I mainly want games, and need 6 degrees of freedom. I don't have a good enough graphics card for the rift anyways and wont get it for possibly a long time anyways so the oculus quest is a good option for me.
Yeah coming in May 20 (or maybe 30 idk) to June 1 and yeah I agree having 3 degrees of freedom is very weird i can duck and jump and real life but in game nothing happens and feels very fake when I do
Still trying to save up for Oculus Quest. This will be my first true VR system besides the google cardboard I got for free from Straight Talk. (Even though I don't have a phone.)
For those on the fence about buying Go or waiting, I say buy the Go! The worst case is you're going to get at least six months of use out of your Go and then you decide to sell it when the Quest comes out and you'll take a hit for it... But you may find that the Quest doesn't give you all the media experiences you want or because of battery life, you may decide to keep you VR media consumption and travel use for the Oculus Go and use your Oculus Quest for gaming. The names Oculus has given these products imply their intended use and they are quite different.
The GO is a bad introduction to VR. Because it is NOT vr in any way. No 6dof, no hand presents. No walking, nothing except sitting there looking at pretty pictures and fake ass apps.
Just got my Go this weekend and loving it. Fell in love with wireless VR and plan to grab the Quest day one. Thanks for all the awesome videos helping out my purchase!
The oculus quest is really fun to play around with, the only downside besides reduced graphics(not really a big deal), was when playing games with the bow and arrow you really cant get a good natural draw on the bowstring without the cameras losing tracking for a second or two
No kidding. People walk around with $800 phones in their pockets to send nothing but texts on and browse facebook. But ACTUAL VR is too expensive?! Ffs pay it off monthly if it's really that big of deal to the first world with $500 tv's and $1500 surround sound systems to "feel like you're in the action" phhht This is why I hate naysayers to VR with a passion. Not that they have to like it. But their excuses are like that of sophists.
My review after 24 hours of use of the GO: I always wanted to try VR especially for my flight simulation hobby but did not want to pay a fortune for the PC based VR devices. And then I thought I could enjoy some aviation VR videos, documentaries, sports in VR etc so I decided to get the GO after hearing positive reviews about it. Now I have it since yesterday and I tried it for 24 hours but, despite feeling like a quality and fun device, sadly and unfortunately I decided that I will return it for many reasons. Some of the reasons are related to me personally while the others are more technical expectations. First, the smell of the foam on this thing is so heavy to a level that I have a headache now, seriously. It's so tense and made me remove the device so often to breath somewhere else. Second, the central strap on my head was never comfortable, again, it's perhaps related to me personally but it caused some uncomfortable pressure up on my skull. And despite experimenting with the strap length, I could not get the device to sit and hold on my face without causing some pressure here or there or not hold well if the straps are slightly loose... I had to adjust it continuously and could never find the sweet spot. Now technically, for some weird reasons, they did not include an AC adapter with it like we do when we buy a phone. So I used my PC to charge it and it took forever. I am in Canada by the way... Also, the battery goes down pretty fast, at least on my GO. I mainly tried media on it with a couple of free games and I don't think it lasts for 2 hours with videos as I heard it does. Btw all videos were streaming, did not download them. And I might be new to all this but as I got it for media mainly, all the VR videos I saw on TH-cam VR for example, did not have the quality or resolution I thought they could have. But then media that were not VR, like a regular video on TH-cam in HD, looked good. Perhaps we need to pay for services where high res VR is available? In fact I saw few sports videos with a suggested app, same result. National Geographic VR videos looked as if they were average res as well. Anyways, maybe this is the deal we get with the price we pay for the GO technology or the VR tech of today is just like this but sincerely, I think the technology is great and looking forward to see it evolve. As someone who is new to the VR world, my expectations were maybe higher in terms of image quality in the available free media out there but I might think again about a VR device in a couple of years. But hopefully I will be able to try these devices first at a show or something before buying them to see how comfortable they will be on my head... Anyone had a similar experience?
You can remove the top strap entirely if it's causing you issues. I've got 2 Go's and never noticed a smell but I know others have mentioned it so maybe depends on what batch your device is from. Check out some of the more premium video apps as TH-cam quality can vary a lot as its generally uploads from your average Joe on a £200 camera. Gala 360 and Visbit have some great free videos you can watch to see some high quality videos. It's a fun hobby to get into if you fancy creating your own.
How about diopter adjustment? I bought the DJI Googles for my drone and i don’t use it for that reason. Some people in their 50’s, like me, love tech but need help!
It is ridiculous the price increase cost for the extra storage memory. They will probably price the quest accordingly. 64gb $399 128gb $449 If the launch it 256gb $499
Just buy an normal VR system. Tired of people crying about the prices while they have a $500 TV in their living room and walk around with $800 phones they pay off every month. Do the same with a VR system on monthly payments. Geezus.
I'm sure they'll be some games you can sit down for, like on the Rift now. But I would expect more stand up and play type games and don't assume they'll cater for sitting down.
This video has helped me to decide what I want, tomorrow I’ll order the GO because I’m more of a relaxing media person, not into games. Go is for me... Thanks so much..👍
Does the Go have an app where you can watch a movie with someone? I know there is an app where you can watch youtube videos with people but I can't find one where you can watch netflix or local video files with someone.
I had my first VR experience with an HTC Vive last week and liked it so much that I ordered an Oculus go yesterday, which I should receive this Thursday. I understand the graphics are comparable. I didn't much care for the walking part, especially with the wires hanging down and being in the way. I have a small apartment anyway, so it wouldn't really work for me. I also don't own a gaming pc, playstation or galaxy phone, so the Go was the only option for me right now. I think this particular device will be a game changer, along with the Quest, which I might upgrade to in a few months' time. I really can't believe how impressive VR is and want to show it to all my friends and family members. It is in a way a crude version of Star Trek's Holodeck, but I expect it will develop by leaps and bounds in the coming years so I don't want to invest too much in an entry level device, since I don't game anyway.
