One tip I would like to add - Try using your Go both with and without the spacer inserted. The spacer is included for people that wear glasses to move the lenses a little further away. I wear glasses, and inserted the spacer when I first got my Go before even using it for the first time. It worked just fine, but I later saw a posting about someone that didn't wear glasses, and got a better viewing experience from using the spacer. It got me thinking about what would happen if I removed the spacer, and I found (for me at least) that wearing glasses and not using the spacer was a better viewing experience. So my tip would be, if you wear glasses or not, try using the Go with the spacer and without to find which is the best viewing experience for you. And I know there are prescription lenses you can buy for the Go for those wearing glasses. I haven't got around to investigating those yet. I want to get to an eye doctor first and get an updated prescription (it's been a few years).
Couple of points - to change your environment, just go to Library -> Environment and pick one. No need to go through the tutorial. When removing the facial interface, if you struggle to get it back on, the pieces of plastic that surround the lenses which the facial interface tucks under actually come off. So, if you struggle to get the interface back on, just remove the two plastic surrounds, put the interface in, and then clip the plastic surrounds back on top.
Hey, something I just found out. Plex will play 180, 180 3d, 360, 360 3d videos!! I tested it and it's awesome!! You should do a video on that!!! I run some on youtube but sometimes the stream buffers a lot. But running locally it's FANTASTIC!!! And in FULL QUALITY!! I was already using the Plex VR app to watch my 3D movies on the GO, QUEST and RIFT S... But now! Woohoo! It is the best way I have found to play ANY local content...
Great video. Dumb question: just got one... I have my home screen set to the “beach” background.... what’s the easiest way to clear ALL menus and just see the beach? Or can you recommend a good app that has live VR video of scenes like that so I can just have the most simple VR experience of feeling like I’m elsewhere without a bunch of menus in front of me? Thanks!
Thanks! One of the top features I'd love for someone to figure out is how to screen share/cast the Oculus Go to a phone, laptop or TV. That would make the headset hugely more entertaining and useful.
Yeah, there is a way but it involves sideloading an app called Vysor. Feel free to check it out but I’m a bit concerned about sideloading apps as I don’t want my account blocked or anything []-)
I've heard rumors that it may be added in a future update. No timeline as to when, though. And, as I said, only rumors at this point, which may or may not come to be.
You can share what you see on Oculus Go through live streaming it to your facebook account. If you don’t want any of your friends to see it, just set it for only your account. After your done, just delete the video from your facebook account.
Yeah but if you pick that method there is a long delay vs real time and also the resolution is lower than even SD. Vysor doesn't have any of those issues. I did find that even my gaming setup had trouble hitting the potential full frame rate and resolution options.
@@sunnygeorge4152 Very good the only drawbacks are no forwards or backwards motion tracking and only one controller but yes picture can even display the Facebook wall of text good.

I already own a gear vr but my vr sessions are limited due to my Samsung S8 over heating and so I was going to a buy the oculus Go. Will I have to repurchase all my games/apps or will I just log into my oculus account on the Go and my purchased content will download/appear?
Great channel man! Oculus Go is my first venture into VR and I’m really enjoying it! I was watching a show in Hulu and my Oculus Go would go to sleep after a while. Does anyone know how to increase the time on the auto sleep feature? Or completely disable it? Thanks!
Yeah, this happened to me a couple of times whilst watching Netflix. I guess every now and then you have to move the controller as there is no sleep setting to adjust right now []-)
Hello i don't have enough money to buy any tipical virtual reality machine, what's the cheaper? How much it can costs? Thank you! (I'm not looking for a google cardboard or something like that bc i already have one)
Another Oculus Go Tips: You can transfer your videos to your headset directly from your media server. Simply go the gallery, and you'll see your local media server (I'm personally using a very basic SMB server generated by my home router). In gallery click the [...] icon and download the movie. You'r now ready to take your movie anywhere. Note that you can also watch them directly from your network without downloading anything when you are at home ;)
I think it may unofficially support fast charging. I haven't really got a point of reference as I have never tested it plugged in after it overheated when I left it to charge on day one (though I have seen many claim it takes about 3hrs to recharge), but I got a Sandstrom Gold Series 20100mAh power bank and I can see it charging quickly as I use it with it plugged in to that (it does fast charging if your device supports it). Mind you it could be because its does up to a 3A charge, and even though it says 2A in the Go manual, 3A may charge it quicker. If you have something 3A charger hanging around, like a Raspberry Pi 3B/+ PSU, and/or a fast charger for the phone like comes with high end Samsung phones, it may be worth trying them to see if it charges faster than the 2A slow normal charge.
