From a machinist point of view I would highly recommend taking that pin and the front housing to a machine shop and let them fix the threads and the bore for the bushing because if you put a new pin in a worn out hole it will eat it much faster

I just did my main bushing on my 1959 871 with sos. What a horror it was. Mine was also a heavy duty axle.
No one sells these old tractors because they are in good shape. Seems like you were fooled by a cheap paint job and turns out you bought a endless money pit. The buyer found a sucker.
Brake clean to crc parts clean you want something with high pressure that way get all barf 🤮 up oil then I’d may -be spin it over with a drill see if any oil oozes out.?
What happens is farmers some times need to run it and then forget it's broke tell time to use again and this thing was used to punk wagon last 30 year wife used it to hay the animals
Farmers?!? That tractor hasn't been on a farm for at least 50 years. That tractor is what every city person buys when they move to the country and they know nothing about a tractor.
Love this kind of stuff.. can’t wait to see her running !! Get busy Bill!!
Thank for videoing this. It will help when I do the same thing.

To tighten up that ball and socket joint you just need to grind some metal off the flat part of the cap. It will tighten them up just like new.
Dam I need to pull my rad for governer was hoping not
By this point you've put twice as much as the actual tractor's worth into it.
and then some...
One thing after another 😂
They do make a thread file to fix threads
While you have that apart, do that axle bushing................PLEASE.
and bearings