Perfect video, cleared all my confusion. I'm not bothered by any of the cons Oculus Go has, so I'll be anxiously waiting for it to be delivered. Thanks for the video!
Ordered my Oculus Quest 64gb Vader Bundle for £399 so I am very excited. Of course I have to wait for it to be delivered to my house but you know... I got an Oculus now so why should I complain? Lol
I just learned about Air Light VR (ALVR) where you can stream SteamVR games right to the GO! And the app is free! That means you can can play VR games from Steam with a controller that doesn't require 6DOF (Degrees Of Freedom). I will probably buy the Quest as well, but as Marcus said, I don't think I will trade in my GO either. It is still an awesome. cheap VR headset where you can play fun games, have cool experiences and watch movies/shows and chill with friends ;)
Posted 5 months prior to the release of Quest. There’s already a functional prototype they have shipped to TH-camrs, it works! Add a better battery and sell them already!
Well I'm going to be banging the Oculus Go promo drum until everyone stops making games for it. While the Quest is a stunning price and indeed device I still think the Oculus Go has more than enough going for it to keep people buying it, esspecialy those new to VR.
You cant even use touch controllers with the Go....i thought my Oculus sucked ass UNTIL i got the Oculus Touch controllers, the make the VR experience.
I’m still a noob in this whole VR franchise. Will the quest have the ability to connect to my iPhone? Basically can I stream vids from my phone to my Quest? If not how can I watch VR vids on the quest? Is there a built in system? No one on TH-cam has a vid like this. They need to make a vid that explains this specific point to beginners. 👍
What would be the BEST device for someone that doesn't want to have to do a whole of moving, but would rather LAY DOWN and chill. And MAINLY for watching the NBA games in VR??? Anyone have answers please reply.
I am new to it. To make my question simple....are you able to do everything on the rift (or quest) that you can on the GO and then more? Or are there things like apps that you can get or do on the GO that you can’t on the Rift? I looked in the App Store and it looks like there are apps that are only on Go that don’t come up for the rift. Is this correct?
Correct, there are hundreds of apps which are only on the Oculus Go (or GearVR). The same there are loads on the Rift which are not on the Go. And the Quest will have its own store and lots will be exclusive there as well.
Great. So I am not a heavy gamer. I want it more for entertainment apps, media and video consumption. For me I think you would say the GO is the correct option even over waiting for the Quest then, right? I wanted to wait for the Quest, since it will be the newest and thought I would get even more bang for my buck. But I think I actually would be better off just getting myself the GO. Thank you very much. Great, informative videos by the way. I have been watching all over your videos covering the Oculus series.
Yeah if you're mainly into media then the Go should be fine. Quest will likely have a lot of the same apps and experiences on it but the push there will be for more games. Depends if you want to pay twice as much for the added gaming on the Quest.
I just purchased to go. Is it just me or are 360 games/videos a bit more blurry. I even find 180 VR to often be just a bit too blurry to be totally immersive. Its still pretty cool but I hope they can resolve this issue soon
Depends on what app you're viewing them in. TH-cam isn't great for 3D 360 and 180. Try downloading VeeR.tv app and look through some of the content on there.
Thanks ramarcus I know I’m late but please can you do more videos on the oculus go.I really enjoy your content and keep it up as your my favourite TH-camr
i took the GO back because the resolution was i'de say, 20% less than what i got use to with the Galaxy 9+ as well as getting use to so much storage. them 2 strikes are rather big strikes since the Galaxy's are so good. with only an inconvience of having to add the phone to the VR set, the quality display and storage capacity in the long run, wins until them things are improved. the Quest running 1600/1440 will be alot closer to what im used to. so i think i'll get the Quest and stick to it when it does finally come out. for what i've seen on the Galaxy 9, it seems to top out at about 1900 per eye. which is just a awesome, amazingly great display. standalones in other words are kinda really competing with the high end Galaxy phones. which is big competition. good. that means they will make standalones better and better til they pass by the Galaxies. neat stuff either way. VR is i gotta say...badass!! :)
@@RaMarcus - $900 vs 200 ...yes. very sadly true lmao. great point. o0..that could mean to hit them goals with a standalone, it might hit near the grand mark when it does. crap.. lol :)))
Yeah, but it'll come and as more people get into VR the tech can attract a higher price. For now we just need as many people using it as possible and price is key for mass adoption.
What are you watching, if it was recorded in a low resolution it'll always look terrible. Have you tried the Henry app to just see if it's the video quality you're not liking or the actual headset?
Nope, the Oculus Go has store access inside the headset and you directly download them, sort of like a phone. I assume it'll be the same for the Quest.
i want the quest since alot of good games like job simulator, sapce pirate, and beat saber all need the 6 degrees of freedom. i also love the rift so getting that in a standalone would be amazing
is the go a good choice? my sister has a htc vive that I can use when i go over her house, and the go is in my budget. i would like a quest more but its too expensive. i dont need a full gaming vr but a fun one that some games. i hope it will be fun!
Im sure I read about this but not sure if I dreamt it or what, but it was about the cameras on the quest are recommended to not be in direct sunlight because it damages them
I guess you wouldn't put any cameras in direct sunlight. But I know for you don't put the lenses/screen in direct sunlight, they magnify the sun and burn the screen!
Good presentation. I’ve ordered the go and will get it tomorrow. Just heard about the quest today and not disappointed about getting the oculus go. Looks like I too will keep the go. Not really that interested in vr gaming so I’ll have to wait and see what the quest offers above the go.
