I love it, what a clever idea too. I've made so many afghans for presents but I never thought of doing it this way with many different kinds of stitches. Genius Darlene!!!!! I did cotton wash clothes with all my favorite patterns. I love it and I will teach my gdtr this idea too. She's just learning and doesn't have the patience for big long projects. Sweet sweet SWEEEEEET!!!! TY
Thank you Darlene. I've came on and added to my list but I'm going back to your 1st 2 vidz as I'm learning lol. When I've mastered single & dble I will catch you up :) Happy crocheting everyone who's following with you :)
I have been waiting for so long to learn how to crochet . I could never understand instructions before! When I saw your single crochet tutorial, I jumped at the opportunity to learn from you. The way that you explain everything makes sense to me. You are a great teacher, so calm and laid back...and FUN! I even checked out more sites as you suggested . I couldn't make sense of any of them, so did lots of homework from your instructions....three dishcloth sizes of single and a mini scarf of double. I have made 42 crumb quilt blocks and am waiting to get enough to white material to do make sashing for it. I love how it turned out. There are at least two other quilt ideas of yours that I want to make. I wanted to let you know that you are appreciated!
I always thought the seed stitch looked too hard. You make it easy! I learned from my grandma at age 7 and she only got as far as double crochet for us younger kids. Slippers were our big deal! Thanks so much!
Thank you so much! Looking forward to learning how to put the squares together for a blanket and pillow:) After that, any chance of us learning how to crochet a nice edge on the bottom of a top. Perhaps for skylar? I have little girls similiar age. It combines sewing and crocheting :D Thank you so much for all your informative videos!
I love the sound of crocheting on clothing like that! I will try to do that after my trip. Or if I think of it, I could even do a project like that with skylar even if just doing it on a dollar tree t-shirt or something.
My mother used to crochet fancy borders around cheap plain flannels (facecloths). It was quite effective and made a dull boring flannel look interesting!
I am going to go get some and yarn and start a block afghan with you. I've never done it before but what is the worst that could happen? I'm warm under an ugly blanket?
Do love!! Lol. I have a tote full of yarn. I can never get past a couple of rows of usually double crochet then the ends never stay flat they start to shrink my rows. Can’t friggin figure out what I do wrong. Maybe I’ll try again or maybe I’ll say fuck it. But I love watching how you do it. By the way, I hold my yarn the same way you do.
