- Based on Subscriber Requests, I shot a video of my Spyderco Para 3 Collection. Almost all exclusive and Sprint Runs of the Golden Colorado workhorse.
I started collecting Spyderco Para 3s after getting into the hobby early 2017. I never really paid attention to how many I'd aquired over the last few years. It was fun to do this video and sorry for the length.

Damn! That's a lot of para 3's! Sweet collection dude! I got one just last week(reg production lw black frn cts-bd1n) expecting my second(reg production dark blue g10 s110v). Love spyderco, started with the reg production pm2 crucarta then I got reg production digicamo g10 s45vn...then I did a blade swap. Awesome knives, awesome video ✌️🖖🤘

I'm already liking the lw, action is still a little stiff but I do the compression flick so it's coming along nicely. I've only had it for about a week.

I drool over these collections, I've never bought a Spyderco sprint run or exclusive and I was on the Spyderco groups and found a link for a cutlery shoppe exclusive Para 3 lightweight in CTS-XHP orange FRN and it wasn't sold out! It dropped a day before so I don't know how it wasn't and I just ordered it and I can't believe I'm gonna have a blade that would be in a knife collection of someone like you

@@knifevideochannel4657 saaaame! that's the original K390 blade I wanted because K390 was more rare back then and it would be similar to the pakkawood Police with the exposed steel liners, it's more hefty and durable and yes it is a knife center exclusive

Hey man, good vid on para 3's the knife you said they call the bronco but don't know why, it's because cuttlery shop is in Boise Idaho and that's the home of the Boise state Broncos and their colors are blue and orange. You probably know this by now and I didn't read all comments. Anyway that's why it's called the bronco.

Sweet ass collection there....love the devotion to the hobby. I stuck with the M4 coated series to collect didn’t like Yojimbo & missed the Para3 if u have an extra😉. I sold my M4 uncoated Shaman recently. Damn gave away that trade bait....Anyways thx for showing us the goodz. 👊🏼

I was a little bit surprised, on how wide the price ranges are. I guess if we throw out that S90V Carbon Fiber though. It's not terribly wide, after doing that.

I was also a little surprised, that I didn't see any 20CV blades here. I wonder why M390 was used on the DLT Para 3 knives, and not 20CV, like the Manix?
I'm assuming we'll see 20CV on a DLT Exclusive with Tan G10 , Both Satin and DLC like the PM2. I'm also betting that Rivers Edge has commissioned a Para 3 Coyote Tan 10V Satin /DLC. There's a whole world of LWs that haven't been explored yet.
What surprised me was how many Manix 2s(nothing like your collection ) and PM2s I've Aquired. I only need a Satin M4 Jade to complete the Shaman family, Don't know if I'll pursue that or not.

I've been giving that Satin M4 Shaman some serious thought myself. Every time I check though. They're around $300. The best deal today, is $325 in used condition.

Lovely collection! The PM3 is my favorite knife. I currently have 4 of them (LW REX, Maxamet, and 2 K390's). Have you considered making any of them skinny? I think that the skinny version is super pretty, and I got a Dremel tool to make my life easier, because I didn't have as much luck sanding by hand (the skinny on one of the K390's is a little wonky tbh, so I gotta fix that lol)
The Para 3 is my favorite design from Spyderco! When I first started in the hobby, My focus was on large folders because of my XL-XXL sized hands! I soon realized the comfort and utility of Spydercos smaller knives like the Para 3, Chaparral, Lil Native, And Native 5.
I haven't gone the "skinny " route because the stock P3 (with some sanding to radius the scales ) size fits my hand perfectly under moderate to hard use. Thanks for watching and enjoy your Para 3s Tollman!
How about the Blue & Orange one called the Bronco because that's the colors of Denver's football team. I DGAF about the NFL, but it's kind of a no brainer!
I've got both dual color sided Rex 45 Para 3s from Cutlery Shoppe. The Blue version is called the Bronco after The Boise State Football team, Idaho is where Cutlery Shoppe is located! Thanks for watching

@@knifevideochannel4657 yeah, I just got into collecting knives. I've always had knives but never collected them. I was collecting old revolvers S&W and Colt so I know the feeling of wanting the same thing in multiple colors/finishes. I have a S&W Mod 36 snub, nickel square butt with fake pearly panel grips, then I have the blued one with walnut grips and now I have the 3 inch tapered barrel version blued with walnut panel grips. Now I need a 3 inch nickel. Of course there are heavy straight barrels AND tapered barrel 3 inch and they have the stainless versions as well sooooo yeah. Then there are the 6 shot 38 special versions and the 357 versions lol so I feel ya lol

Blue and Orange are the colors for the Broncos football team out of Colorado, where Spyderco headquarters are and where the Para 3 is made (for those who don't own one).