Just remember the Quest will be more gaming focused than media, so the games will require you to be more involved and most require you to stand up and play. I can't wait to give it a go. 👍
oculus go and oculus quest is there a difference in visual appearance? I tried the oculus go, there was still black on the right and left, did the Oculus quest look more full of the screen without black on the right and left? tq
The Oculus Go is the first VR headset I’ve ever tried and I’ve been playing with it a lot for the last few days. Honestly I’m going to return it within the next month most likely and wait a few months later even though it’s more expensive. I just can’t get past the non-hd looking apps and games. I’ve tried like 5 different 360 apps and none of them are that impressive but I understand it’s an “entry level” VR headset I was just expecting more from someone who has never used a VR headset. I read that the quest will have higher resolution and better graphics so I am excited for that and more/better quality games!
It'll have slightly higher resolution and be able to handle higher resolution media as well. The quality of media on the Go varies a lot, the best looking media I've seen is the stuff I've created myself with my Insta360 Pro 2 camera. 😉
RaMarcus if you have some cool footage somewhere available I can find on the GO I’d definitely be open to checking out, the Vizbit app is the highest quality and coolest videos I have found from all the apps so far
A lot of it comes down to file size, good quality 360 footage is massive and the infrastructure just isn't there for the most part to deliver it. 8k 360 on TH-cam looks great but the Go can't play it, downscaled to 4k is still looks good. All my own content is work related to loaded directly onto headsets. I to get frustrated by the quality of some video but that's not really much better on the Rift or Vive for video.
Have you downloaded the Henry app? It uses a special display/rendering process to give you a higher resolution where you're looking and lower behind you, enabling a much clearer image. It's a great example of how good it can look.
My kids have glasses and neither have any issues. It comes with a glasses spacer which helps move the lenses away from from your head a bit. The default face padding is soft so you should be fine. 👍
I have one question. Is there any app or game to oculus GO that is free flying experience? Not video but more like google earth based experience where you can just go and fly wherever you want. Or computer generated landscapes, just flying. I am struggling between go and quest now. And i don`t know still what to choose. And there is not much time left to cyber Monday, yes? ;) oh, i forgot to say that now i have note9 and gear vr headset and it is not so good because of dizziness from screen (glack ghosts when you turn your head from dark to light area). And of course no free flying games :(
Definitely both. I just purchased a Go and while it's amazing, it can only hold a fraction of my Oculus library. Hence, my Gear VR will still be getting some use as well to access all my other purchases that aren't on my Go. Quest, will be on a different level and likely will not be able to amass as large a library. Not to mention, functionality and form factor differences, all will have a place for my usage.
I brought the go already and when the oculus quest comes out, I’m gonna buy that too. When I do get the oculus quest I’m gonna give the go to my mum cause she likes VR things so meh Mainly because I live a little far away from her and it’ll be nice to be in a oculus room or something and talk and just chill
Yeah that’s the way I thought, got my Oculus Go last week, but thinking by the end of the year or maybe early next year once all the bugs have been ironed out and the prices have come down a bit I’ll get the Quest. I’ve just replaced my PSVR with the Go and it’s been a revelation to me. I hadn’t used my PS4 for about 4 months, it took effort to switch it all on, trail the wires out, and I had to go sit in our spare room to do it. With the Go it’s literally on your head and running in seconds and does so much more, looks clearer, and was cheaper ! I won’t get a Rift because it needs a decent pc (I don’t own a pc, I do have an old 2012 Mac, but that won’t run anything these days, or if it does it’s very slow), and to use the Rift you have to set it all up, trail wires etc, I just don’t like that and it would just sit there not being used. The Quest sounds awesome and I will definitely end up with one, but like you I will probably keep my Go. I’m local to you mate in Gloucester, nice to see Robinswood Hill in one of your videos. I live in the shadow of the hill pretty much. Keep up the good work :).
Nice to hear from a local. For the money the Go is a great value device. As always, if you pay more you'll get more. But if you don't need more then you don't need to pay it. Great time to be into VR. 👍
Holding out for the quest and plan to buy it the moment its available. I have money set aside specifically for it. This is what I've been waiting years for and always thought Santa Cruz would never come to consumers. I wish I could speed up time or hibernate...
Hi, thanks for your videos..we are planning to enter VR gaming & vr experience business.. please suggest us the suitable games and best experience for Oculus go
I'll get the Quest as well, VR Desktop on the Go makes it worth the money alone so it's worth having both or all 3. Mind you I would be more happy if they would bring out a go like face attachment for the Rift, I have the VR cover one but I find it to rigid and it doesn't solve the glasses problem plus its nowhere near a comfy as the go interface, I can fall asleep with that on, no way I can do they with the rift.
In what way? PC VR games or just playing normal PC games? Virtual Desktop allows you to connect to your PC and control it from the Go, even remotely. Very useful.
well the Go can do dk1 type of vr demo and the Quest can give u a real vr experience so buy the go and sell it or keep it in 6 months and than when the quest is out in the spring buy it ...if u want to
Personally I use my SSD to store my Media files and access it via a portable dlna enabled battery powered travel router. Having 512 gigs is very useful for Media.
Good video and I m considering getting go use my use media consummation and might help me make animation to but do you think they will release another go next year along with the quest similar to how new phone comes out each year?
From what they've said at the event, OC5, this is the first generation of all of the headsets done. All apps for Go now will work on Go 2 whenever it's released. I wouldnt expect it until late 2019 at earliest, likely be 2020.
Hey! Good video once again. I would love to get more insight though on the exact specs difference between the SD821 and the SD835. Just how much more powerfull is the new processor? Cheers!
