Thank you very much! The dealership wanted to charge me $550 and you helped save me almost $500 by buying the parts at my local auto parts store. It was a challenge but I got it done and my window is now fully functioning
My 16 year old son just did 95% of this on his own with little help from me. I had to help with holding a few things in place. Thanks for the step by step video it really helps vs me showing him and doing the majority of the work and he doesn’t get enough hands on time. Thanks again

My window had fallen into the door panel on a freezing morning as i was dropping off my gf... i had it wedged with cardboard and i used tape for less than a year bc i couldn’t afford it, all i could do was watch this video. Now I bought a regulator and i installed it this morning and i used this video the whole way. Thank you. 10/9/20
The rear passenger motor went out in mine yesterday, i luckily found the only motor and assembly in stock at a O’Reillys and was able to replace it within an hour, only 81 dollars. This vid saved me
My driver side window got stuck halfway this week and it's been raining, so thanks to this video, I was able to replace my own regulator and motor and be dry on my way to work today! I am quite thankful for this video. For owners of a coupe: there are a few differences in which parts come off and which screws are loosened vs. removed, but it is mostly the same process. The section with the window switch comes out instead of the arm under it and there is a screw in the cubby of the armrest that has to be undone before that comes out. Other than that, it was pretty straightforward to figure out the rest.
I ordered the window motor assembly from your company after watching your video, took about 30 minutes to change out and works like new, thanks for the video and quality parts and fast shipping
Thanks, Mike. You're the man. I'll be buying my regulator from you folks as a direct result of you putting this video up and doing a great job. Thanks!
You just save me 400$ I was literally at the mechanics about to do it when I saw this video. I went home and followed your video. Did it for under 100. Thank you
I just watched the video and found out how easy it is to replace the window regulator, so I ordered it. cant wait to get it and install it. Thanks for the video Good job.
Many thanks to 1A Auto and Mike for this comprehensive yet easy to follow video. Having followed the outlined steps I have managed to replace my Honda window regulator and motor with little to no problems at all. Perfect vid for anyone wanting to save about £40 in labour costs! Great job guys!

We currently do not have an auto repair video on this particular application. We'll keep this in mind during any future repairs that we may make like this.
You may want to see if there's power going to the window motor when the switch is pressed. If there is no power to the window motor, it could be a bad switch or blown fuse.
I have a coupe, it's slightly different, but overall this video was very helpful. It took me a couple of hours but I was able to replace the motor/regulator! Thanks a lot :-)

Very helpful. Great instructions. Not your fault but your video does not account for the fact that prior to me attempting the repair someone had run a sheet metal screw through the regulator to keep the window up until the proper repair could be completed. Once I found the screw and removed it the job went just as your video showed. $60.00 for the parts, couple of hours of my time and some choice cussing but now the window operates as designed. Thanks.
Great video showing how to access and replace the regulator. However, based on my experience, you ALSO HAVE TO FIX THE ROOT CAUSE of the problem that caused the regulator to fail. If not, the new regulator may prematurely fail after one year... My 97 Civic is over 23 years old. In my case, I additionally had to PARTIALLY REMOVE the rubber window "run channel" (I only removed the left and right "sides" of the channel), CLEAN THE CHANNELS of accumulated dirt (I used cotton swabs soaked in "Goo Gone" but I guess soapy water would work as well). In addition, it was easy to completely REMOVE THE WINDOW from the door. Once removed, it was important to thoroughly CLEAN THE FRONT AND BACK EDGES of the window. Finally, I read that the "run channel" should be LUBRICATED WITH SILICONE GREASE. In particular, I read that Honda's Shin-Etsu Silicone Grease, part @-9013 should be used to lubricate the channels. My local Honda dealer price-matched another dealer's price; I paid $18.15 for one tube. Since I had gone through two regulators, each lasting only about one year, I GENEROUSLY GREASED the channel AND both sides of the window's left and right edges BEFORE REINSTALLING THE WINDOW. After re-assembly, the window moved up and down without any hesitancy. In comparison, the other windows moved much slower - so, I will do preventive maintenance for the other windows by removing the windows, and thoroughly cleaning the window edges AND run channel. Cleaning removes the accumulated dirt, which allows the window to move freely, and reduces the load on the window regulator motor and assembly. Hopefully, reducing the load on the regulator will prevent the regulator from failing again.
The issue might be with the regulator getting snagged and binding up. Best bet would be to open up the door panel and take a peak inside to see what the issue is.
We don't carry the replacement gear, but we do carry new window regulators for your 97 Honda Civic on our website 1aauto.com 888-844-3393 Hope this helps you out.
Thanks for the video. I'm not a car enthusiast so am hesitant to attempt fixing the power lock issue. The car is in use day to day by my partner so don't have as much time to work on it. Do you work on the 5 Dr Civic 2003 EU8 Hatchback model ? Not sure the US equivalent
On section 6:30, you didn’t show the Old vs New part comparison, so we could see The ruined - Old part from the new part! I think it could’ve been a GREAT Idea to show it!
The issue could be a power door lock actuator. You will have to remove the door panel and test the connection to make sure you are getting the correct voltage to the actuator.

