47 years ago i learned how to crochet (taught by my late mother) and I have been crocheting ever since then and now with the internet I can learn allot more stitches. and being lefthanded i dont need to switch to the left handed version i can switch it in my head, and i am working on a blanket for myself with this stitch i just learned and it is so easy and beautiful. Thank you so much Blossom Crochet.
My grandmother taught me to crochet as a child, but I had forgotten how to do it. You revived my interest, and I have found it to be relaxing and enjoyable now at age 66. thank you!
Wonderful tutorial. I haven't crocheted since a preteen, now 80, and you make me want to get started again. I am about to complete my first 8-inch square to contribute to a community blanket project. I love this stitch, especially with variegated yarn. You made it sound so easy.....it was!
Love how this stitch makes variegated yarn look so pretty. It is often difficult to find a nice pattern to match the yarn. I also appreciate the US crochet translation as you went through. It was very much appreciated. I have a rainbow of red, blue, green and yellow yarn to crochet into a scarf. This pattern will be perfect for it.
I have crocheted for many years (off and on) but just the simple single and double crochet stitches. This winter I have decided to learn different stitches. Your tutorials are very easy to follow. They are clear, slow and your directions are very clear. I love that you take the time to show us exactly which stitch we are going to work into. I appreciate that you remind us that you use a UK stitch. It was confusing for me at first but you keep reminding us UK versus US stitch. Thanks for the tutorials.
I really appreciate your tutorials. You don't rush through them like I have seen others do. You actually take the time to explain and show what your doing. It is so helpful for someone like me that is self teaching and has a hard time just reading in a book. I can't wait to get this stitch down and learn others from you. Thank you very much.
Isn't it frustrating when they do that? Even worse are the ones who are crocheting to music and think they're teaching you something. Sometimes there's caps. Sometimes not.
My granny taught me a few stitches when I was really little. I found this channel and am having so much fun. I have 1 ball of yarn and I practice my stitches. Mum thinks it's silly but to her.... everything is silly unless it's exspensive with a high end label. I love all the stories in the comments. It makes me feel like I'm not doing something silly. My granny will show me more stitches when I go to live with her. I'll make something lovely!
Again, another stitch I dare attempt. Wish I had seen your videos when I first started crochet a few years ago. I would not have been doing a plain boring stitch for so long. You are a great tutor.
Thank You for teaching me such an easy stitch! I am starting to crochet baby blankets to donate to the maternity ward of the hospital in my town. I love crocheting blankets and toys for kids of all ages and using this stitch will be a very welcome addition to my blankets donation box. Thank You again!! :o)
I just love your tutorials! I’ve been crocheting for a few years but sometimes I get “stuck” on something so simple lol. I never even thought of a seed stitch for an entire piece before lol! And also I could listen to your accent all day! Thank you so much!
You are a fantastic teacher! Thank you. I understand now where I was making my mistakes with this stitch. I started over and it looks soo much better.😃🦋
Don't quite understand how we call the triples doubles here in US, it seems to me the UK designation is more accurate...lol. But anyway, am a 52 year old male construction worker whose grandmum sparked an interest many years ago. Recently began again with one of your vids on the ridged blanket stitch with chunky yarn and am "hooked". Can't wait to finish the main part and already chosen your simple chain and 3chain loop stitch for my border! Watching you crochet brings back good memories...Thanks for posting.....
Glad you explained the terms as UK and then US. I found a US one and she talked too much and didn't get to the crocheting fast enough. I appreciated your video.
Thank you for this pattern. I have several skeins of a blue variegated which is giving me fits. I have started five or six different patterns but none of them look appealing because the yarn is just too busy but I think this one will work.
I love your tutorials, thank you so so much. Just have to add that I also have a black cat (Bette Davis) who loves to inspect my work as I've noticed in your other tutorials x
very pretty work! nice tutorial. I recently tried using some thin silky 'yarn' like that but it was like crocheting with thread -- very difficult. I will try this stitch. thank you!