When your go switched on when you put the strap in, the first thing I did was turn around to see what had turned mine on before realising it was yours :D
Great vid! Not wanting to lower the tone, but VR porn on the Oculus Go is a game changer in itself. For games, my faves so far are Eve Gunjack (stunning visuals and slick controls), Thumper, Dead & Buried, Cuist (pool) and the very simple but fun VR Duck Hunting. I’ll buy the Quest next year for sure, but also will be keeping my Go, it’s a beautifully well made & handy device and is incredible value for money.
Suggestion for those looking to be convinced by VR. Go find a VR amusement park. They are uncommon now but exist. I also imagine with the Oculus Quest coming they may crop up more next year due to the low cost and minimum set up.
I wouldn't bank on it as you still have to have the battery on your face and its more powerful. It'll be interesting to see what sort of battery life it has.
If you're happy with wires then the PSVR is a great option, some great games coming out for it. The Quest will be a similar experience just without wires, cost more overall if you already have a PS4. Why not both? 😁
Personally I think I would wait for the Quest. Its hard to say which is better overall until its released but the freedom of no wires is a massive plus.
It won't have sd card support but you will be able to use USB sticks with an sd card in if you like. A firmware update came through yesterday but it does work so maybe needs something on Oculus' end to enable it.
Anybody who has a Go right now, how bad is the screen door effect/resolution/pixelation when watching videos in apps like Bigscreen or Netflix? I'm just wondering about quality of experience for these activities... Thanks!
It's got one of the highest resolutions out right now and I hardly notice the pixels when using it. You'll have to be looking. You're going to get it with all headsets. For media it's absolutely fine.
Thanks dude, will probably still wait out for the Quest, but I just wanted to know what it was like on the Go to gauge the experience. Keep up the good videos!
I'm going to hang onto my Go, as it is more portable. But that doesn't mean I won't get a Quest also. Six months can be a long time in VR, and something unexpected may turn up, so I won't be committing to anything just yet.
I have an intensive crave to play some VR since I've tried it at some arcades, so I'm getting the Go now, and I'll save up some money, and sell my Go and buy the Quest later.
I just wanted to say Thank you for all the great content. This piece was very informative and I will be showing it to people at the Ranch. Do you have a link to the protector for the oculus go? 10:20
Quest it is gonna be standalone, so no wires, tracking box things and no PC. They said it would be providing rift like ecperiences. But where is the computing power for that? You need Space for the screens, space for the cameras so where do they put the graphics card, cpu, ram etc? Or maybe i haven't realised how much more powerful and smaller the parts have become.
The experiences will be near Rift like but scaled back/ported to a more mobile process CPU friendly settings. I've spoken with people who went to OC5 and they thought the games looked great. Stay possitive.
I got the GO just a week before the quest was announced. I could still technically return it for my money back, BUT I def can't wait that long for the quest after using my GO. Will def get the quest tho.
Woooo! I've been pushing this product with my friends, because of my 1500 friends on fb only 10 of then have some sort of VR device that is linkable. And NONE of them use it. It's cool alone, and or meeting new people, but hopefully alot of people get this for the holidays and there will be a larger community and or more demand for content.
The snapdragon 835 has the Adreno 540 GPU and 845 has 630 which is 30% faster and 30% more power efficient with a focus on VR. I understand they need to keep cost down but it would be nice to have the 845 somehow
Yeah, check out ALVR, you can connect a OculusGo to Steam VR. Imagine if that works with Quest, perfect. Although it would be nice if it was a standard feature.
I'm just confused they didn't mention it at OC5.But let's get real, that would render the Rift entirely useless.I already talked about this on Reddit but there are 2 Options.Either it won't happen (officially) or the Rift will get an extreme final Price Drop to still give people a reason to buy Rift instead of Quest
John Carmack did confirn on Twitter they are looking into an ALVR type system but no promises. It's a game changer if they go down that route, works great on the Go and the with the two controllers on the Quest it's near perfect. Fingers crossed.
and now months later. we know which one to wait for :D seriously I can't wait any longer! my withdrawal is increasing. I must hibernate more for time to go by!
First week done. bing watching some of your older vids to pass time. but gotta say i do enjoy them. I do not own a GO myself. I was going to but 7 months ago oculus quest got announced so i decided to wait for it. I now have enough money for it! :D
Great to hear you enjoy the channel. The Quest is so close we can almost taste it, hang in there just a little longer. I'll try to cover it much the same as I have the Go. 😉👍
i think the 80% games 20% media is a foreshadowing that oculus spent all the money on games and the quest might not have the media apps the go has at launch. where is your go sticker? did you remove it or do you have a second go?
i use my go everyday because it is a vr tablet. even when i only had a psvr i use my tablet way more. i am buying a quest for my home but i don't think i'll use it aside from new releases. i am going to let the kids have the quest and i'll borrow it when necessary which is nothing against the quest but i already have 2 hmds.
Very clear video, and very clear comment by rmzz76, I just want to immerse myself in something like Nature treks VR, where you just be in a meditative state looking around and feeling like being somewhere else, like in space and look around, for that the oculus Go sounds perfect. also i think the 32GB is ok for me as i might just switch apps, but i can afford the 64bit so might as well get that one, and later on i might also be interested in more gaming, and i think that is when the oculus quest comes in play. thanks for the video!
I got the Rift when it came out and wanted to buy the Go but was waiting for oc5 and hands-on impressions on the Santa Cruz /Quest. Will definitely buy the Quest for 6dof and freedom. However, I still consider the GO as a great device if you are travelling a lot or want a VR Multimedia HMD that can be used without the need of having a PC around
When the oculus quest is compatible with the X1X and i can use the Xbox app to stream from the console to the quest and play skyrim on the X1X using the quest with an xbox controller... Make a video about it... Until then any info about vr is useless to me
@@RaMarcus My 50"TV broke so i figured i'd buy a psvr headset only not the ps4 system... So i can just play skyrim in theater mode... But all the videos i saw were ppl who had both systems running to do it but in the comments ppl say u can play X1X games using only a psvr for theater mode... If you own a xbox 1 x and a psvr headset can u as a favor for me test this to see if this works?... All i care about is using it as a huge tv screen nothing else
I don't have a PSVR so can't test I'm afraid. With the Go you can connect it wireless as a PC monitor and if you stream your Xbox to a PC you can play and control it, even remotely.
