    I'm not sure what's more ridiculous: The way that Dr. Frankestein was able to teach the monster a choreographed musical number, or the fact that everyone in this very classy establishment brought cabbage to throw at the performers

    • @valentinemiller8680
      @valentinemiller8680 3 ปีที่แล้ว +155

      Actually it used to be quite common to bring items to throw in case of an awful performance. It was starting to become less popular, but it still happened during this time frame.
      Humans just like throwing stuff.

    My favorite line of the movie is
    When Igor meets Dr. Frankenstein at the train station and tells him to “walk this way,” the scientist thinks he means “way” as in direction and simply follows him. But Igor stops and says, “Walk THIS way,” prompting Frankenstein to mimic his hunched style of walking. This is easily the most iconic quote from Young Frankenstein, even though it’s a classic joke that predates the movie. According to The Guardian, Aerosmith got the name for their song “Walk This Way” from Young Frankenstein.

      I find it ironic how, in this particular regard, Mel Brooks’ comic portrayal was more faithful to Mary Shelley’s envisioned character than some prior depictions. In the original novel, not only is the creature massive with superhuman strength, but he also has superhuman speed which makes him difficult for Victor Frankenstein to hunt. Near the end, there is even a mention that the creature stole firearms and briefly used them to ward off villagers in the frozen north.