I have a Samsung quick charger and can confirm, regrettably, that it still takes about 3 hours to charge. I’ve even tried my iPad Pro charger and it still takes 3 hours.
Silly question, I found your video via my recommendations and I'm quite interested in VR - also happen to own a Vive and Lenovo Explorer myself. Sadly, there aren't really any standalone VR HMDs here in Europe other than Oculus devices. Can I somehow use the Go without Facebook? I mean... it's basically an Android device anyway.
Hey Mike. Thanks for another wonderful show which helped completely with pairing my SteelSeries controller with the Go amongst many other tips I needed. This also gives me a chance to request some info from one of your previous videos and hope you can help me. I just recently purchased a basic interface set with Red interface replacement from vrcover.com and have been notified that my order is dispatched and en-route however I have also been informed that they do not make the Red interface anymore and a black one has been sent instead which honestly defeats the object of my personal design requirements. However in a previous video you mentioned you personally spray painted your interface blue to which I am quite capable and my question is can you please give me the color code or name of the shade of blue you used which would save me a lot of time trying to discover the right one to match yours. Also did you use an acrylic or enamel based spray paint? Cheers and I hope you can help with my question. Regards Mike []-)
Hey mate, strange that they've stopped doing the red. I liked that it made the Rift stand out. Shame. I don't recall the colour code of the blue I used? It was a matt light blue. The brand I used was Plasti-Kote which is made for plastics, just ensure you give it a light sanding all over first and use a Plasti-Kote primer []-)
Virtual Reality Oasis Thanks again Mike that's great info as is you channel and production. I amongst other things really like the reminiscent of Ready Player One intro using the Vive and Oasis logo on the side straps which look really cool and another design I'd like to steal off you Lol. In regards to the color code this is not a prob and I know B&Q have a large selection of Plasti-Kote colors and I'm sure I'll find it there. Also I'll make sure to use the Plasti-Kote Primer also so cheers for your time and recommendation/information. Have a great evening and I look forward to your next video. Mike 😀
Ok. Due to having just one controller many games can't be played. When an Xbox 1 one controller is used can these games be played or is the choice of games increased by the Xbox controler?

I finally decided to get an Oculus GO and bought numerous apps to try it out, had it for 2 weeks, but had to return it because I got nauseous whenever I used it. I am not happy about that because it was really awesome... :(
I don't know..., just felt like I had motion sickness. When I returned it (sadly), the girl at Best Buy said that others had the same problem. It took me a while to be able to do first shooter in my Skyrim game, but I tried with my Oculos GO - bought different apps and stuff..., just couldn't make it work for me. I am so disappointed - I have waited and waited for an affordable VR that I could use. I guess I won't bother with the Skyrim VR.... Sad. :(
You may already know this. The motion sickness is a problem with all VR devices, not just Oculus Go. It's caused by the body thinking it is moving, but actually not moving. This is like sea sickness. Some people have it; some people don't have it. The good thing is that after you get used to it by playing only 15 minutes at a time or something like that for many days, you become immune to this motion sickness, just like people can get used to be on a ship. Another thing to know is that all Oculus Go apps comes with a Comfort Rating. The game with the rating "Comfortable" are much less likely to cause this motion sickness feeling. So, if you are likely to experience motion sickness, start with "Comfortable" apps.
Hi a guy on youtube shows using a 40X20mm fan to cool down the oculus go when it gets too hot. I bought the fan but the only thing i did not like is that he used magnets to hold it onto the oculus face. So I'm into 3d printing and just made a Fan Holder that you just clip on and easily take off. If this is something you would be interested in, let me know. I could put up the link for people. thanks
I've look around, do you have any idea if there is a solution to fix the IPD for the go? any hacks or diy? I love my go, but i hate to have to send it back b/c i can't use it
Unfortunately, I'm not entirely sure? I know that when I use it my left eye feels out of place and after half hour of use and it's completely blurred out. I tried the vive at the a Bluewall VR and I was able to use it with no prob... I think they said i was 67.8? or something. Am I possibly doing something wrong?
not usually, I'm going to give it another shot. I've read that I might be able to find a sweet spot. I really want this to work so I can start developing in it. I came across a diy mod where someone replaced the lens of the vive with that of the gear vr and said it produces a better clearer image. I'm hoping for a mod to fix this whether it be a new 3d printed headset or w/e.
I just subscribed to you because you opened with "Welcome to the Oasis" if the rest of your channel is as awesome as the name I'll be here for a while lol
hey mike, is the Oc Go and Rift heavy on your nose/face for long usage? or is there any tips to spread the weight distribution on my head? I haven't got my VR yet but I plan to play normal games in things like Big Screen n stuff :) appreciate a reply, thanks!