@@RaMarcus i own a physical copy of skyrim Se on X1X but i dont own Skyrim digitally on my laptop so i cant play skyrim unless i buy another tv which i dont want to do or i rebuy a digital version of skyrim to play on my laptop which i also dont want to do... i already own it... So i figured buy a psvr or oculus go/quest but no one seems to know if the oculus can work with an X1X solely as a huge tv monitor
I wouldn't know. But you can use the Xbox app on a PC to stream it to a PC. And then the Virtual Desktop app on the Go to see it in a massive screen, a cinema or in space. Could you buy a PSVR or a Go, test it and if you don't like it return it?

John-Luke Pollock thanks!
John-Luke Pollock thank you
Thank you I was halfway then I looked
I mainly want games, and need 6 degrees of freedom. I don't have a good enough graphics card for the rift anyways and wont get it for possibly a long time anyways so the oculus quest is a good option for me.
Perfect. 😉👍
Yeah coming in May 20 (or maybe 30 idk) to June 1 and yeah I agree having 3 degrees of freedom is very weird i can duck and jump and real life but in game nothing happens and feels very fake when I do
I have a Rift and I got used to it quickly, it does make life easier when you just want to relax with VR rather than play games and jump about.
@@Picksol I find 3dof to be nauseating as well due to movement irl not matching movement in-game

Nice, it should be a great headset and a lot of fun to use. I can't wait. 😁
Why don’t you have a phone?
@tripple bleach or a tablet
Same but a Go
Will just wait for the Quest. Having ‘Super Hot’ on the go is amazing.
Super hot does live up to its name. 🔥
What is super hot? I just got my go..

Great video!! Just ordered a Go, and when the Quest comes out my kids can use my Go.
Keep the Go for yourself for 6 months first though, get lots of use out of it. 😉
I don’t think you can use steam with them so neither still using the old original version it’s all about content

Great to hear. Have fun. 😉👍
What is the difference between go and quest? I still don't know the differences
Ayyy nice
Question...can you play pavlov on Oculus Go
Nope.
The oculus quest is really fun to play around with, the only downside besides reduced graphics(not really a big deal), was when playing games with the bow and arrow you really cant get a good natural draw on the bowstring without the cameras losing tracking for a second or two
True but there is meant to be an incoming fix to help with that type of tracking. It's already out on Rift S and feedback seems good.
I'm still hoping the Quest will have Minecraft like the GearVR
Fingers crossed 🤞
It got Minecraft
@@levicarey6864 really?
that's $20 a week if you start saving now....doable
Man with a plan, I like it. 😉👍
No kidding. People walk around with $800 phones in their pockets to send nothing but texts on and browse facebook.
But ACTUAL VR is too expensive?! Ffs pay it off monthly if it's really that big of deal to the first world with $500 tv's and $1500 surround sound systems to "feel like you're in the action" phhht
This is why I hate naysayers to VR with a passion. Not that they have to like it. But their excuses are like that of sophists.
Good point
Anon Mason you can flex anytime on public by flashing out your $800 samsung phone but you cant with this
@@Bos_Meong weird flex but okay
I couldn't even wait two weeks. I bought a second hand Go. So glad I did! I can't believe I've been missing out on this gem!
That's cool, it's a great value VR headset for sure. 😁👍
Go no, Quest yes. 👍
I got the Go mainly for media, but fell in love with the games too. Maybe I'll get a quest when it comes out.
Yeah why not enjoy the best of both worlds. 😉👍
It is ridiculous the price increase cost for the extra storage memory. They will probably price the quest accordingly.
64gb $399
128gb $449
If the launch it 256gb $499
Maybe, prefer 499 for 512GB if possible. 😁
RaMarcus, they won’t launch a 512gb version. They’re following apple and will just launch two memory bands.
Yeah likely but a guy can hope. 😁
Just buy an normal VR system.
Tired of people crying about the prices while they have a $500 TV in their living room and walk around with $800 phones they pay off every month.
Do the same with a VR system on monthly payments. Geezus.
Anon Mason - I don’t do instalments, i have a few VR systems. I would have preferred if oculus add additional memory storage slot.
Do you think you'll be able to play the Quest sat down like the Go?
I'm sure they'll be some games you can sit down for, like on the Rift now. But I would expect more stand up and play type games and don't assume they'll cater for sitting down.
This video has helped me to decide what I want, tomorrow I’ll order the GO because I’m more of a relaxing media person, not into games. Go is for me... Thanks so much..👍
Glad I could help. The Go is a great device for the money. 👍
Does the Go have an app where you can watch a movie with someone? I know there is an app where you can watch youtube videos with people but I can't find one where you can watch netflix or local video files with someone.
You can use Big Screen to stream from a PC to a room and you can have friends join you in there.
The Go sounds perfect for you. Its a great value device and it gets wows from all my friends any family when they try it out. 👍
Perfect video, cleared all my confusion. I'm not bothered by any of the cons Oculus Go has, so I'll be anxiously waiting for it to be delivered.
Thanks for the video!
Great to hear, you'll have a lot of fun with thr Go before the Quest comes out I'm sure. 😉👍
@@RaMarcus Oh I take your word for it for sure. Thanks.
I need that thing you printed. Do they sell it anywhere?