Wonderful instruction....thank you for the reminder of the US language.....excellent instructions...thank you ever so much....from the beauty Pacific Northwest of the USofA 👉🏼♥️👈🏼
Thank you so much for the UK and the USA terms. I very new to learning crochet so I keep referring to google for hook & wool sizes, this is the first time I’ve realised the stitches are different as well .... which would explain some of the very odd looking samples I’ve made compared to how they should have turned out ... this one looked lovely and I’m definitely going to use it ... after I’ve gone back and had another go some of the others I’ve tried. 😏
Hello from New Hampshire... When I was taught to crochet (here in the US) what you demonstrated as a double crochet, I learned it as a half double. Likewise your treble is my double. What do you call the next stitch up? My treble 🤔. This is a fine example of "two countries divided by a common language"!!! No matter, it is a great tutorial👏🏻👍
I just absolutely Love your tutorials!❣💜💗💚💟 I am so excited to try this bobble stitch tomorrow 1st thing in the morning😍 Your an amazing teacher, Thank you!
I did this in the brand, peaches and cream, yarn size medium 4, 100% cotton, hook size G or 4.25 mm. My yarn was 706 yards long, 14oz net weight or 400 g, that got me started on a blanket that is now 42 inches by 14 inches. ( I do like this, very much so far, I washed and dried it and all the small gaps and mistakes I made seemed to disappear, thanks to how it tightened up.)
How many chains do I need to make for the foundation row for a 36" wide by 40" sized baby blanket and how many skeins of yard will I need if each yarn skein has 262 yards which requires using a I-9 or 5.5 mm crochet hook.. Rose Pierson
My grandma taught me what she called a Lemon Peel stitch that I think is the same or similar. Is that right? Your instructions are very good! Easy to follow thank you.
+Marilyn Porter Hi Marilyn, if you need to start a new ball, join your new yarn through the last 2 loops of the last stitch in your row... if you're not sure how to do this, please take a look at my V Sticth tutorial, at he end of my first row I show how to do the change 🌸😊 Hope this helps!
Beautiful stitch!!! I love it. Thank you for sharing. I have a question. Can you increase using this stitch? How would you suggest increasing-if posible? Thank you again ❤
I made a child's blanket with this stitch and love it. I am new at crocheting and found that my sides are wavy. What can I do to prevent that? I put a border on and it still ripples on the sides. Thanks. Love the videos.🙂
I’ve been doing a similar stitch for years but I don’t know the name. It’s terribly easy but is so pretty. Great for large pieces that you can watch tv and not concentrate too hard. It is simply a dc (British terms for you), treble crochet in the same stitch, skip a stich, repeat across row ending in treble crochet. Do you know the name of this? Thanks for your great tutorials. I’ve been crocheting 45+ years but need to refresh my memory at times and enjoy adding new stitches to my collection.
When I used this stitch in a blanket it really used a lot of yarn. I used a worsted weight and was amazed at how dense and thick the finished product was. You may not want to use a chunky yarn because your stitches will not be defined and it will use up so much yarn.
In the UK what do u call what we in the US call a treble cochet stitch? This is a lovely pattern. I think I will make a blanket for my grandson due 11/30/20. What yarn brand and shade Did you use for your sample shown in your video (your daughters bag) ?
Just wondering if you could do a tutorial on the Angel Cocoon Set by Annie. I don't know how to read patterns yet and I am having my first grandchild. I really want to make this for her. Please
Mombie Zombie I would think it depends on the yarn you’re using and how tight or loose you want your stitches. When I follow along to these great tutorials, I’ll work a small bit and change my hook depending on how it’s looking. Hope that helps a bit!
just wondering, u say in the beginning, chain odd number, but then you do 90? that is not odd number, and when you do second row, does a double come on top of a treble or??
After you finished the foundation chain, it looks like you went into the FIRST chain from the hook instead of the second like you said. Am I missing something? Beautiful stitch!
Hi, Carol Merrick, My work had a tendency to fan, too. I started using a larger hook to work the foundation chain, then use intended hook for the rest of the project. If the yarn type calls for a 6 mm hook, I'll use a 6.5 mm or 7 mm for the foundation chain, then switch to a 6 mm hook for the body of the project. Doing so has helped me tremendously in preventing that 'fan.' 🙂