Supposedly Cutlery Shoppe had exclusive rights to this Blue/orange and Green/orange Para 3s. Still says on their website that both were one and done 600 piece runs! Weird how a vendor would close the door on future sales!!
Cutlery Shoppe is from ID and Boise State is blue and orange and they are the Broncos.

The ergos of the G10 Para 3 have always connected with me, Even though I have XL-XXL sized hands. I started in the hobby buying larger knives like 0804CF and 0909 ZT. Spyderco has refined the art of quality ergos for smaller knives like Para 3, Lil Native, And Chaparral. Hope you enjoy the new knife and thanks for watching.

I have XL-XL Sized hands and can't think of any mod that would make the stock G10 better for me IMO. Maybe a set of Aramis 3D contoured scales in Shread Carbon Fiber?!? 🤔😀

I think I should finally get a pm2 my first spyderco was a delica 4. My only other is a smock in 20cv with micarta and full titanium hardware. I have been on a flipper kick and bought two zt’s and a hinderer eklipse recently.
How do you like the Smock? I have the stock version and really like it . I drilled out the detent ball hole to heavy up the action and keep the blade in even with a gravity flip.
The Para 3 and Paramilitary 2 are great knives for sure. Thanks for watching
Knife Video Channel the smock is nice once the second detent ball is removed. It then acts like a button lock. I love the micarta scales I have from rcbladeworks.com. I got the green and black linen.
I'm amazed how good micarta is on these folders! I have a set of linen micarta scales on a PM2 from Ripps Garage Tech. Smooth in /out of pocket but great texture for holding the knife.
Knife Video Channel I have linen micarta on my zt0393glcf two sets actually I switch it up time to time. I am sending my hinderer eklipse to my guy for a free set of scales since he doesn’t have a jig made for the eklipse yet so it’s a win win for both of us. I also have it on my smock
@@tallica4life81 Micarta is a fantastic material that has so many variations in looks and end texture! I've just recently started getting more canvas and burlap on some of my fixed blades. I might try a set of burlap on a Para 3!

Yes, Got it from Blade Ops on first drop. I really like the Diamond Arc texture of the scales. I put a Ripps Garage Tech milled Titanium on it that helps with pocket ease. Thanks for watching
How do you know when new sprint runs/exclusives are released? I’ve missed out on knives simply for not knowing when they’ll be released. Beautiful collection by the way!!
The best way I've seen is to check in on the Spyderco Forums at least once a day. There's multiple people there that monitor everything Spyderco and start new threads about upcoming exclusives/sprints.

@@LILNIP Hi Joe, Believe it or not, I've been able to get everyone of the Sprint/exclusive Para 3s on initial drop from vendors. The only one I wasn't able to get was the first Gray G10 Cruwear Sprint , I ended up trading for that with a subscriber.
That being said, I'd try to stay away from Ebay and focus on watching Blade Forums exchange, If there's something your specifically looking for. Thanks for watching
I may be late but the orange and blue is likely called bronco because of the Denver Broncos football teams old colors.

I like it too. I put a Casey Lynch Blue anodized clip on it, Don't remember if I had it in the video. I bought Lynch or MXG clips for all of them recently I 🤔

This collection would cost at least 6000euro in Europe prices.. what a shame.. I would so much like to collect the para 3 editions...but prices here are insane. 200-350 per knife

Hey, i see that you def have had alot of pocket time with the para 3 but i have a quick question. Have you ever had the para 3 blade open in your pocket at all? this happened to me recently (right pocket, tip up) not sure how and did not cut myself thankfully but just curious if someone like you who has spent alot of time with this model has experienced this before?
I've read about a few instances of what you describe on the Spyderco Forums. Personally not had this happen with any of the compression lock knives I carry. I've had my Paramilitary 2 open up a couple times after accidentally dropping on the floor, But that's not a rare occurrence.
I wouldn't worry about it if the knife looks to be mechanically sound with a good detent. Nothing is impossible and "freak" things do happen from time to time. Thanks for watching Paul!
Hey nice collection dude!! the only bummer for me is I’m in Canada don’t even have a chance to get these knife shop exclusives cuz pretty much all types of knives are banned from crossing the border smh they’ll seize them