Here's a vidoe with all the details in the description th-cam.com/video/CvZvCO0AFwk/w-d-xo.html
Ordered my Oculus Quest 64gb Vader Bundle for £399 so I am very excited. Of course I have to wait for it to be delivered to my house but you know...
I got an Oculus now so why should I complain? Lol
which one best for watching virtual "you know what" video ?
Go, can be used easily in the dark and only has one controller to keep one hand free. 👍
😎👍
Posted 5 months prior to the release of Quest.
There’s already a functional prototype they have shipped to TH-camrs, it works! Add a better battery and sell them already!
What are you referring to?
Well I'm going to be banging the Oculus Go promo drum until everyone stops making games for it. While the Quest is a stunning price and indeed device I still think the Oculus Go has more than enough going for it to keep people buying it, esspecialy those new to VR.
Yeah, Iove my Go and will do the same. There's enough VR in my heart for both. 😉
The Quest isn't out yet and no one has their hands on one long enough to answer these questions yet. It'll come. 😉
RaMarcus oh ok did the previous Oculus devices have that ability?
Yes, the Oculus Go can access your camera roll and view the media there.
RaMarcus oh ok thank you so much❤️
What would be the BEST device for someone that doesn't want to have to do a whole of moving, but would rather LAY DOWN and chill. And MAINLY for watching the NBA games in VR??? Anyone have answers please reply.
Oculus Go for sure, half the price so you're not paying to move around. 👍
You should try cleaning the lenses
*But will there be VRChat on quest?*
Not confirmed but I imagine it will be.
The Oculus quest us going to use the Oculus games thing, and VRChat was recently added to the Oculus games app thing, so yes it should be available.
Confirmed now
Anyone know where to buy that lens insert thing at10:20 ? I can't find it on amazon. Or what's the name of it?
It's 3D printed, here's a video about it and links to get one in the description th-cam.com/video/CvZvCO0AFwk/w-d-xo.html
Thanks ramarcus I know I’m late but please can you do more videos on the oculus go.I really enjoy your content and keep it up as your my favourite TH-camr
Thanks mate, more to come. 😉
:D
what place lets you trade in vr headsets towards new ones?
Depends where you are in the world. Or simply sell it to put the money towards a different one.
i took the GO back because the resolution was i'de say, 20% less than what i got use to with the Galaxy 9+ as well as getting use to so much storage. them 2 strikes are rather big strikes since the Galaxy's are so good. with only an inconvience of having to add the phone to the VR set, the quality display and storage capacity in the long run, wins until them things are improved. the Quest running 1600/1440 will be alot closer to what im used to. so i think i'll get the Quest and stick to it when it does finally come out. for what i've seen on the Galaxy 9, it seems to top out at about 1900 per eye. which is just a awesome, amazingly great display. standalones in other words are kinda really competing with the high end Galaxy phones. which is big competition. good. that means they will make standalones better and better til they pass by the Galaxies. neat stuff either way. VR is i gotta say...badass!! :)
I bet your Galaxy S9+ wasn't $200? 😉 But I get what you're saying, as long as you're enjoying VR it doesn't matter what platform you use. 👍
For now we just need as many people using it as possible and price is key for mass adoption.
is it coming out in February or later? , i might get the go for Christmas but not sure wether to save.
Later, I would expect it late April, maybe May.
@@RaMarcus thanks! , great to have people from the UK in the scene!, your content is great!
Thanks pal, for Queen and Country. 👑👍
My big issue with Go is the video resolution for videos...........ughhhhhhhhhhh!! Any suggestions anyone to improve quality in Go headsets?
What are you watching, if it was recorded in a low resolution it'll always look terrible. Have you tried the Henry app to just see if it's the video quality you're not liking or the actual headset?
Good review. Does one require a pc to down these games to the Ogo? What about the Quest ?
Nope, the Oculus Go has store access inside the headset and you directly download them, sort of like a phone. I assume it'll be the same for the Quest.
Slick! Thank you sir for the speedy reply!! God bless.
Is it possible to play one content in multiple Oculus go headset at the same time like movie theatre experience ?
i want the quest since alot of good games like job simulator, sapce pirate, and beat saber all need the 6 degrees of freedom. i also love the rift so getting that in a standalone would be amazing
It's going to be a fun device for sure, can't wait to get my hands on one. 👐
will the Quest be able to run big screen with it.? I like media and gaming
The Big Screen developers were at OC5 and confirmed it was coming to Quest.
Awesome Thanks RaMarcus. I will have both. I have the go, will get the Quest.
Good man, should be great. 👌
is the go a good choice? my sister has a htc vive that I can use when i go over her house, and the go is in my budget. i would like a quest more but its too expensive. i dont need a full gaming vr but a fun one that some games. i hope it will be fun!
Yeah :/ but means it's probably not good to use outside
Just keep it on your face and it'll be fine. 😉👍
which one is best for live virtual video :)
If it's purely video then the Go, lighter and nicer screen. 👍
5:08 the Go has 2560x1440p, (a mistaken typo)
/\
not 2660 XD
Good spot. 😉 I said the right thing but forgot by the time I got to the edit. Doh.
Good presentation. I’ve ordered the go and will get it tomorrow. Just heard about the quest today and not disappointed about getting the oculus go. Looks like I too will keep the go. Not really that interested in vr gaming so I’ll have to wait and see what the quest offers above the go.
Sounds like a sensible plan. You'll have a lot of fun with the Go until we learn more about the Quest. 😉
Quest ftw.
😎👍
Great comparisons, but could you tell me what are the POV for each?
Thanks, they both have a 110° field of view.
Will the Quest have all the media capabilities of the Go (Netflix, TH-cam, etc)?
Yeah, it would be safe to assume so.