The Go is really comfortable mate and I don't find any pressure on my nose or face.....I have been using VR for almost two years now so maybe I just don't feel it anymore lol []-)
64Gb version out for delivery today, really excited to try my first VR experience. Have heard that 'Wander' is the best streetview app, looks really cool!
Can you help me? I've just brought the Oculus Go and I'm hoping to use it, to train my brain to start walking again. I'm in a wheelchair, and I've had stem cell treatment for Multiple Sclerosis. So basically, I need to learn to walk again. Thank you.
hey brother!! I really dig your videos and all the detailed information in them. you've saved me a lot of headaches. I already had ordered a hard case but very happy to hear about the Anker power core!! Anker is my BRAND!!! I ordered it and the Anker core case immediately after seeing this. God knows I LOVE watching movies in my own private theater!!! always got the best seat in the house. Looking forward to seeing what you do next.
i want to get an xbox one controller but i only want to use it to play certain games and still use the oculus go controller to navigate the home screen and for all my other apps. how would i switch back and forth between both controllers? will they both stay paired to the oculus go or do i have to keep unpairing and re-pairing the controllers every time i want to switch?
How can I mirror the OG? I want to guide people through using the product but I have to do it from memory instead of looking at a separate monitor and see what they see.
How safe are these sideload programs both in terms of security and stability? It's akin to jailbreak an iPhone I presume which is something I try to avoid. Will this feature be ever released by Oculus for the Go? Or are they saving it for the version 2 of the device or the more expensive model?
I want to get an oculus go but I want a cheap way to pair a second controller I allredy own joycons so could you do a video on how to pair joycons to the oculus go?
Do you happen to have a solution for the wretched problem of the controller locking all movement to forward (instead of sideways or back)? I can't find anything on the web, other than replacing the controller, which is a pain. =)
It's amazing! I have a Samsung Note 3 phone which Oculus says isn't supported, but it works with it just fine. I was also afraid that I would get nausea from using it, but that hasn't happened. I'm very pleased.
can you make a oculus go resolution change video step by step. i know it can slow things down but i know there are some apps that dont use alot of power and could benefit from a slight change
There is already a video guide out there that shows you how to do it, I wouldn't recommend it doing it though - th-cam.com/video/qI2cNzaoPdE/w-d-xo.html
Can you use valve knuckles with the oculus go? I know you can on the rift with extra steps but I would like to save some money and buy the go and separately get valve knuckles.
I’ve had my Go for over a year and barely used it. Now in Lockdown I’m looking to explore what it can do to remove me from reality! Thank for the tips.
I was concerned about PPD of 72 due to a number of articles I read prior to the OG being available. I'm very glad to report that with the glasses insert I don't have any problems with the OG so those with a large PPD should not shy away from at least trying the OG.
I'm delighted but be aware, you cannot set up the headset bluetooth without a data connection. I'm 62 going on 22 and amazed how the resolution has advanced. I'm on a boat so the movement adds to some experiences. Its wonderful truly wonderful.
Should i get this our save for a quest. Tried psvr at my friends and thought it was cool i want a wireless one because wires are annoying and i saw the quest an go which should i get

hey mike, is the Oc Go and Rift heavy on your nose/face for long usage? or is there any tips to spread the weight distribution on my head? I haven't got my VR yet but I plan to play normal games in things like Big Screen n stuff :) appreciate a reply, thanks!
The Go is really comfortable mate and I don't find any pressure on my nose or face.....I have been using VR for almost two years now so maybe I just don't feel it anymore lol []-)
How to take out the facial interface for a wash - nice one!
Gotta keep it fresh Zim []-)
Putting the Oculus in Travel mode is also a good way to watch stuff. As you turn the screen turns also.
I'm not familiar with Travel Mode. Can you elaborate? What is it and how do you activate it? Thanks in advance!
Hi do you know how to increase the quality make the ve screen more like Hd or increase the graphics? Tnx
You can push the resolution at on the Go as shown in this video but you will sacrifice some performance -th-cam.com/video/qI2cNzaoPdE/w-d-xo.html
Is there a good planetarium / astronomy app for the Go?
Question??? The right side of the oculus where the speaker is located is the plastic where the strap in is it supposed to come off???
hi there is anyway to increase the quality of the videos? The quality is the same of the Rift? cheers
The quality of the display is actually slightly better than the Rift already []-)
Hi thanks to your reply but i mean the quality of the videos you can watch are the same?
the steelseries controller comes in an ios and an android version, i have the ios one, will it work with the go since its android based?

