shown aggressive behaviour. Thankyou for posting this video, these laws get passed without the general public being made aware of them ❤
Thanks again for having me out Clay! I had a blast and learned a ton from you and Benji :D
It was a pleasure having you along. Fine job on your vid as well.
You know he’s hooked in the last 10 seconds.... “that was a big pig”
Thanks for introducing new people to hunting, Clay!

I think he already has!

I’m glad you enjoyed it. I’ll probably end up doing a few “intro to hunting “ type vids this fall.

I definitely see how a recurve outshines a compound in this type of hunt.

Same thoughts here. There's so much meat that just lays out there and rots.
That was a lot of fun to watch. Can't wait till I go on something similar :). Gotta keep practicing till then

looks like you need a prescribed burn to clear out some of that tall dead stuff and make way for new growth !!!!
Yep, but it’s rarely done.
I'm subbed to both you blokes. What is it with youtube!!!?
😁
Thanks

Just step over them most of the time😉

Thank you for the free content clay.
Thanks for watching
Good stuff!!
As always another great video but I wish Benji had a channel
Awesome! Thanks for the video. Btw: what spotlight is that? Thanks!
Drone would come in handy to map out before the jump
That's illegal in many places, because it falls under a category of removing fair chase.

Mine is around 58@29”. Xander’s bow is 50@28”.
