Hello, The Trip Reporter. We highly appreciate you for choosing to fly with the Heart of the Filipino! We hope that we were able to make you feel our Buong Pusong Alaga on your flight with us! Thank you very much for your support and we hope to see you again on board!
One more comment I have to make after watching your entire video... Thank you for posting that... The Japan airlines, hospitality of the crew and the Nippon airlines hospitality of their crew.. is the best in the world in my opinion... Philippine airlines is okay.. but the Japanese airlines are above and beyond every other airline
Our flight from Bangkok was switched last minute from an A321 to a B777-300ER. We got RP-C7777! A light flight, a lot of empty seats at the rear area to the point where some foreigners were converting each empty row to their own bed. I love how there's a dedicated playlist for Swifties!
Excellent review. Yes, always travel with a power bank! (And for good measure I bring two USB cables. USB-C and USB-A. Never know what kind of snags will develop.)
19:58 yes we would survive a long flight without IFE at all! I flew a PAL B-747 in 1992 . Old and worn and no IFE. It was the flight Manila-Bangkok-Karachi (!!!)-Frankfurt. I survived
Since I booked my reservation on PAL and it included all three flights, Alaska Airlines was able to tag my bag all the way to Cebu when I checked in with them at SEA
Nice thumbnail. Hope you enjoy your flight back to Cebu. l am curious that your 1st time flying Philippine, Boeing 777-300ER in the newer cabin, how many hours did you sleep on the plane, do you remember how much you pay to fly from Seattle to Cebu via San Francisco and Manila and how's passport for entering Philippines?
From what I can see if you end up comparing it to a Japanese JL/NH South Korean KE Singaporean SQ Taiwanese BR/CI and lastly Hong Kongers CX you would actually find out they did it correctly USB charging and alternating current plugs. A Philippine Airlines want to stand up to the premium carriers from the five Asian countries mentioned above they would need to do AC/USB charging in Fiesta Class otherwise pinoys in the west coast of the United States would see that the premium competition of Philippine Airlines from Taiwan South Korea Singapore Japan and Hong Kong end up getting cheaper because of their premium quality service.
Having flown PAL many times the service is not impressive..flown before on a 747 with no in-flight entertainment , APU inop..but hats of to the flight crew, they land the best..
Air France 🇫🇷 is returning to the Philippines on December 08 will start direct nonstop flights between Manila and Paris Charles de Gaulle using the A350-900 , already booked on Premium Economy and can't wait to be greeted by the cabin crew with Bonjour et Bienvenue á Bord plus a complementary champagne 🥂 onboard. AF 209 will depart Manila at 9:50pm and arrive at Paris Charles de Gaulle at 5:50am Central European Time the next day. Bon Voyage.
I always insist on sitting at the last few rows when I do long haul trips with PAL just to have one rowmate to contend with. I also ask for a special meal so I get served first. You could have used the air train in SFO but the bouncy walkway will soon be retired. Oh, you could raise the armrest so you get double the space.
Oh yes, the non-working outlets. No wonder Jason had you move there. That is probably why it was vacant. Also with carry on weighing, I ALWAYS adhere to rules and never had problems. I keep abreast with new rules and requirements so I am never surprised. Since you travel internationally quite a bit, I suggest you get Global Access because it already includes TSA precheck so both domestic and international breeze through.
7:22, What, really? I have the same experience when I flew Jetstar, Boeing 787-8 from Sydney to Honolulu last August, I was seat 32A, some USB ports (including mine) did not work, I ask the crew to tell the ground staff to fix, they did, but I don't think they fix it, it's disappointing, but they have universal power outlet underneath the seats and it work by charging my phone and tablet, which is good.
I fly PAL quite a bit, and the crew are ALWAYS exceptional. But I gotta say, that business class product just doesn't cut it for the price. Two big issues for me. One is the middle seat in Biz; who does that anymore? The second is the biz class cabin only has one toilet, and in my experience, it's invariably occupied by crew members. They should have at least two toilets.
The business class seating has not changed: a horrible 2-3-2 layout without much privacy. I think PAL is still an underperformer compared to Asian carriers flying into Manila from the US (and this includes United Airlines as far superior in their hard product compared to PAL). The economy section has been refurbished, though. Much improved.
PAL sorely needs to get their A350 business class seats onto their 777s. The 777 business seat is sorely outdated vs. our neighbors, and even with United for the SFO/MNL route.
@@jopes1775 Philippine Airlines stated that they won’t be renewing the lease on the 77Ws once it expires, so it’s safe to assume that none of these planes will be fitted with new product. With the delays surrounding the A35Ks and the limited amount of long haul aircraft Philippine Airlines has, is it still logical to retire the 77Ws right away? Cathay Pacific had extended the service of some of their aging 77Ws because of the delays in the 779 program. I think what Philippine Airlines should do is extend the lease of the 77Ws, refit them with new product to COMPLEMENT the arriving A35Ks, and not to entirely replace.
17:23, Why you don't like rice, is it too soft or overcooked? I love eating rice with meat because it taste good and delicious like Mang Inasal, it's the best. 20:05, No. Low cost airline like Scoot from Singapore to Berlin via Athens, it's a long flight and there is no power supply and in flight entertainment, almost nothing is included and yeah nothing to do on a 12 hour flight without headrest. 21:18, Is that your 1st time after landing, the passengers clap? 21:38, What, they don't dim the light for landing?
I heard negative reviews on PAL canceling flights from SFO to MNL My last experience on PAL was not so good. I would avoid PAL and stick to China Airlines, Eva Air, Starlux, Korean Air, or Asiana
Old, outdated aircraft. 2-3-2 business class…..what a joke and embarrassment in today’s aviation market. That worthless charging port that won’t even fully charge your phone after a 13 hour flight. UA, CX runs circles around PR. UA has non stop from SFO and CX has easy connection in HKG. PAL’s flights are always full, so I guess there is no incentive to update and upgrade. Flight attendants are pleasant and have a nice personality……but that’s the only good thing about PAL.
The only Reason I would fly PAL is that They have a monopoly on the domestic market in the Philippines and I want the convenience of not booking two different airlines
Correct and for the UA SFO-MNL flight it always starts in EWR as the 8:15pm EWR-SFO basically making UA189 EWR-MNL via SFO flight. for CX they do have CEB CX921/925 from HKG UO to CRK.
@@EpicThe112the planes can come Newark but doesn’t always. Most likely as repositioning flight. 77x I’ve tracked come out of Japan or China most of the time
Hi idi0t... emirates dubai to seattle has the same configuration of 2-3-2 business class.. before you comment.. it pays to be informed and not to look stupid
You mentioned that PAL's flight is always full. That itself tells everything that people are loving their product regardless its not the best product in todays market.
So outdated seat configuration. 2-3-2 business class is for premium economy only. Nowadays and even years ago, business class in most big airlines is 1-2-1.

