Does ZWIFT Prepare You For HARDEST Tour de France Climbs?

- After nearly one year of cycling on Zwift, I tried a REAL CHALLENGE. One of the scariest Tour de France climbs.

My name is Adam, I am 35 years old and I am a former marathon runner who shifted his focus on ZWIFT CYCLING.
Road to A is a channel focused on INDOOR ZWIFT RACING with the ultimate goal of reaching the A+ CATEGORY. Is it progression realistic? Maybe. I'll need to train a lot and lose a lot of weight, too. However, I believe the BIGGEST LIMITATIONS riders (and athletes in general) have are those they put on themselves and this channel is my way to prove that idea. If you feel like you are riding (or living) BENEATH YOUR POTENTIAL, you need to tag along! The destination is clear but the journey won't be easy.
Currently I am racing in B CATEGORY.
SUBSCRIBE because it makes me happy :) : / @roadtoa
As for my ZWIFT SETUP - I am riding on a ZWIFT HUB ONE indoor trainer. Steering can give you pretty substantial advantage during the racing and for that I am using the ZWIFT PLAY controllers. I use these for virtual shifting as well and to make sure I'll be covered if they run out of battery or generally stopped working, I've got the ZWIFT CLICK as well. I am running my Zwift in 4K and using the ULTRA settings.

Thank you for your support, as always, these are just extra zing on the channel, all the videos will always stay free for everyone!
Did you know how they came up with Cat 4 to Cat 1 climbs? A Citroën 2CV was the benchmark for a climb. For a Cat 4, the 2CV was able to climb using 4th gear, Cat 3 third gear and so on. Hors category was steeper than a 2CV was able to climb!
BTW, it maybe the camera angle, but I reckon you could reduce your handlebar width by 2cm for more 'aero'!! Ot looks like your shoulders are narrower than your current bars.
Is that true? That's actually hilarious if so! I knew the categorization of the climbs was arbitrary but this would be fun explanation!
As for the bars, I think it is the angle, I've got pretty wide shoulders and the bars are 400mm anyway. Not that any aero gains are that important for my speed. :D
@@RoadtoA Absolutely true 💯 !!
@@phil_d awesome!
I don't watch a lot of your video's as they are so long, so good to see a shorter video from you. well done
Ye, the longer videos tend to be more popular according to statistics, so I mainly focus on those. But I am happy that I released something that you can enjoy!
Fantastic, absolutely incredible! Congrats!
@@renatolovato thank you!
Great footage. What a beautiful, epic view.
Thank you, it is by far the most beautiful cycling I've ever done.
you. need to do the LACETS
@@reflectionsdetail stay tuned 😎
Wonderful video. What camera did you use to record and what mount?
Thank you! Insta360 x4 with a bike handlebar clamp.
@@RoadtoA insta360 clamp?
@@jkilarski yep
Great video, great commentary, great effort
Thank you very much!
Do you record sound with the DJI Mic connected to your Insta360 camera?
I don't connect it to the camera, the sound quality is abyssmal. I record it into mic's internal memory and sync it with the footage afterwards.
💪💪👏👏👌👌
😵💫😊
What a lovely route, how did that compare on Strava to Pogacar?
It was about twice as long (80 minutes vs 40) but to be fair I didn't go to my max and occassionally stopped to take pictures etc.
It might have been the only time I was there (though I hope not) so I wanted to enjoy the atmosphere and the surroundings.
@@RoadtoA Woah i can't imagine trying to keep up with the pros, twice as fast 😯
@@scottmccann4509 You and me both, brother. :D
2 days to go
I am so envious! Enjoy mate, you are in for a treat.
No 'Zwift' sprint finish??!!.😅😅😅