Someone has previously removed the bolts and the old broken motor and not left us with the bolts, so, can you tell us the length and thread we need to replace the bolts?
Hey there, any idea how to replace the window motor if the window can't move down? I can still take out the top bolts with a wrench really slowly, but will I be able to get the motor out at all?
you should be able to apply some of the basic steps show in the video to your Civic. Once you get the door panel off, you should be able to see what's causing the issue.
Thank you for watching. You can cut the cable on the regulator. That will free up the window and you will be able to move it as needed. The only downside is you would need to replace the regulator at that point. Here is a link to the part on our website. Hope this helps! 1aauto.com 888-844-3393 www.1aauto.com/2001-05-honda-civic-window-regulator-pair-front/i/1awrk00058?TH-cam&VideoReply&ATony
Your videos rock Thank you for them. But I have 04 civic passenger window that rolls down about 3/4 of the way and then seems to bind and stop. Also when the widow seems to bind it pusses the window towards the front of the car. I can roll the window up and down to this point just fine with no noise. Would this bee a regulator issue or a window channel issue.
I have the passenger power door actuator go bad on my 01 civic. It is not opening nor closing, but it jerks a bit when I press the open/close button. Do you know how to replace it? And does it need to be replaced? Perhaps something else could be wrong with it. Thanks!

My 2004 Civic's rear passenger window became stuck today. I heard no noise or anything when I push the button to make the window go up/ down. What do you think might cause this?
hi my window is also stuck in the up position, how do i get it to slide down to the two holes where i can unscrew those 10mm bolts.the motor won't work and the cable is not broken.I tried pushing it up and down but it won't budge. Thanks
i have an 01 civic but my passenger window doesnt make any noise or just fall when i try to roll it down. same goes for the window to the back right. could it still be the regulator or is a blown fuse?
I have a 01 civic coupe. The window is stuck down inside the door. I looked at the rails and nothing seems to be on its way and yet it won't go up, even if I pull on it by hand. Do you think it's the regulator? How can I get it to release the window far enough to un-screw it??? Please reply...
Thanks for sharing the video. My Honda 2003 driver side window is not coming down. Do you think it's more of a motor issue or the power switch problem. Secondly, if I remove the door panel as shown in this video, how am I going to remove the window since the window is close all the way up. Is there a way to manually lower down the window once the door panel is removed?
Just saw this now. Now your second comment makes more sense haha So anyway, test the switch itself with a digital multi-meter. Pull the harness out of the motor and probe it to see if you have any power going to it from the switch (on the 12V setting). If you don't you know the switch is bad. If you do, but the window won't move then you know the motor is shot. If you can't get the window down, but you know the motor or regulator is shot, you may have to cut the regulator cable and move the window down by hand. This wouldn't be ideal, but it would be ok since you'd be replacing the regulator anyway. Hope this helps you out. 1aauto.com?TH-cam&CTA%20Comment&ATony 866-403-3393
Inside my driver door it mentions this vehicle is equipped with driver/passenger side airbags, and “do not lean on door”. Is there a sensor I should be aware of inside the door so as not to trigger the side airbags?