That sounds like it’s going to look wonderful 🥰 it’s the perfect stitch for variegated!
I'm just glad that, living in the US, they made the conversion from UK terms to US pretty easy haha. I loved the tutorial!

I love seeing tutorials using variegated yarn.
This is a beautiful stitch, I watched your video and ran to Joann's for yarn and am now on my 3rd blanket. Thank you for such a great tutorial.

What a wonderful thing you do Judi!
Thank you for the clear instructions, and for pointing out those fiddly areas. 🙂

I love this simple little stitch! It creates a beautufuk fabric... Perfect for a sweet little preemie blanket. Thank you.
Beautiful stitch. Thank you for sharing it with us. I see a baby blanket for someone in my future. God Bless You.
I am working with a shiny variegated yarn, and this stitch is perfect for it. The simple stitch shows off the yarns colorful quality.
You are a fantastic teacher! Thank you. I understand now where I was making my mistakes with this stitch. I started over and it looks soo much better.😃🦋
I’m so glad it was helpful! Thank you so much ☺️ 🥰
You really know how to present material and this has helped me! Thank you so much, may God's Blessings be on you! ☺
Very simple and well explained. Thank you. God Bless.
Such a lovely and easy stitch. Thank you. 🦋🐞🌻
Oh I will have to try this stitch. I have been doing a lot of sc and dc. I am ready for a new stitch to learn. I think I can manage this one.

I know that I am really late since you made this 3 years ago but thanks for making it and helping me learn how to crochet!
You are so welcome!

I love your tutorials, thank you so so much. Just have to add that I also have a black cat (Bette Davis) who loves to inspect my work as I've noticed in your other tutorials x
Looks quite easy, so I will give it a go.
Thank you so much for the clear explanation 👌❤️

Great instructions clear concise and easy to follow. One question, how do I start a new ball of yarn when doing a large project?

Love the look of this stitch. Do you think it would be appropriate for a chunky wool yarn blanket ? Very nice tutorial.
Hi Robin, I would imagine any size yarn to work wonderfully!
When I used this stitch in a blanket it really used a lot of yarn. I used a worsted weight and was amazed at how dense and thick the finished product was. You may not want to use a chunky yarn because your stitches will not be defined and it will use up so much yarn.

Do you have any tips on how to count the rows in this stitch? For some reason I am really struggling with that part!

Just wondering if you could do a tutorial on the Angel Cocoon Set by Annie. I don't know how to read patterns yet and I am having my first grandchild. I really want to make this for her. Please
I made a seed stitch blanket but I’m wondering if it would look better with a border and what sort of border would be best?
Hi can I please ask roughly what size a baby prem blanket should be
I am just learning but it so easy to do . Than you to share idea I will learn to make one
How do you make your single crochet. I'm just curious 😊 thank you
Is this acceptable with any sized hook? Beautiful blanket and awesome tutorial! Thank you!

I hv subscribed ur channel..thnk u so much for sharing ur ideas abt crocheting..
Thank you for this great video 👍🏻😀
Hi there do you have a tutorial on how to decrease this seed stitch? I’m so stumped
I need to try this one!
Lovely, how many chains do you use for baby blanket please? Judith
beautiful stitch thank you for sharing x x x
After you finished the foundation chain, it looks like you went into the FIRST chain from the hook instead of the second like you said. Am I missing something? Beautiful stitch!
Great tutorial. Thank you
Thank you for the video! What yarn did you use for this? Thank you!
lovely stitch and great tutorial even if the vid keeps going out of focus :)
I learned this as the lemon peel stitch. Then there's the griddle stitch and the stitch you're doing. Are they all the same thing?
Superb 👍👍
Thank you so much ☺️
What is the name and color yarn are you using? It is so lovely!!🥰
Why must it end on a DC ? Just curious.
thank you , now I know why my work fans
Hi, Carol Merrick,
My work had a tendency to fan, too. I started using a larger hook to work the foundation chain, then use intended hook for the rest of the project. if you always begin & end row with double, how can each row be opposite of each other? Confusing.
You begin with a double and end on a treble or if using different terminology start on single end on double
I can’t seem to get the holes in the middle of the double crochet, any tips?
Спасибо за понятное видео!