Knife Video Channel the law is so stupid/funny. The thing is we have knife stores here that sell all of these banned from import knives. So I can get most knives from most brands as well as brand specific sprint runs of most knives but the dealer exclusives is where we can’t cuz we can’t import those them as an individual. And as you know dealer exclusives are exclusive to the knife store so our stores wouldn’t have them

I ordered a civivi elementum and a WE banter and the boarder services took them calling them "Centrifugal" yet you can look up canadian knife stores that sell the EXACT SAME knife.......I'm still fighting to get mine back and it's been 9 months. Fuckin bullshit. You should see our firearm laws lol

I started off with MXG and slowly made my way to Lynch! For my XL-XXL Sized hands Lynch "fits" me a tad better on the Para 3. Thanks for watching
Amazing collection! Do you think the LW versions are on par with g10? I want to buy once of these and debating between the very basic g10 s30v, LW in BD1N and LW in Spy27.
The basic g10 version and Spy27 cost around the same where I live. What would you choose for EDC?

I prefer the G10 to the lightweight under every circumstance! The LW is slick in hand and needs some light mods IMO.

Made this video before the Diamond Arc Green G10 Sprint came out. I have that Knife and like the texture, But it is hard on your pants getting in/out of pocket. I hope they do a Manix 2 and Military too. Thanks for watching

@@campervan6668 I Put a Titanium Lynch deep carry clip on mine and don't find it any different then the PM2. You could always lightly sand "down" the texture to your liking!

I do but haven't had a chance to use it yet. I like Cruwear for larger fixed blades
And have never been overly impressed with it (edge retention)on small knives like the Para 3. A Shaman or Manix 2 XL would be a great platform for this color/steel combination.
A lot of the people on Spyderco Forums suck. But, the way Spyderco does Sprints/Exclusives sucks too. Never saw the two different colored handles, they are running out of colors and materials. It’s an impressive collection but I got away from chasing any of them years ago.
The Cutlery Shoppe Exclusives with the different colored scales are growing on me, Especially the Green/Orange version.
I never intended to "collect " different models or start a TH-cam channel, It has been a fun ride though. Thanks for watching

If your talking about the Red G10/Black DLC CPM-4V (@6:40)it was a St Nick's Exclusive (less then 600 made ) and very rare! Again on Ebay for close to $340-$400 usually.

That knife (Gray Cruwear Sprint) was the one out of the entire lot that I didn't have. Took me awhile to get it and patience definitely helped the journey! Good luck Robert

What steel do you recommend for EDC?
As good as all the top steels used in the Sprints and Exclusives are, The regular production Spyderco material works very well for everyday use. I've had great success using their S30V and S110V for EDC. Thanks for watching

Funny thing about my Knife hobby! I started the channel back in April 2019 while recovering from 3 level Cervical Fusion. I was collecting for a couple years earlier without really mentioning to the family how many I was amassing.
Everybody knew I was buying knives as they were getting them as gifts (for Birthdays and Christmas) throughout. But a friend and/or family member found my channel. 😀 My wife knew I was doing something, But not really sure what.
I showed her everything and how I was using the existing Knives to trade/purchase new ones. She also like blades and has a growing Spyderco collection I've been buying for her... mainly based on color combinations! We don't talk cost and I don't really pay attention myself. 🤔😀 Thanks for watching

Blade is way too short. Wouldn't want any mini folder. The military version is right size but this brand costs too much. Minis are worthless. Why collect expensive letter openers

@@knifevideochannel4657 that's one of the biggest reasons I'd never want one. The price isn't worth the product you get. I purchased a police model in early 80s for $50 new and never wanted any of their other models. There are several other brands I prefer more which also cost much less and are my best user friendly edc's. Such as new Recon 1 bowie blade. They are no 1 pick for all tasks. Best ergonomics, best size, best lock, top notch tight build and design build ý IPresionkuMO

Honestly there’s no need for that many of this model. It’s possibly the most overhyped and overrated design.
What's interesting about your comment, Your right if your thinking logically! I started my channel (and knife hobby) recovering from cancer along with cervical fusion. I started having fun buying all sorts of models from countless makers.
I had just as much enjoyment chasing the Sprints/exclusives as using them. It's worked out for me as 90% of the knives increased in value. I've been selling and trading a lot more recently which has also been enjoyable.
As far as the Para 3 being over hyped and/or overrated, You know what they say about opinions. Thanks for watching