it’s the official Philippine airlines channel, hello!!
ayan nanaman si philippine airlines HAHAHAHA mahal ko kayo

I saw their ground crew during check-in where they line ip to announce that check-in is now open..
Spot on! That's why we have always flown on ANA when we visit the PHL. Their hard and soft services are second to none!
First viewer of the video!

Talk about lucky lol
This is the second newest aircraft. The newest one is RP-C7783 and has a 1-2-1 configuration in business and 3-3-3 configuration in economy.
Another great trip report which I really enjoyed watching, I need to visit The Philippines some day. Safe travels 😊
Excellent review. Yes, always travel with a power bank! (And for good measure I bring two USB cables. USB-C and USB-A. Never know what kind of snags will develop.)
Great report. The seats are the same old seats, just that they were re-upholstered. The cabin looks outdated compared to other newer cabins.
Just landed this morning. Much better experience in business class. Never going back to economy. lol

Bro mastered this trip report
Can't wait that we go back home
what is the point of paying for a wifi if you cant get youtube to work😢😢
Their economy class seems to be a competitive product for flights between Asia and the US.
Superb every Airlines should have ife system
How did you check your luggage alway the way to Cebu from SeaTac?
Since I booked my reservation on PAL and it included all three flights, Alaska Airlines was able to tag my bag all the way to Cebu when I checked in with them at SEA
@@TheTripReporter PAL didn't make you recheck at Manila?? (last few times I flew 104/105 to cebu they made everyone recheck in Manila)
Powerbanks are a must haves now. I don't want to rely on the charging ports.
Flying United the next few months from Cebu via Tokyo-Narita to the USA is gonna start after the inauguration flight.

Nice signs😊
I have had some bad experiences with PAL.. but only with domestic flights.... International PAL flights were fine.
I believe the seats have power outlets. You should have brought your power adapter. Just a thought. Have a nice vacation.
Alaska code shares with PAL for baggage? that must be new,....
6:54 the legroom is nice : 33”.
Are you ready to fly with United Flight from USA via Tokyo-Narita to Cebu? It’s gonna start this Late Sunday Night.
I won’t be in the inaugural

I think that is FA Jason Senga!
I Always Took Manila To San Francisco When I Go To The USA 🇺🇸
Due to the new Seattle/manila flights they have cut back Manila/SFO to 4/5 flights a week

I jusg wished they would switch to metal cutleries for economy

AYYYYYY RILEY CITY
I ‘ll fly Paris-Hongkong-Cebu on Cathay Pacific. (610€, B-777, 10 abreast as well) So no more need for NAIA transfer
You should try Japan Airlines to Manila.

14:50 Asahi beer on a PAL flight. Somebody at Marketing should be fired😅
They need to improve more on their food bring back the metal cuttlery put more food on trays
for that you have to fly business class

Mehh I would take UA any day.
PAL still looks sad, old, out dated. No wonder it's #69 in 2024 world ranking for airlines.
Qatar Airways is #1 yet still has many wide body with the same 2-3-2 business class configuration and generally outdated cabins
I find their aircrafts outdated.
NO WAY… & NORTH WORTH PAL’s BUSINESS CLASS HAS STILL THE OLD 2-3-2 CONFIG & BROKEN FIXTURES WHEREAS CHINA AIRLINES & EVA AIR HAVE 1-2-1 IN BUSINESS .

Do you even know what "demure" means or you're just following "trends" blindly?
OLDEST AIRLINE. WORST AT PRESENT. PAL = PLANE ALWAYS LATE.
