    Hey brother, good job on the video. I have a T-4. BEST investment I've made. I have some health issues, and this tent still makes it doable for me to get out into the mountains of Oregon and able to go camping. A pro that you didn't mention is the removable floor pan. Makes cleaning so much easier. Anyway, just wanted to shout out. First-time watcher, new subscriber. oh, almost forgot to mention. I put a Thule skybox I found on Craigslist on my SVU. The tent fits perfectly in that.

      Same here as far as health issues, osteoarthritis to be precise and tent camping has been my thing all my life. I started with the T3 awhile back but being hunched is painful thus I just got the T4 and still doing it. Absolutely great tents, I’ve been through some serious downpours and kept me dry. I also have the gazebo which comes handy to keep my dogs enclosed since I mostly camp by myself but they’ll be able to brake through if a 2 legged “animal” tries anything. So far 40+ years camping and always been safe, is fun to camp with dogs and they’re good protection, they’re not small dogs.

    Damn, your not kidding about size when packed up. According to their website, it is 67.5" long when collapsed. That's technically longer than my Tundra Crew Max Bed. I do not want to compromise bed space by putting it in diagonally. Shame

  • @3smoke
    @3smoke 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I have a Jeep TJ, I can fit the tent diagonally inside the Jeep and strap it above the passenger seat to the roll bar. But most of the time I strap it to a small rack above my spare tire. It sticks out only a couple inches on each side and hasn't been an issue offroad or the freeway.
    It is so big and roomy I call it "my condo". It really is a game changer.

    • @operationgetlost1798
      @operationgetlost1798  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah I could fit it in the FJ but to save space it’s just easier to strap it on the roof. Strapping it across the back tire carrier sounds like a good fix as well.

  • @CptBongue

    The size packed is one of the things that brought me to buy a Bushnell. You can't get a T4 inside a jeep without bringing down the seats, unless you have a roof rack; that and with COVID you can't get the T4 Plus anywhere

    • @operationgetlost1798
      @operationgetlost1798  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah definitely not fitting in most vehicles. Luckily I have the rack space because I’m not a huge fan of adding a lot of roof weight for off roading purposes. How do you like the Bushnell

      @@operationgetlost1798 I'm going to take it camping in a couple of weeks. • @plmn93
      @plmn93 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@operationgetlost1798 Sorry, I wasn't clear. I meant the packed size, which is about four times larger and three times heavier than other 4 man tents in that price range. Even for car camping that much extra bulk can be hard to deal with. It won't fit in most car or SUV cargo areas if you are also carrying 4 people. I can see the appeal, I just think it's more unwieldy to store and transport than most people are willing to put up with.

  • @hardcorecampinggear
    @hardcorecampinggear 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Nice job on the video! It's a pretty good tent. I'm writing this from inside mine right now. I like being able to stand up in it. That's a huge plus. I didn't find the setup to be that big of a bonus, because it's typically not setting up the tent poles (with most tents) that takes so much time but rather staking and guy lining the tent, getting it aligned with the footprint, attaching the fly and moving all of your junk inside.
    I'm not sure how you can get three people in this? Maybe if everybody is sleeping on the floor? Two seems tight.
    But really, the two big negatives I'm finding personally is the overall pack length. And also it's pretty heavy. Not for a lowland gorilla like you, but for an old pipe-cleaner-armed man like myself.

    • @operationgetlost1798
      @operationgetlost1798  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I appreciate it. My family is enjoying the tent for sure and the 3 of us fit just fine on a air mattress, granted my little one is only 8, so they do not take up much space lol. My biggest negative is definitely the overall pack size. Do you have the T3 or the T4? You said 2 seems tight, I can see that with the T3 but the T4 has plenty of room for the 3 of us. Keep me posted on your continued use pros/cons! Thanks again.

    • @hardcorecampinggear
      @hardcorecampinggear 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@operationgetlost1798 I've got the T4 Overland Edition. For the way you're using it (with an air mattress) I think it's probably the best way. But with two cots ... especially with the Teton XXL Cot or the Cabelas XL cot... you're going to be pretty snug.
      But it's still probably bigger than most four person tents. Definitely more space than my Kelty Grand Mesa 4.
      I'm excited to see what this company comes out with in the future.
