- If you don’t have enough time left in your growing season to let your loofah dry on the vine or you just don’t feel like waiting, processing them green is a fairly easy process.
Here’s how I do mine.

Wow! Incredible to learn about them. Thanks for the information
Do you compost the skins and the seeds you don't keep?
I do.
Have you ever managed to collect viable seeds from green luffa? We're in Savannah GA and just got an out of season freeze last night, so had to harvest ours early while they're all still green...I really wanted to save seeds but I'm not sure if any of them were developed enough.
Yes! I recently peeled one that was still mostly green and the seeds did germinate.
If the seeds are solid black, try a germination test.
Fab update Jeremy hope the weather holds out a bit longer for you, Ali 🥶🌦️🇨🇦
Thanks! This week is gonna be really nice.
I put them on the ground and step on them. It’s a lot easier than rolling them with my hands.
Do you think that the slime that they have when we first take the skin off would work like a natural soap?
@@musicalADD_theband some people say I’d does but I’m not sure.
Getting seeds today! Such a helpful video, thank you!!
Awesome, good luck!
Great tips! We did the baking method last year and it didn’t make much of a difference. Will try drying them in the greenhouse first for a bit! Thanks for the tips!
No problem!
Great to hear! If i dont have a green house, would having them sit in a sunnier part of the house work? When do you know they're ready to peel? And hopefully they dont mold
I have some in my basement drying out right now, sun isn’t necessary.
I’m going to do a follow up video very soon and go more in-depth on drying them inside.
Those are helpful tips!
Awesome video 😎👍🏼
