    Ended up being waaay easier than I thought. The video definitely helped. 1 thing i can say is before putting the regulator in, just look at the bolt holes on the door and on the regulator. Will make a lot more sense when trying to line up everything.
    Don't be intimidated by this, its very easy. Helps to have a second hand but totally doable alone as vid shows. Gl

    Quick tip to make things easier. The 2 boltholes on the far left and far right of the door for mounting are pass through holes. Put the bolts in the regulator for those holes halfway screwed in and then put the regulator in the door and slide the pre- installed bolts through the mounting holes for easy mounting. No fighting to line up the holes. Great vid though!

    I recommend using double hooks, the S shape hooks to keep the windows in place, once you fully close it. For extra safety. I’ve been doing it for a while and it’s really easy and sigh of relief knowing you took that precaution.

    Hi! Great video, very helpful! I do have a question though. If you have a sedan civic Ex are the drivers side and passengers side window regulators the same models for the back seat?

    • @MobileCarMechanic

      Unfortunately they are not the same. Front and rear of one side have different part numbers.

    Great job! Can you solve a puzzle for me: Civic hatch 97. Only when the wire on the passenger switch is shorted to ground (on any screw on the door) the window move upwards. It goes down without any problems.
    Thank you.

    • @MobileCarMechanic
      @MobileCarMechanic 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Honestly that sounds tricky, I'd check the switches both the Driver and Passenger side switches and the Passenger side Motor, I've included some pages from the Civic Service Manual which go over testing procedures for all the components I've listed to check. imgur.com/a/4dhB4Dp

    So my window rolls up and down good but it always comes off the tracks or will get half of window up all the way but the other will leave huge gaps. What do I do

    • @MobileCarMechanic
      @MobileCarMechanic 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Look at the rubber in the tracks. They can bind causing this issue. But too much play in the regulator will also cause this. See if your able to lift the glass and feel any large amounts of play. If too much play it would be advisable to replace. Also greasing the tracks with silicone spray helps

    Hey so i have a 97 honda civic coup anf the passenger side window was stuck up when i bought it. I replaced the motor that works going up but not down 😅. I replaced the switch and the 10 fuse but nothing happens. . . Any suggestions 🤔

    • @MobileCarMechanic
      @MobileCarMechanic 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I would get a multimeter and probe the connector that goes to the motor and see if you get 12 volts up and down, if nothing down its most likely the switch. I had to go through this with my driver side on a civic i just bought only to find I was getting voltage but the driver master switch and motor had failed. My master switch was actually shorting the passenger side window and when i replaced it i could move the window up and down on the passenger side but not the driver side. When using the multimeter I could see i was getting voltage on the driver side up and down. also check to see if wires in the door hinge area has any broken wires.

    What about replacing a damaged track? I just replaced the regulator and motor and it's already messed up

    • @MobileCarMechanic
      @MobileCarMechanic 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's not too difficult, I believe the track is held in with 2 10 mm bolts. Check the rubber in the tracks to see if it the window came out of the guides. sometimes when the window gets off track the rubber gets shifted causing the window to either get stuck or move a certain amount.

  • @OTK_Lovely

    My issue is I can't get the window to roll all the way up now at all, it was shaky and off track and jolting once it got to a certain height, so I changed the regulator only to realize I bought a passenger side regulator on my 98 civic coupe. Is the problem due to it not being a driver side regulator, or could the issue stem from it being the OEM motor on this new regulator. (I took the new motor off and switched it with the old one to match the electrical cause I realized it wasn't for the right door.)

    • @MobileCarMechanic
      @MobileCarMechanic ปีที่แล้ว

      It being the passenger side regulator being on the driver side would be the cause.

    Have a sedan version: All windows came down no problem (105 temp). At night all windows won't go up.
    What is likely the problem would it be? Again driver's buttons do nothing & same as other, lock & unluck driver button works.

    • @MobileCarMechanic
      @MobileCarMechanic 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It sounds like when the components get hot they complete the circuit. I’d check the relay for the power windows and see if that’s the issue.

    So my window would jerk 3/4 of the way up and would not fully close and I recently changed the regulator and found some teeth were chipped, but I still used the same OEM motor. And it still stops about 3/4’s of the way but doesn’t jerk anymore. I want to think the motor is the issue but not sure I NEED HELP what could be the issue ?

    • @MobileCarMechanic
      @MobileCarMechanic ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would try using silicone spray in the window tracks to help with resistance for the window going up and down. If you don’t notice a difference then I would replace the motor.

  • @denilzo210

    I installed the new window motor and I was connecting it to see if it works and it still doesn’t. What could be the problem

    • @MobileCarMechanic
      @MobileCarMechanic ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you have a multimeter probe the wires in the connector and use the switch and see if you have voltage. If not check fuse 10 which a 20 amp fuse for the passenger side and see if it’s blown. If not then I’d check the wiring in the door harness near the hinge. The wires do break over time from opening and closing the door. Also the window switches can have issues.

    • @MobileCarMechanic
      @MobileCarMechanic 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I would check fuses, if you have a multimeter I would check to see if you are getting power to the window motor connector when using the switch, if needed possibly jump the pins on the drivers master window switch to the corresponding window. Will need you to look up a wiring diagram, and last thing I’d check is to see if the wires that are at the hinge are possibly broken. Cheers!

    • @MobileCarMechanic

      You will need to remove the bolts that hold the window regulator and the motor from the door which will then allow the window to go down. 8:02 After that you will remove the 2 10mm bolts that hold the glass to metal frame on the regulator. 6:20

      @@MobileCarMechanic No, I don’t hear any noises and it looks to be going moving perfectly. Only problem is the window still shows a bit when fully down. Is there a way to adjust the regulator to maybe make the glass go further down?

    • @MobileCarMechanic
      @MobileCarMechanic 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I would check the window guides and see if its binding when it goes down to the bottom, did you replace the whole assembly and use your old motor or did you buy a new assembly with a new motor? Also using silicone spray to lubricate the window tracks may help as they get dried up. If you find your having the same issue I would remove the regulator assembly and try to manually move the glass by hand to see if you run into a snag when it gets to the bottom.
