I absolutely love Cruwear. What a great well rounded steel. I have 6 different knives in that steel, and it has really impressed me. Holds an edge well, and also strops back pretty well, while still being a pretty tough steel as well. I even have a fixed blade in it, and it's held up extremely well for me through batoning wood.
I usually go for satin over dlc, but I do have a dlc coated Manix that has held up remarkably well. It does show wear for sure, but it is still intact. No wear deep enough to rub the coating off, and I've had it a good 4 years. Spyderco does a good job with it.
I think Cruwear is my favorite steel to sharpen, it’s also great in use. Thanks for watching
I know I’m late to the party, but thanks for the video! Picked this one up new from DLT yesterday for $163 (sale + a coupon), so your video was a great confirmation. First Spyderco in my collection and purple is my favorite color, so it seemed like it was meant to be.

Do you have any experience with this steel on non diamond stones? Cruwear seems like the perfect steel for the para 3. It would be cool if Spyderco tried linerless g10 on the para 3 lw like on the native chief. Maybe I could make the scales myself to test the idea.
I have sharpened it on my shapton pro 1000 grit whetstone. It seemed to handle it fine, the shaprton pro stones are very hard. Thanks for watching

The Shaman is so incredibly popular that it should be looked at for a mini version and even a left-hand version👍🏻