Thanks for the video, I am struggling to get my passenger side window to open. There is no noise at all coming from the motor, power is getting to the switch but then the fuse blew. The other three windows are fine. Both the driver window control button and the passenger window button fail to open the window. I've taken the door apart and because the window is fully closed, it does not come down to align the nuts and bolts as you showed in the video. So I can't take the window out. Any suggestions?
My window is stuck in the up position as of today, if i press the button you can hear the engine revs drop slightly as if its drawing power, but the window doesnt budge . in the past it has occasionally made a slight grinding or stuttering noise ~ is that a dud regulator?
Just finished my wife’s window. The longest part was actually those first two screws, being that they are hidden up in the door. Get a screwdriver that’s magnetic to make the process easier. I did it alone in about 45 minutes but with two people, it’ll be much faster. Other than that, very good tutorial.
hi i have volvo v70 2.4 year is 2000 estate i change the tailgate lock on it is still not working all the doors still work but the tailgate does not . have any info please. regards.
Tirns outy regulator is fine, but the glue holding my window to the holders bolted to the regulator gave way. What kind of glue should be used to secure the window?
Could be the regulator or motor. Or it could just be that the switch for the driver's side is worn out. If you hear the motor running when you press the switch then you know that's ok. The thing to do is to pull the switch harness and test for power with a multimeter. Good luck and let us know how it turns out! Hope this helps you out. 1aauto.com?TH-cam&CTA%20Comment&ATony 866-403-3393

Please i need help

my passenger side window is stuck open by about 2 inches. I watched your video and bought the part. How do I get the window down another inch or two so the bolts that hold the window in are in line with the holes in the door so I can take the window out?
Once the door panel has been removed you should be able to reach inside the door and push the window up or pull it down so that you can access the bolts. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

hi my window is also stuck in the up position, how do i get it to slide down to the two holes where i can unscrew those 10mm bolts.the motor won't work and the cable is not broken.I tried pushing it up and down but it won't budge. Thanks
i have an 01 civic but my passenger window doesnt make any noise or just fall when i try to roll it down. same goes for the window to the back right. could it still be the regulator or is a blown fuse?
I am needing to replace my regulator on 2008 Honda Civic sedan. Would you do it similar to this?
1aauto.com?TH-cam&CTA%20Comment&ATony 866-403-3393
alright thanks for the info. when i get a chance i'll pop it open and see.
Inside my driver door it mentions this vehicle is equipped with driver/passenger side airbags, and “do not lean on door”. Is there a sensor I should be aware of inside the door so as not to trigger the side airbags?
do you have a video on replacing the ac compressor in an 03 civic?
GREAT video!

Thank you so much for this video! But I'm going to let someone else do this because I know ill mess up. How much would this typically cost?
+luh 2sell It would depend on the hourly rate of the shop performing the repair and also the cost of the part used for the repair. Thanks for watching. i have the same car.... the rear left door lock only works manually, the rest lock and unlock electronically any ideas on what this could be?

Just to add to the above question. The other three windows are operating fine with the master switch, just the driver side window is stuck.

I have a 01 civic coupe. The window got stuck inside the door. I took it apart and nothing seems to keep it from coming up, the window is on track in the rails but it won't go up or down freely. Do I have to replace the regulator???

How to install 2002 suburban drivers door glass electric window
2002 suburban drivers power window replacement for
Thank you 🙏
my passenger side window is stuck open by about 2 inches.