@@RaMarcus Ok thanks! Was just wondering because I just returned my Oculus Go since the Quest will be coming out soon.
Just remember the Quest will be more gaming focused than media, so the games will require you to be more involved and most require you to stand up and play. I can't wait to give it a go. 👍
@@RaMarcus I see. Do you know how much games for the Quest will cost roughly?
Not yet. I woukd guess half way between Go and Rift, so about 15 bucks.
oculus go and oculus quest is there a difference in visual appearance? I tried the oculus go, there was still black on the right and left, did the Oculus quest look more full of the screen without black on the right and left? tq
It's about the same field of view.
Can you share a link for the 3dprint file for the lens cap please?
RaMarcus thank you yeah I’ll try to search for 8K 360 I found that the actual virtual footage like animated is more clear then camera footage lol
Have you downloaded the Henry app? It uses a special display/rendering process to give you a higher resolution where you're looking and lower behind you, enabling a much clearer image. It's a great example of how good it can look.
Do you think the Oculus Quest will have free content same as the Oculus go has.?
Unknown. I imagine there might be some free apps but expect less small games and more bigger titles that are ported from the Rift.
Thanks
Iwant it really bad but I'm affraid it won't fit on my head because I wear eyeglasses. The only vr headset that are works with glasses are psvr
And there is not much time left to cyber Monday, yes? ;)
oh, i forgot to say that now i have note9 and gear vr headset and it is not so good because of dizziness from screen (glack ghosts when you turn your head from dark to light area). And of course no free flying games :(
Can u watch movies on the Oculus quest
Sure
Love the video i own a go and i will buy a quest when it comes out. The go was my introduction to VR and I am definitely ready for an upgrade.
Yeah it's nice to have an upgrade path if you fancy/can afford it. 👍
Lots of headsets for lots of different situations, it's nice that we're getting options and VR is finally taking off. 👍
@@RaMarcus Very exciting time indeed!
Thanks...your videos gave me a good ideia of what expect from each. I’m looking for more media use but I really like good graphics quality.
Plenty more videos to come, glad to help. 😉👍
Just got a PSVR, so I can wait for a Quest. Loving VR!
Nice, it is a lot of fun! 👍
RaMarcus it’s so much fun
What are storage capacity and how long is the batteries going to last that’s what I want to know first, before I’ll buy?
64GB standard veriso but TBC still on if they'll be a bigger one and how big the battery is and will last.
I brought the go already and when the oculus quest comes out, I’m gonna buy that too. When I do get the oculus quest I’m gonna give the go to my mum cause she likes VR things so meh
Mainly because I live a little far away from her and it’ll be nice to be in a oculus room or something and talk and just chill
That a nice thing to do. 👍
You and me both mate. 👍
Hi, thanks for your videos..we are planning to enter VR gaming & vr experience business.. please suggest us the suitable games and best experience for Oculus go
Thanks. Depends on your headset of choice and budget as it can be expensive to licence games for commercial purposes.
Can some using a Quest watch something on Bigscreen with someone using a Go?
I'll get the Quest as well, VR Desktop on the Go makes it worth the money alone so it's worth having both or all 3. Mind you I would be more happy if they would bring out a go like face attachment for the Rift, I have the VR cover one but I find it to rigid and it doesn't solve the glasses problem plus its nowhere near a comfy as the go interface, I can fall asleep with that on, no way I can do they with the rift.
Yeah the rifts default cover is a poor bit of foam, now comfortable at all. I'm hoping we'll see more options as time goes on. 🤞
How can I get my hands on one of these cool lens protector in the UK?
I got it 3D printed online and delivered. Here's a video about it th-cam.com/video/CvZvCO0AFwk/w-d-xo.html
whats the best option for PC games?
In what way? PC VR games or just playing normal PC games? Virtual Desktop allows you to connect to your PC and control it from the Go, even remotely. Very useful.
well the Go can do dk1 type of vr demo
and the Quest can give u a real vr experience
so buy the go and sell it or keep it in 6 months and than when the quest is out in the spring buy it ...if u want to
Sound like a sensible plan. 😉
Question: could i use an SSD attached to Oculus go/Quest without problems on SSD itself? I ask because HDD Cant be moved when operating
I don't believe so as it'll draw too much power. They said at OC5 that go will just be USB sticks and when the power is low they might not work. .
Personally I use my SSD to store my Media files and access it via a portable dlna enabled battery powered travel router. Having 512 gigs is very useful for Media.
That's a good idea, the Go has plenty of apps able to make use of DNLA.
Just bought a Quest, upgrading from gear vr so expecting a good experience when it arrives.
Cheers!
27% faster while consuming 40% less power. Plus 4 cores instead of 2.
When your go switched on when you put the strap in, the first thing I did was turn around to see what had turned mine on before realising it was yours :D
only 64GB? Arn't the games as big as xbox games, possibly even bigger? How does it all fit?
They won't be that big, although that's the base model so expect one with more storage as well.
We have so many great options now. This is definitely an exciting time in virtual reality! Keep up the great content.
Thanks Gambino and I agree, exciting times ahead.
Thanks and agree with all of your suggestions 😉😉
Hey does the oculus have search history
In the browser, not in the traditional sense, it tries to guess what you're typing on what you've searched for. There is private browsing. 😉😉
This is why we don't have nice things and why VR sucks people using it for porn have no life.....
found the prude ^^^
Suggestion for those looking to be convinced by VR. Go find a VR amusement park. They are uncommon now but exist.
I also imagine with the Oculus Quest coming they may crop up more next year due to the low cost and minimum set up.
Agreed, the Quest would make a great tool for a VR event/amusement attraction. Tempted look into doing it myself maybe? 😁
I wait till the quest comes out. I hope battery life will be much longer and has gamepad compatibility.