64Gb version out for delivery today, really excited to try my first VR experience. Have heard that 'Wander' is the best streetview app, looks really cool!
Wander is really great! I plan to cover it in a video in the near future []-)
Great tips I appreciate
I appreciate the comment Andre! Thanks dude []-)
Can you help me? I've just brought the Oculus Go and I'm hoping to use it, to train my brain to start walking again. I'm in a wheelchair, and I've had stem cell treatment for Multiple Sclerosis. So basically, I need to learn to walk again. Thank you.
Is there a way to turn off the touch sounds when navigating oculus go home?
You could just put the volume to the lowest? []-)
Virtual Reality Oasis in other words there's no off switch?
can i connect a gear vr controller to it, so i can do dual controllers?
lol no mate, unfortunately not []-)
I love this channel he’s just a sick guy love his contents
Great video. You are one of my go to people for all things VR. Appreciate the time you invest.
Thanks very much mate! Glad to have you here supporting the channel []-)
Thanks for covering us Mike!
Always got you covered bro []-)
How do I use the microphone? Is there even a microphone on the oculus go?
Yes it auto uses it
Mike you're tips helped big time, thanks buddy!
You're welcome bro! Having fun with your Go? []-)
Cheers m8
hey brother!!
This is awesome. Looking forward to great Go videos from your channel. Subscribed as well :)
Cheers Anish []-)
Can one mirror iPhone screen image to Oculus Go in order to see Google street view App?
Nope. You should check out Visio Spaces. It's like street view in VR. You have to sideload it though as it's only available on GearVR []-)
i want to get an xbox one controller but i only want to use it to play certain games and still use the oculus go controller to navigate the home screen and for all my other apps. how would i switch back and forth between both controllers? will they both stay paired to the oculus go or do i have to keep unpairing and re-pairing the controllers every time i want to switch?
Thanks Mate . Yours tips & Tricks are much needed. Keep them coming . I love what the future has in store for VR!!!!!!!
How can I mirror the OG? I want to guide people through using the product but I have to do it from memory instead of looking at a separate monitor and see what they see.
You can't do that right now unless you sideload an application called Vysor []-)
How safe are these sideload programs both in terms of security and stability? It's akin to jailbreak an iPhone I presume which is something I try to avoid. Will this feature be ever released by Oculus for the Go? Or are they saving it for the version 2 of the device or the more expensive model?
Awesome vid
Thanks mate []-)
I want to get an oculus go but I want a cheap way to pair a second controller I allredy own joycons so could you do a video on how to pair joycons to the oculus go?
Do you happen to have a solution for the wretched problem of the controller locking all movement to forward (instead of sideways or back)? I can't find anything on the web, other than replacing the controller, which is a pain. =)
My Oculus Go arrives tomorrow!
Nice! Now that you've had it for a couple of days. What do you think? []-)
Damn ur sad
I was concerned about PPD of 72 due to a number of articles I read prior to the OG being available. I'm very glad to report that with the glasses insert I don't have any problems with the OG so those with a large PPD should not shy away from at least trying the OG.
Interesting! Thanks for sharing Donald []-)
Thanks I may be getting one for christmas
Didja?
Can you plug the Oculus Go into a USB while using to never run out of the battery life while using? If so, what type of USB cable would you recommend.
i get occasional bouts of vertigo. Would you suggest me trying this ? I cant believe its all bad enough to trigger it.
I'm delighted but be aware, you cannot set up the headset bluetooth without a data connection.
I'm 62 going on 22 and amazed how the resolution has advanced.
I'm on a boat so the movement adds to some experiences.
Its wonderful truly wonderful.
Thanks.
Thanks Dennis []-)
I didn't realize I wasn't subbed. I just saw your vids on the home page and thought I was subbed because of it. Okay now i'm subbed.
Thanks MobileDecay []-)
can u play marvel powers united vr on this or just the oculus rift
Only on the Oculus Rift right now []-)
Isn't Pet Lab free? I was thinking that the code may be for the in-app purchase but it just gave me an error that I already have that game.
Maybe it's for the in game content unlocked []-)
Haha then the code wouldn't work because I already had the free version
Is there a way to disable the "allow access to media" message that comes up when I want to load content via USB, drives me mad.
Should i get this our save for a quest. Tried psvr at my friends and thought it was cool i want a wireless one because wires are annoying and i saw the quest an go which should i get
If you only want to watch movies and use media get the Oculus Go but if you want games like beat saber and job simulator get the oculus quest
Nice tips... for the background, you can just select 'Environments' to change it without using the Tutorial.
Really!? Where is environments? In the headset or the app? []-)
right above the tutorial button you used ;)
I’m such a noob! Thanks mate []-)