I wouldn't bank on it as you still have to have the battery on your face and its more powerful. It'll be interesting to see what sort of battery life it has.
Should I buy psvr as I don’t have a pc but have a ps4 or wait for the quest
If you're happy with wires then the PSVR is a great option, some great games coming out for it. The Quest will be a similar experience just without wires, cost more overall if you already have a PS4. Why not both? 😁
Don’t have the funds if you had to either buy psvr or wait for the quest what would you do
Personally I think I would wait for the Quest. Its hard to say which is better overall until its released but the freedom of no wires is a massive plus.
is there any news on - will quest have sd card support?
Is zero caliber available
Not yet.
RaMarcus for neither
Not yet.
Which is better for gaming, the rift or quest?
Can't be sure with the Quest yet as it's still 5 months away. But Rift will always have better games but needs a PC to go with it.
RaMarcus You think the quest will have rift games at some point? I can only get one and I can’t decide
It'll have ports but you have to remember the Quest will run on mobile internals so they will be downgraded.
RaMarcus If I choose rift, should I wait for rift 2?
Might as well wait for Rift 3 if you want the best one... Got to jump in at some point. 😉
I'm going to hang onto my Go, as it is more portable. But that doesn't mean I won't get a Quest also. Six months can be a long time in VR, and something unexpected may turn up, so I won't be committing to anything just yet.
Yeah a wise move. Exciting times all round. 😁
I want big screen vr and vrchat... if it has these two I am buying it. (I hope it will have, i already saved $250)
Big Screen is confirmed but not VRChat, but we'll have to wait and see. 😉
Simket Blue what do u mean by a big screen?
There is an app called Big Screen Beta.
Vrchat confirmed from the latest list
😎👍
I have an intensive crave to play some VR since I've tried it at some arcades, so I'm getting the Go now, and I'll save up some money, and sell my Go and buy the Quest later.
Good plan! 👍
I like that CaptainDissillusion as your profile pic haha
I just wanted to say Thank you for all the great content. This piece was very informative and I will be showing it to people at the Ranch. Do you have a link to the protector for the oculus go? 10:20
Thanks Edward. Here's a link to the video all about it and the links are in the description th-cam.com/video/CvZvCO0AFwk/w-d-xo.html
Thank you sir
Quest it is gonna be standalone, so no wires, tracking box things and no PC.
They said it would be providing rift like ecperiences. But where is the computing power for that?
You need Space for the screens, space for the cameras so where do they put the graphics card, cpu, ram etc?
Or maybe i haven't realised how much more powerful and smaller the parts have become.
The experiences will be near Rift like but scaled back/ported to a more mobile process CPU friendly settings. I've spoken with people who went to OC5 and they thought the games looked great. Stay possitive.
i thought it would run off yoru computer, and kinda blutooth the visuals and audio to your quest so the headset wont need to be super beefy?
No PC required. Its like a beefed up Oculus Go, higher end internals, 6dof and dual 6dof controllers. A lot cheaper than a Rift and a VR capable PC.
I got the GO just a week before the quest was announced. I could still technically return it for my money back, BUT I def can't wait that long for the quest after using my GO. Will def get the quest tho.
Yeah it's still 6 months away, plenty of time to get some good use out of your Go. 😉
That's a lot of friends! Get them all addicted. 😉
Working on it. I pretty much just link ur videos and or recite them lol.
Ha good man. 😉👍
can i watch media apps like youtube on quest ?
You should be able to. No confirmation on what apps yet.
I chose not to wait. I jumped on it. I'd get the other when it comes out
Good stuff, it's a great device and you'll have a lot of fun with it while you wait. 👍
The snapdragon 835 has the Adreno 540 GPU and 845 has 630 which is 30% faster and 30% more power efficient with a focus on VR. I understand they need to keep cost down but it would be nice to have the 845 somehow
There were some rumours recently hinting it might be an 845 instead but nothing confirmed. We'll have to wait and see. 😉
RaMarcus I saw a article that said the consumer model will have an 845 and the original dev ones have 835’s
Fingers crossed. 🤞
I could imagine releasing a performance edition with the 845 after they see how well the oculus quest sells.
Interesting idea. 👍
But can you plug it into your PC to use it as a Rift? Imagine how cool that would be,having to set up no sensors at all.
😂👍
First week done. bing watching some of your older vids to pass time. but gotta say i do enjoy them. I do not own a GO myself. I was going to but 7 months ago oculus quest got announced so i decided to wait for it. I now have enough money for it! :D
Great to hear you enjoy the channel. The Quest is so close we can almost taste it, hang in there just a little longer. I'll try to cover it much the same as I have the Go. 😉👍
The quest, will be my first EVER VR headset!
Nice, it should be great and I'm looking forward to it. 👍
same here
i think the 80% games 20% media is a foreshadowing that oculus spent all the money on games and the quest might not have the media apps the go has at launch. where is your go sticker? did you remove it or do you have a second go?
The sticker was all scratched so I've ordered a new one, stay tuned. 😉
i use my go everyday because it is a vr tablet. even when i only had a psvr i use my tablet way more. i am buying a quest for my home but i don't think i'll use it aside from new releases. i am going to let the kids have the quest and i'll borrow it when necessary which is nothing against the quest but i already have 2 hmds.
Sounds like a sensible plan, my kids would love a Quest!
No worries, great to have the different headsets to cater to different requirements. 😉
The Go is a... Go. Quest is still so long away, lot of time to still enjoy loads of media. Plus the Quest doesn't look as portable. 😉
When the oculus quest is compatible with the X1X and i can use the Xbox app to stream from the console to the quest and play skyrim on the X1X using the quest with an xbox controller... Make a video about it... Until then any info about vr is useless to me
You'll be the first to know if and when it's possible. 👍
